Ok he’s not evil but he’s a manipulative jerk, he took the money that was ment for Emma and left her to go to his precious island! I know he was suppose to point her toward her destiny but did he have to do it in the most messed up way possible?! He didn’t make amends he came back and tried to save himself when he started turning back into wood. It was only once he thought he was gonna die that he started feeling ashamed of how he conducted himself starting from his first mistake of leaving Emma in the first place.
Yes, I don’t think he’s evil either, but he’s definitely very manipulative. I recognize the faults that Rumple and Regina have and like them for what they add to the show, but I don’t let them off the hook for their actions either.
He was wrong into playing puppet master by breaking up Neal and Emma just because he thought that she wouldn’t fulfill her destiny, and the parallels between him and the Blue Fairy were very strong in what he did to Emma/Neal and what she did to Grumpy/Nova.
Also, while the Emma of today might be cynical and jaded and may not have believed what was in the box, why didn’t he at least attempt to get her to believe that she was the Chosen One because back then there was actually a chance that she might have been convinced sooner especially if August had got Neal to help Emma believe rather than chase Neal off.
Not only that, but then he runs away again after he messes up Emma’s life instead of trying to help her once she was out of jail.
Then, when he finally comes to Storybrooke to try to “help” Emma again, it’s all because he didn’t fulfill his duty and is turning back into wood. He tricks Henry into thinking that they’re working on Operation Cobra together when August really has his own agenda, and then he dumps all the responsibility onto Henry just so he can spend time with his dad.

Red room: did anyone else think Twin Peaks’ white lodge for a second?
I know I did. Maybe one of the dwarfs could be the midget. Emma could be Laura. Snow could be Maddie. Neal can be Agent Cooper. I hope we don’t see Bob though. (Sadly the actor died shortly after he was Bob, I believe, but I still get chills just thinking of him when Leland turns into him.)
(Speaking of Twin Peaks, I hated how they sunk Agent Cooper/Audrey even if it made sense because she was 16-17, and he was an FBI agent, but Neal/Emma now join Agent Cooper/Audrey as one of my favorite top 5 tv ships ever only after one episode. Now I know how super Rumbelle fans felt after “Skin Deep”.)
Someone, (sorry I don’t recall who) recently posted on here that perhaps dreams that the writers of the stories in our world had, were how the stories ended up in our world. Now it seems that maybe there really IS some link between magical lands and our real world subconscious. That’s pretty cool!
Yes, I love the idea of dreams being the way that their stories got here in our world.
Who did they see? What is the room? It kind of reminded me of the inside of Jeff’s hat.
Is Cora somehow behind all of this?I’m not sure if Cora is behind it, but I am worried about what’s going on there. While we might get information about other worlds through dreams, the way that the dreams haunted Snow, Aurora, and Henry along with the spoiler about how Charming must put his life in danger to communicate with Snow, makes me think that there's something very ominous going on with these dreams too.
I keep thinking about maybe there's an Original Big Bad or something because it reminds me a lot of Buffy the Vampire's “Restless” where the Scooby Gang all have dreams about the First Slayer, but I got more ominous vibes about the shared dream in OUaT.

