Goes back to what KFC keeps saying, how do each of these men treat others when Emma is not around. The measure of a good man is not what he does when someone is watching, but rather what he does when there is no one around to applaud him.
This is so true. Bae was a good kid that grew up to do some questionable things to survive but still remained a good person at heart. He always looks afters others, putting their needs before himself in many cases. As an adult, Neal is still a good person. He still wants to see the good in people ( a lot like Belle, I think) and even tho he’s been betrayed in the past by people who shouldn’t have, he still believes in people and trusts them. He could have turned bitter and resentful and kept everyone at arm’s length but he isn’t like that. He’s likable and friendly and easy going.
I read something the other day where people were actually saying that the reason that they didn’t like Neal was that he was acting like a villain but claiming to be a hero. WHAT!?! I don’t even know how to respond to that. Does Neal falling through a portal so that Henry didn’t lose both his mother and father, something a “villain” would do? Letting the shadow take him to Neverland instead of the Darling boys something a “villain” would do? How about always standing in front of Emma with only a sword to protect himself when fighting Regina and Cora who had magic? Yeah, a villainous move, okay.
Now, again, Neal has made some questionable decisions in his life, but this show likes to show us that EVERYONE has at some point or other in their lives. People still harp on about Neal using Roland to get to NL. And I get that because I didn’t like it so much but I also understand where Neal was coming from and if Robin really thought that it was a situation where he son could not be protected, then he should have never agreed. But they took every precaution and Mulan set it up so that Roland would be in no danger. I think that particular scene was to show us that when a parent is separated from their child, they would do almost anything to get their child back. Being a mother, I can completely understand this mentality. But just because I have kids, it doesn’t mean that I am the only one that can understand this tho. I think everyone has people or at least a person that they would do anything for, move heaven and earth if possible, if it was needed.
There are many more examples of times when Neal has put others before himself and he does this whether anyone is looking or not.
And all those people that tweet or comment hate to MRJ, the actor, because they don’t like Neal, the character… they are abusing the right of free speech and apparently cannot tell the difference between reality and fantasy. I don’t like Hook as a character but I love Colin the actor and I am able to distinguish between the two. But even if I didn’t like Colin’s acting, I would never comment hate to him. It’s so rude and disrespectful. I think if you wouldn’t say something to someone’s face, then you don’t need to post it on the web. Just saying.

yes!
kfchimera wrote: Why show us that Neal loves Emma with enough substance to it to use a magic crystal ball to find her through that feeling, only to say Hah hah, actually he was just infatuated with her and just cares about her a lot?
Yeah the crystal ball is a huge thing in my mind. He uses the power of love to see her. I think that’s pretty significant.
kfchimera wrote: If it is that Bae fell for Tink as a 14 year old boy and she’s been his crush since then and whatever–it just would feel like whiplash to me a bit more so than Hook who’s come off as less-than-genuine to me about his pursuit of Emma.
If anything his crush would have been forgotten after Emma. They said that Emma reminded Neal of Wendy which is why DarlingFire always frightened me a bit.
I agree with all of this. And Wendy was the only one that concerned me as well but now that we know she is still a child and Neal is obviously all grown up, it’s just a family bond between them.

Sunday yet?
Yeah, seriously. Is it Sunday now? How about now? Now?

"Because... it was born out of true love."astrawoidParticipantSo it looks like 314 might be a Charming centric episode plus Rapunzel. There was a tweet from Ginny saying that he has been on a muddy, snowy mountain for a week filming. I was hoping for some SF stuff. 🙁 But maybe there will be some parallels or something. I can always hope. 🙂

"Because... it was born out of true love."astrawoidParticipantSorry to post this again. But it is so good! And can I say, we have some amazing talent in our fandom! I think ABC should be hiring these people!

"Because... it was born out of true love."astrawoidParticipantanother one: we learn that Cyrus wasn’t always a genie, but rather was a human once. He never told Alice because he tried to forget that life. Neal never told Emma that we was Bae from the enchanted forest.
I find it interesting that other people are saying that this last Once WL paralleled CS and that Cylice ties in more with their ship. I guess that’s what happens when you watch through shipping goggles. 🙂 Each ship sees an episode but then sees the same events as paralleling their own ship.
I am a little confused about why people are saying that the majority of CSers ship Cylice and that SFers ship Knalice. And if a SF fan ships Cylice then why wouldn’t they ship CS because the two ships are so similar. At first I liked the idea of the Knave and Alice together because I didn’t care much for Cyrus. But he has grown on me and so has their relationship so I’m totally Cylice now but I am still most definitely NOT a CS shipper. It’s funny I guess because, I agree with RG, I see way more similarities to SF than to CS when it comes to Cylice. Maybe it is shipper goggles but I do not get CS vibes at all when I see Cylice.
*sidenote* Grrr. I can’t seem to ever quote spoilers. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong, RG, but I can’t spoil out your quote. Help me RG, you’re my only hope. 😀

Agreed! For the myth of the overall show, I’m really excited. For our ship, I’m kinda apprehensive. I think we’re gonna have to hunker down here for a bit.
Exactly. I don’t know how much I’m going to enjoy 312 when we get back from the hiatus. I have the feeling, I’ll either be yelling at the TV or just pouting a lot.
