ParticipantActually looks pretty good. I had my doubts, but maybe I’ll be proven wrong. Does Disney have the rights to these game characters? Or was permission given to use them? Let’s see, in the villian meeting I caught:
Robotnik (Sonic the Hedgehog)
Bowser (Super Mario Bros)
Orange Ghost (Pac-Man)
Zangief and M Bison (Street Fighter)
Kano (Mortal Kombat)
Horned Reaper (Dungeon Keeper)
Zombie with Hatchets (Castlevania?)
possibly Cutman (Mega Man)
not sure who the purple girl is[adrotate group="5"]arjay369
ParticipantWell, that could be a possibility. BF was joined by two other fairies before the fairy attack commenced. That was probably just to have a connection with Disney’s Sleeping Beauty. Though, come to think of it, the lead fairy from that movie did seem to enjoy giving orders and bossing the other two around.

What an amazing response! If there was some way to ‘like’ or ‘ thumbs up’, I would. I am in awe of your parental wisdom. And I mean that. Very nice. 😀 That’s all I wanted to say.arjay369
ParticipantI believe Regina went to Gold for help adopting a child. We know through her conversation with Gold that she apparently had no idea who the child was. She did ask Gold if he knew -but- if what the writers say is true, Gold wouldn’t have known who Emma was until he heard her name in the real world. IMO, that would only leave the BF. As far as the finale goes, she didn’t have very many lines so viewers can interpret her reaction in any way. All we know for sure is that with Emma’s admission of her love for Henry, the BF turned to Regina and stated she should find a place to hide “Your Majesty”. I, for one, am leaning towards the BF being involved.

ParticipantI love this thread. I thought this was going to be a plain ol’ Regina doesn’t love Henry whatsoever type deal, but it’s been pretty deep. I think Regina does love Henry but she has issues. Of course, the primary one against her is that she’s a murdering psychotic.
However, beyond that as has been mentioned, she’s a mother out of selfish needs. There is a void she’s trying to feel. Unfortunately, she’s trying to replace lost love instead of nourishing a new love. Right now, it’s like Regina’s attempted to replace her prize steed – which she had originally sacrificed to the curse. I’m sure if a person has a rather large estate, they pay little mind to where their pets roam – much as to how Regina acts with Henry. And I’m sure when Henry grows up, Regina would either groom him to be like herself or demean/degrade him as Cora did her husband and become Regina’s valet and lackey.
I am conflicted with statements regarding someone loving their child and someone who is fit to be a parent. Coming from a broken home with natural parents who both married and divorced three times each and who were either unable to parent adequately due to selfish actions on one side or guilt for those actions on the other, it’s difficult to say what is real loving emotion and what is simple parental action.
Regina is straddling both sides. Is she waffling? Undecided? No, she loves her son. Unfortunately for Henry and herself, other things happened in Regina’s life before he came into it. Has she done bad things, whether seen as selfish or evil? Yes. Does that mean she is incapable of loving her child? No. Is she a bad parent or unfit? Currently, yes.

Yeah, I feel the same way. Forensic pathology is an awesome field. Having witnessed nine autopsies, I’d say forensics can indeed be quite interesting.

I’m wondering if there’s some connection between Rumple’s ability to spin gold and Midas’ curse.
I’m almost positive that Rumpel gave Midas his golden curse. POSITIVE!!!
OMG! Definitely, great thought!! I bet Midas wasn’t very specific in asking when he made that deal 😆
Well, in truth, Midas wasn’t specific, he was just greedy. In the story of Midas, he asks that anything he touches be turned to gold. Unlike the show, in the story there was no way to shield the golden touch, nor was it only in one hand. In the story, everything Midas touched turned to gold – furniture and clothes of which he soon became bored, food and drink of which he could not consume, and even his own daughter was turned into a gold statue when she hugged him at which point Midas sought to remove the Golden Touch and reverse what happened to his daughter. I wonder what happened to Midas and if he made it to SB.

ParticipantI actually think Henry and Emma were meant to parallell Snow and Charming. Throughout the season, EQ/Regina did everything she could to keep Snow/Mary and Charming/David apart and that was reflected in the relationship between Henry and Emma as well. And in both FTL and SB, events culminated in the use of the poisoned apple – first with Snow and later with Henry. It just so happens that both Snow White and Sleeping Beauty are stories which use similar elements regarding the heroine’s fate.
However, Season 1 of the show was definitely themed around Snow White. If Sleeping Beauty were to be introduced, then certain elements can be used to make things different. For instance, when Snow White fell victim to her particular curse, only she was affected. In Sleeping Beauty, not only was Aurora put to sleep, but everyone within the palace was and briar/bramble/vines grew up around the place.
Also, in Snow White, the sleeping curse was applied to an apple by the Evil Queen. In Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent cursed the child should she ever prick herself on a spindle. In show, this could be something blamed on Rumple since the spinning wheel is one of his tools.

ParticipantAnother character I’ve come across that fits the personality traits of Dr. Whale is Peer Gynt. I’ve read the original Per Gynt fairy tale and quite a few summaries on the play. The character fits – selfish, egotistical, daydreamer. It would be cool if Dr. Whale was Peer Gynt. This is the play that originated the song “In the Hall of the Mountain King”, it has plenty of characters to use in a backstory, and a very interesting main character.

ParticipantI found this to be an interesting topic so I had to google it. I have first read the Turnip Princess however, :bangs head on wall: , I need more exposition! What is going on? Is it an enchantment on the young maiden and whoever the bear is supposed to be? Is it an old witch wanting to snag a prince? What was the lesson meant to be for medieval Germans? 😯
I read King Goldenlocks and that is really well put together and easy to understand and follow it’s reasoning. It’s a shame it was locked away in some archive all these years. It could have become popular, but the story is similar to ‘Iron John’, ‘The Hairy Man’, and ‘The Gold-bearded Man’.