Hook hadn’t counted on Emma turning on him, he thought he had the upper hand in that relationship, and if anyone was gonna do any double crossing, it was gonna be him. So I can see him not trusting her any more, (whilst at the same time being impressed by her), and going back to TeamCora instead, at least for now.
Yes, I still say that Hook was always going to turn on Emma no matter what, but even if he was going to work with Emma if she got the compass first, I think they’re going to be enemies now.
It is possible though that he might change sides again though when he finds out who Emma was in love with because I think they’ll want to leave the door open for Hook as a character after this season, so they’re not going to make him completely irredeemable or possibly kill him off like I think they will Cora this season. (Well they might not kill her off, but put her in some kind of prison so there’s always a possibility she could become a threat again, but Hook, they’ll probably let go if he changes side and helps the allies.)
I guess during whatever communication happens between Charming and Snow, the topic of Cora must come up. Is it any wonder Regina and Rumple wanna kill people who come through the portal if one of them is potentially Cora? Assuming that Cora is savvy enough to have considered the fact that she wouldn’t last long in SB if she pokes her head through the portal, that could potentially lead to the impostor theory coming true. Much easier to sneak into town as Snow, because even if Regina and Rumple set some sort of trap for those coming through the portal, Charming would see to it that Snow (and Emma) wouldn’t be caught in said trap.
Along with my feeling of Hook planning to double cross Emma all along, I think he was pumping her for more information that he and Cora could use, and for me that gives more credence that Hook and Cora will pose as impostors.
Charming may not be able to tell right away because of whatever side effects he might get from the life threatening danger is used on him to communicate with Snow. I believe it will be the Sleeping Curse because of the dreams that Aurora, Henry, and I think Snow had, which wouldn’t seem to impact him in being able to tell the real Snow, but maybe it the effects will be worse on him because he already had mysterious black outs last year. Henry might be able to tell, at least, after the joy of having Emma and Snow home returns, but it might be too late because Cora, Hook, and/or King George might have done something to him by that time. Red might not be able to because of whatever lengths she goes to, to stop her werewolf side from coming out after Billy turns up dead, and she thinks she might have been responsible. I don’t think any of the Dwarves even Grumpy see Snow enough to notice if something is up. Rumple and/or Regina might, but I’m hoping they get played by Hook and Cora too.

ParticipantSo many things to respond to in this thread, if I can ever get my feelings under control again.

I’m starting a club: Hugs for Baelfire! Might even make a list of members on the first post of this thread (or do I need to calm down and wait for Bae-Neal confirmation?)
We might also need to start raising money for the therapy sessions – not sure if they’ll be for us or for him yet. 😆I so need this though. We should just call it Group Hug Thread for Bae or Prayer Circle for Bae or something like that.
^^^ Bae is definitely the producers’ punching bag. If I could attend one of public conferences the writers go to (like Comicon or Paleyfest) I would wear a shirt that says STOP HURTING HIM. Lol.
He better get his happy ending.
I just realized that Emma spent two years in Tallahassee after she left prison. She was probably still waiting for Neal.
😥 That might be all my heart can take tonight! But so true! She made his gift into a necklace she always wears, kept his car – I bet she tried to track him down and waited for him in Tallahassee. So – why did she tell Henry she has nothing to remember him by? Is it just too painful to talk about it since she’s never found him but also never let go
I know! Every time I think I can get a grip, someone mentions something else that gets me all emotional again. Like I saw a gif where the name Henry is on a keychain in the scene where Bae/Neal and Emma rob the store together, and I was like, oh no not again. 😥

This could apply to Neal and Emma, too. Snow met Charming while stealing something from him. Emma met Neal while stealing something from him, although in Neal’s case he’d stolen it from someone else.
I do think they’re going to do Emma and Hook. At this point, I think it’s inevitable, however, I think Swanfire is endgame. Emma kept the car, despite all that happened. I think that is telling. But I think things are going to get a lot worse for them before they ever get better. Probably won’t even happen this season. They’ve both got major issues to work through and Henry will be caught in the middle. It’s not going to be pretty, but it will be interesting.
I guess I’m the opposite because while they did flirt and banter more this episode, I think the ending effectively sunk any chance of CaptainSwan, not that I thought it would go beyond flirting and bantering anyways because of Hook being in cahoots with Cora. Yes, maybe he was telling the truth about helping out Emma and Company if she got the compass first, but I for one didn’t believe him, and was proud that Emma did the right thing in not trusting him. It doesn’t matter now because I think Emma is now on Hook’s list of people to get revenge against.
Plus, I saw parallels between Milah/Hook and Emma/Bae, so I’m not sure if they would set up a true love triangle between Bae/Emma/Hook. Of course, Milah/Hook and Emma/Bae are partners in crime, but what really got to me was showing the depths of the true love that these pairings have/had. In “The Crocodile”, I wasn’t really sure about Hook’s feelings for Milah. I think he did love her, but it seemed like she loved him more than her. However, after tonight I do believe that they were each other’s true loves.
I guess that’s the main reason that Hook/Emma doesn’t work for me because it can’t really work as a fling because Hook is working for Cora, and Emma isn’t that kind of character. It can’t work as true love because they both already have a true love. So I can’t really get invested in the possibility even if I did think they have chemistry, which unfortunately I do not.

