I’ve been wondering this too! Last season, I assumed that Gold always retained his memories until the creators confirmed he remembered upon hearing Emma’s name. So now the question is how on earth did Henry end up in Storybrooke? I have to wonder if maybe August had something to do with it.
[adrotate group="5"]angiebelleParticipantHe couldn’t say it outloud in an episode that aired before the reveal that Neal is Bae. 🙂
angiebelleParticipantYeah, it annoys me a bit that so far she seems to be a complete blank slate. I was really hoping to see the emergence of an identity. No one has even thought to ask her about her name- not even Greg. I thought she might recognize Regina but apparently she never had a proper introduction. I think her having a Storybrooke identity would make her story much more interesting.
I think that even if she would be more accepting of Ruby and the Charmings telling her the truth, they *think* that she would freak and believe they are acting in her best interest even if they aren’t. I’d also like to think that the Charmings have come visit her off camera. If you watch the immediate aftermath of the accident at the beginning of “In the Name of the Brother,” you can see Snow being very caring and comforting towards Belle.
One thing that was really nice to see in “Manhattan” is that while Belle gets very little screentime, it’s heartening to see that Rumple basically trusted her with his life in sharing with her the whereabouts of the dagger.
angiebelleParticipantI think no one really knows *how* to deal with Belle, so they are just putting their trust in the hospital. Also Belle freaked out when Gold tried to explain to her about magic so I’m not sure her reaction would have been much better if Ruby *had* told her the truth. She might have thought Ruby was patronizing her.
angiebelleParticipantYeah, I am pretty sure too- I think we will get at least one more big Belle episode. I’m just impatient.
I was wondering about that too- don’t they have any visitation procedures at this hospital? People are just poking into her room whenever they feel like it!
angiebelleParticipantI think it was rather clever- August couldn’t possibly have had any magic in our world- it wouldn’t make sense for him too. I couldn’t come up with anything that would convince Neal of the truth…but August calling him out on his real identity was perfect. Now we have a new mystery though- how on earth did August know about Baelfire?!
I do think Blue Fairy knows more than she is letting on, but I disagree with those who think she is bad. I think she is a force of good, but that fairies may lack human emotions- it’s a conflict of head verses heart.

Hm.. He hates his father, killed his wife and let his son fall in a bottomless hole to stay safe himself 😕 wouldn’t exactly call it that, but maybe thats just me 😉
Ok, what I really meant was he if he loves someone, he is very loyal to them- not always in a healthy way. He wanted to hurt anyone who hurt Bae. Yes, he let Bae go, but only because of his immense addiction to magic and his fear of being without it. He immediately regretted it afterwards and created the whole curse to get him back. When Belle lost her memories, he was so distraught that he threatened to kill the Charmings if any harm came to her. That’s what I was referring to- I guess “fiercely loyal” wasn’t really the right choice of words. He is also very vengeful if someone betrays him.

It kinda bothered me that Rumple offered to make Bae young again and tried to fix things with magic…we had a more heartfelt reaction when Rumple thought August was Bae last season. Back then, he promised no more magic.

I actually loved Rumple’s reaction to the Henry-is-Bae’s-son reveal. I mean, he starts off yelling at Neal and Emma like they’re two misbehaving teenagers (love their guilty exchange of looks) and then Henry walks in and it seems to finally click in Gold’s head. Then he just backs into the corner between the window and the bookcase and stares at everyone with this pained expression on his face for the rest of the scene. A second favorite would be Gold buying Henry a hot dog.
lI’ve gone back and rewatched that scene several times now, and you are right- there is definitely a great reaction there. It was just so late in the episode that it left me wanting far more. I want an emotional, caring, “I have a grandson!” moment in which Gold shows tenderness towards Henry. We also haven’t yet seen Henry have the realization that Gold is his grandfather. Hopefully next ep!
angiebelleParticipantI was all nervous when I heard there was going to be a shocker at the end of this episode…but I agree with what has been said. I don’t think this prophecy is necessarily a bad thing. For one, I don’t think Rumple could kill his own grandson…for another undoing, as others have stated, could just mean the end of the Dark One but not the end of Rumple himself. Maybe it means hope for redemption.
