Didn’t Regina say it will be as if the first dark curse never happened, which is why SB disappears? Well, if that is the case, is that the same thing as rewriting history? Yet, if it’s as if the curse didn’t happen, how is Emma in our world still and how did she meet Neal to then conceive Henry? Or is it just the case that Emma thinks the curse didn’t happen (though it did), and that SB itself will actually reappear again when Emma believes? Confusing!
I think it was all about wording. Regina didn’t say that history would rewrite itself or anything like that but that it would be AS IF the dark curse never happened, in that SB will NOW cease to exist. So Emma’s and Henry’s memories will change but no one else’s. All the people that were born in FTL (and apparently conceived) were going to return with their memories intact but Emma and Henry are now “cursed” in a way with new implanted memories since all the FTL characters will just seem like stories again. The only reason why Emma can stay is because she is the savior and only the savior (or anyone conceived and born in our land) can avoid the curse. All the people that died during the time SB existed are still dead and any births (Alexandra) will still have happened. The question I have is what happens to the Darlings and the lost boys? I would assume that since the Darlings are from our world (I think, still a little confused about that one) they would continue to stay in our world and the lost boys would return to FTL if that is where they were from.
Now, of course, this is just my interpretation on this. The only ones that know for sure are the writers (Adam and Eddy in particular in this case since they are the ones that wrote this episode).

"Because... it was born out of true love."astrawoidParticipantThe hug between Neal and Emma when they are saying goodbye wasn’t romantic. At least not in the “I’m so hot for you right now” way. But it was not just friendly either. There was depth and sadness and emotion, it was just everything. You could see on Emma’s face how sad and difficult it was to say goodbye and you could also see how much Neal leaned into it and relished every second he could. Who knows how long before he could hold her in his arms again. But he knows he will one day. This wasn’t a good-bye to him, it was a see you later.

"Because... it was born out of true love."astrawoidParticipantEmma might start to entertain the notion Hook is telling the truth when she sees the dreamcatcher. But I don’t know if the dreamcatcher alone is enough to trigger her true memories, just as the chipped cup alone was not enough to trigger Belle’s memories in S2. “Lacey” still required the BF’s elixir in the cup to remember she was Belle. But the dreamcatcher could be how Emma discovers Neal sent Hook. Emma holding the dreamcatcher could be like a flash sequence like in 1×22 when Emma held the storybook and believed all the fairytales are actually true. But I don’t know if she’ll actually regain all her memories until she drinks the Blue Fairy’s potion
That’s what I was saying. She would just see a couple of images (I was hoping for Neal images/moments) that make her wonder and trust what Hook is saying and then she drinks the potion and it restores her memories.

"Because... it was born out of true love."astrawoidParticipantI can only imagine that it would be heartbreaking and devastating. All those memories of being together not true. Ugh. That is going to hurt a lot. I feel so bad that Emma will have to go through that pain.

"Because... it was born out of true love."astrawoidParticipantI had a thought about 3×12. What Hook is following Emma and telling her that he has proof of the crazy things he is saying by trying this potion that he has or going to such and such apartment in Manhattan (Neal’s apartment) but she’s had enough of it and calls the cops on Hook and as he is being taken away, he tells her just go see the apartment, just look. And while he is in jail, her curiosity gets the better of her and she does in fact go and see the apartment. And finds the dream catcher and other stuff there and is in shock at starts to get images of Neal falling through the portal after being shot, of them meeting in Manhattan when she is looking for Rumple’s son, hugging after her confession in the caves, etc. or something like that. Something starts to jog her memory enough that she starts to believe Hook and then bails him out and takes the potion. So her hidden love for Neal starts to jog her memory and the blue potion finally unlocks the rest of her memories. Thoughts? Other ideas?

"Because... it was born out of true love."astrawoidParticipantDid I miss something? At what point during this episode did they show that Hook and Emma were TL? I didn’t see that. Did I miss it? I saw Hook try to kiss Emma but it not working (which doesn’t surprise because she doesn’t even know who Hook is). And I did see that Emma wanted Hook to remember her which did imply that she had some sort of feelings for him but still no proof that this is TL. Sure there might have been some parallels and I’m pretty sure Hook feels like he loves Emma but I haven’t seen any proof that Emma loves Hook. So I don’t see this “triangle” as being over or resolved.
And then there’s the good-bye scene between Emma and Neal. I must admit I was hoping for more but how it played out made sense. Emma already knows how Neal feels, he’s told her but he doesn’t bring it up now because he wants her to go through with leaving with Henry. She has to, there is no other choice and to make Emma feel bad or remind her how much he still loves her would have been insensitive on Neal’s part. He doesn’t want her to feel worse, he just gives her hope that they will see each other again (ala Snowing’s I’ll always find you). And they share an epic hug and that’s it. I think Neal knows how hard this is for Emma. She doesn’t give up and in a way she has to so that Henry won’t be alone. Again, Neal is putting Emma and Henry’s needs before his own. Of course this is tearing him up inside. He just lost his father and now the only other two people that he loves will be gone from him again. His happy ending is gone yet again but instead of breaking down and crying he puts on a brave face because that’s the kind of guy he is. He doesn’t want to put any more pressure on Emma and tho he loves her he doesn’t want her to be sad that she has to leave them all. He holds back his own emotion so that Emma can do what she needs to do without hesitation.

And so it goes, one foot after the other
‘Til black and white begin to color in
And I know that holding us in place
Is simply fear of what’s already changed

"Because... it was born out of true love."astrawoidParticipantThis scene broken my heart into a million little pieces. I’m sure Belle will see Rumple again. Someday. Somehow. Somewhere…over a rainbow? From Tumblr
It all hurts so much. Ugh.

"Because... it was born out of true love."astrawoidParticipantHer face in the promo when she has the dreamcatcher. It’s a moment of clarity. A moment of self realization
Completely agree.