ParticipantOkay, more than ever, I believe that there is something up with the Blue Fairy. Since Bae obviously isn’t the one to have told August about the Dagger, it must have been the Blue Fairy which means she’s had her memories all along.
This means she could have easily been behind bringing Henry to Storybrooke and making sure that Emma fulfilled her destiny.

I loved the Neal/Emma relationship but i really hated how douchie Augest turned out to be and how easily Neal with along with him.
A big yes to this. Although it makes sense if Bae is Neal not to fight because to him he was doing the noble thing, which is such a Bae thing to do. Plus, he’s so use to everyone abandoning him sooner or later, in the back of his mind, he probably thought what he had with Emma was too good to be true and something would happen to rip them apart.

So the return of Pinocchio DID NOT GO how I expected it to. Anyone agree?
I can’t believe he took all that money and just left her the car and the key chain. 😡
Yes, I was expecting to see the start of a bromance like Rumple and Charming have, but if Neal doesn’t punch August out as soon as he finds him in Storybrooke, I will be very disappointed. Before this episode, while I didn’t really like August all that much because I still thought he was selfish when he grew older, I never blamed him for running away when he was 7. I also didn’t blame him for trying to trick Rumple because he was so desperate. Tonight though, I just want him to chop him up into little pieces or throw a fireball at him Regina style. You’re dead to me now August. Dead to me.

Yeah, I can’t see an adult male in our world reacting like that to ‘do you believe in magic?’ Plus, really understanding that he can’t be in the person he loves life because of a curse her destiny is to break – that isn’t something any man I’ve dated would just nod and accept! Full circle, if August’s story included Rumpelstiltskin’s part (but he probably just believes it was Regina – right?) I can see Bae knowing he needs to do the honorable thing so it’s broken.
He’s Bae! I may be delusional at this point but that’s still what I see.
Maybe you should start a new thread asking “if anyone is still alive after watching this episode?” I really didn’t need my heart anymore OUaT writers. 😥
Yes, he’s got to be Bae. I believe that more than ever because Bae always has the worst luck. Plus, there were clues in the episode pointing towards him being Bae which hopefully I can remember if I can pull myself together again.
I have a feeling I will be visiting is the Blue Fairy behind everything thread a lot lately after tonight’s episode. (Effing Blue Fairy!!! And Effing August!!!)

Do you think they were preventing the other cast members from tweeting to him? Didn’t they start to tweet to the actors playing Aurora, Mulan and Phillip this summer? I might be remembering wrong. It’s been a few months. They seem like a really friendly cast and tweets aren’t uncommon, but this is the first between a cast member and him.
No, I doubt they went so far as to prevent them from tweeting him, but I could see it being like TheLadyBelle suggested where the main cast members know he’s going to be Henry’s dad/Baelfire, and that it’s just better not to say anything lest they give something away too soon. Plus, he’s been isolated from most of the other cast members so far, so I’m sure that plays a part in it too.
I just hope it’s a sign that he’s actually working with the other cast members now besides Jennifer Morrison and possibly Eion Bailey if they have a scene or any scenes together tonight.
Let’s hope he does great tonight and we don’t want to crucify him after whatever he does to Emma is revealed. But I have faith. I love Rumple despite all the horrible things he does. I have a feeling with Baelfire if he’d rip someone’s heart out we’d just say, “Oh, he’s had a rough childhood being dropped down a swirling green vortex.” 😆
Yes, I just want them to make it balanced, so that it doesn’t seem like one is totally to blame over the other.
