ParticipantSo, it’s pretty much confirmed a no go on Peter Pan and Captain Hook due to rights/public domain issues. So, no Neverland. That’s how I thought it would turn out. Which is also why I knew children’s classic ‘The Phantom Tollbooth’ is unable to be used. It won’t be in the PD for a long time.
So Wonderland and Oz are available. Willie Wonka available? Someone said one of the doors in Jefferson’s hat represented the Glass Elevator?
I’m pretty sure The Little Mermaid and Sleeping Beauty will be seen. If not Season 2 then Season 3, I’d like to see The Snow Queen as that is Disney’s next major fairy tale movie, though Disney is doing an adaptation of ‘The King of the Elves’.

ParticipantMaleficent says that to try to avert Regina’s vengeance. She’s trying to get Regina to understand that nothing she does will change what’s happened to her lost love. It’s like anyone in Regina’s place – you lose someone and you can enact vengeance but the person is still gone or you lose someone and you can cope with the loss and you can move on.

I honestly don’t see much difference between right and wrong verses good and bad. I would think that most people consider both of those things moral and ethical discussions and most people would consider them subjective. Though i don’t really think it is subjective though i do think that it is difficult to figure out at times what is right verses wrong in certain situations. I just don’t think we should over think her saying the word right.
Easy way to remember the difference:
Good/Bad – choices, opinions, actions which are made by/for an individual
Right/Wrong – choices, opinions, actions which are usually made on behalf of a group usually by a group but sometimes an individual
When a person says they are on the right side, they do not care of anyone else’s view of good or bad, because they are concerned with the group, not the individual. So when the Blue Fairy says she is on the right side, she is saying she would do what would benefit (or be right for) the people as a whole, not individually.

ParticipantPerhaps the storybook is not only written by the Blue Fairy but also version of the Blue Fairy Book. An actual book of Fairy Tales written by Andrew Lang. With the exception of the Pinocchio story, the Midas story and the Mad Hatter, all the fairy tales used in OUAT are in the Blue Fairy Book including Rumpelstiltskin.
In the Blue Fairy Book, there’s even Snow White and Rose Red, although this Snow White is a different character from the Snow White and Prince Charming tale and that story is actually in the Red Fairy Book. But the Blue Fairy Book, does have Little Red Riding Hood as well as Prince Darling. It even has the Genie and the lamp.
Andrew Lang published twelve different colored fairy books, the first was the Blue Fairy Book. I guess I’m saying my theory is that the Blue Fairy did write the book and this is the show’s version of “the” blue fairy book. If that’s the case, then maybe there could be other storybooks out there in the OUAT-world.

ParticipantYou can combine the apples with other types of food to have a tighter theme – apple chips, apple cider, apple turnover, candied apples. 😎

From the extended preview it looks like Emma goes down the elevator in the mine shaft and confronts a dragon which could be Maleficent’s “surprising counterpart” in SB. Maybe that is her true form as everyone seems to be in their true forms in SB. We know from the Disney version of Sleeping Beauty that it was at least one of her forms.
That is a possibility. There are stories of dragons who take human form, mostly from China and other Asian countries, along with the phoenix and other mythic creatures. European dragons tend to just be giant lizards with a propensity for hoarding treasure and burning villages.
Or perhaps, if Emma is fighting a dragon, then Regina somehow locked Maleficent in her dragon form. I want to know why Emma would be fighting a dragon in the first place. There must be something that is needed to break the curse or save Henry and the dragon or whatever is guarding it.

ParticipantAside from the opening segments of the promo with Regina enacting the curse and Emma and Henry talking, there are 3 things shown in the promo that we’ve seen in previous episodes – the Siren, Ella’s fairy godmother, and the dragon that Charming fought. If these three separately don’t have anything to do with the story elements for the finale, then I’m taking it as a hint that Maleficent is making an appearance with magic.

I think we need a OUaT songlist thread where we can all list what songs remind us of the show. Lately, a few songs from Les Mis and Phantom have been having strong OUaT feelings for me.
We have one right here
There’s also another one for the Rumbelle fans 😎

Is her “pure evil” based on evil itself or on actions of a child and her being hell bent on revenge?
Regina started out feeling betrayed and wanting revenge. Regina has committed acts which would be seen as evil. Murdering her father being the biggest. Having her husband murdered is next. Even still, I think there is hope for Regina to be redeemed. She does seem to care for Henry, in her own unique, stilted way. My friend and I were discussing the similiarities and differences of Regina’s and Snow White’s personalities and upbringing and we both agree that, other than what was shown in “The Stable Boy”, it depends on just how much of Cora’s influence ‘stuck’ with Regina.
