ParticipantI think Jefferson is safe from the executioner. I believe we will see him next season trying to be reunited with his daughter. Not everything can be neatly tied up or everything next season would be all new material, new direction. There needs to be some characters who have something to strive for.

ParticipantWell, with Regina’s new status regarding what she is capable of and what happened with Henry, she can certainly use Belle to get Gold to do what she wants. Since Gold wants Emma around, Regina will want to keep from paying the price of magic.

ParticipantI would say Regina figured it out when she learned Gold had his memories in “Skin Deep” based on their previous conversation in “The Thing You Love Most”.

ParticipantI’ll probably drop the $50 for the dvd set in August. Right now I’m wondering if the soundtrack will be available in-store anywhere.

ParticipantI think in this case, the King would have made good on his threat even if Charming refused from the start. It’s easier to say no to a merchant than a king when all Charming is is a shepherd, especially when Rumpel tells him to make sure he’s making the right choice.

ParticipantYeah, Disney has their hands in a lot of pies. Along with ABC, there’s ESPN, Pixar, Marvel, Hulu, Soapnet, A&E…to name a few.
In English, the Anderson tale you are referring to is “The Red Shoes” http://hca.gilead.org.il/red_shoe.html . It seems similar to the Grimms’ “The Girl Without Hands”.
They are most likely going to do a take on “The Little Mermaid”, although with a nod to Disney. I am actually interested in Scandinavia and wouldn’t mind knowing where to look for fairy tales of that region including Finland and Karelia because I know there’s some strange division on who considers who Scandinavian. 😉
I’m also hoping they do a take on the Selkie – be it a Selkie maiden or a Selkie lord. I’m not into mermaids but seals will do just fine, hehe.

ParticipantI can understand the sentiment, though I do like the notion of true love being what saves the princess. I do wish they’d cut down on the Disney references. Fairy tales weren’t originally for kids, at least not the kids of this day and age. But ABC is owned by Disney, and they did agree to do that. Hopefully, they’ll stop at the Perrault/Grimm tales and treat the Anderson tales closer to the originals.

ParticipantCharming agreed because Rumpel told him that the King would ensure his mother would not want for anything and the farm would always be secure as long as Charming agreed to pose as his brother. And this was before the King threatened to destroy everything if Charming did not continue the charade and marry Abigail.

I am going with David being his real name in FTL while James was his dead twin’s name. There is no other evidence to refute that yet.
IF his twin is dead 😉
Speaking of which, if they’re twins, how is the king not Charming’s real father? The king is father to neither of them. The king and his wife couldn’t have children so the king made a deal with Rumpel. Rumpel made a deal with a peasant woman to help her husband keep their farm another year. The woman had twins. The cost of her deal was a child. One boy stayed with her, the other went to the king. The king’s “son” died. The king went back to Rumpel. For the surviving twin to replace the dead one, Rumpel’s price for the King’s second deal was the location of the family’s fairy patron so Rumple could get her wand.
