ParticipantI say Sydney will be the one to die…or disappear from SB. Most shows tease one character only to have another character bite the dust. Everything that was teased in the promo regarding Henry will happen, but he’ll be okay but someone else still gets the axe. I think that someone will be Sydney. I think we saw some foreshadowing of that when Regina breaks her mirror. I remember thinking how uncharacteristic it was for her to lose it like that. So my vote is for Sydney.

ParticipantI don’t think it would be Flotsam or Jetsam, simply because animals who are animals have stayed animals. Pongo had to come from someplace other than the real world as I’m sure no one comes to SB just as no one leaves. That’s why I don’t buy into Dr. Whale being Monstro. Unless the writers pull another twist like they did with Jiminy/Archie.

ParticipantWell, everyone is guessing the location of where Jefferson is walking in the promo for the next ep. It could easily be a basement corridor – say, one that leads to a certain room in a hospital psych ward?

ParticipantHopefully Baelfire ended up somewhere with magic but also with relative time. Wonderland, Oz, Neverland, or the Kingdom of Wisdom would be my picks – although The Phantom Tollbooth won’t be in public domain for years, I’m still dying to see it used.

ParticipantI agree with everyone who says that there is no FTL to return to once the curse is broken. Although we haven’t been shown what actually happens to people who try to leave SB (recent episodes hint to physical interference rather than magical), if there is some kind of magical barrier or whatever keeping people in SB, then it would come down. This would allow some to leave town, which in the series would allow other characters to be introduced.
I doubt that breaking the curse would be the main premise of the show for however many seasons. LOST tried that with the Oceanic survivors and the last three seasons were pared down to a handful of episodes each. Once the curse is broken though, there can be characters who want the status quo of SB to remain as it is, there can be those who want to explore the real world or attempt to return to FTL, or those who claim to want to take the SB citizens to another magical land, like Wonder or Oz.

ParticipantI think Rumpel is actually interested in firstborn children. At least that’s always been the angle used with him, even in OUAT. It makes me wonder if the show will go along with that, like Rumpel had other children and Bae is the only surviving child or Bae is the only child he could ever have.

ParticipantIf the Piper is ever used, I’m guessing it would be Rumpel in that situation. It’d be an interesting twist considering his interest in wanting other peoples kids. The one character I’m hoping is used is Arachne. She can be a foil or opposite of Jiminy/Archie. You can google a nice fable/fairy tale take on the story by searching for “The Wonderful Weaver”. She wouldn’t be the first mythical character to be used. King Midas was a myth long before he was a fairy tale.

ParticipantI actually think this is likely to be who Dr. Whale is. I don’t think his fairy tale counterpart would be a well-known character. There aren’t that many fairy tale doctors. I believe Dr. Whale can be in league with Regina because he either knows of the curse or, more likely, had made comments to make Regina believe he knows, similar in fashion to the Dr. Knowall tale. No matter what, though, I believe Dr. Whale’s character will be used for sinister purposes. My theory is that he will remember his true self and take Rumpel/Mr. Gold’s power and become the new Dark One, possibly for selfless reasons like Rumpel did at first. It would fit with the Dr. Knowall tale in that a peasant wanted to become more than he was. Of course, there are plenty of examples in fiction – in both literature and cinema – of what happens when medical doctors acquire supernatural powers.

ParticipantI also think Cora is the Queen of Hearts. I really started suspecting her when when she appeared in ‘Hat Trick’ with her face covered in a veil. But there are a few other things that point to Cora. The biggest thing to me from that episode is the QoH has a vault that is exactly like the one Regina has. Then there’s Regina’s comment on what QoH is capable of and, of course, the fact the thing Regina was after from QoH was her father Henry. It’ll be interesting to see how the two characters’ storylines play out.
