Obviously for us there is more. I don’t want them together JUST because of Henry–I think families come in all shapes and sizes and Henry was never going to be a kid with a normal family anyway (whatever normal means). But while it’s not the only reason we want SF together, it is something to take into consideration. Henry is *absolutely* a factor in Emma’s decision.
when it comes to your life, your children factor in. It would be a huge misstep in Emma’s character if she didn’t factor Henry into her decisions because, like JMo has said, at the end of the day, Henry is really her true love.
Emma has already made Henry the main focus of her life. And anyone that she is going to let into their lives has to put Henry as a priority in their own life. Obviously, Henry is a priority in Neal’s life already but I don’t see Henry as being important to Hook at all except as someone Emma cares about and is currently focusing on. I’m not sure if Hook realizes how much Henry will be around when they are back in SB and that Emma would probably never leave him there to go off adventuring or something like that without him. Emma’s life has completely changed now because of Henry. Her priorities are different than when she was single and alone. Henry absolutely has to factor in who Emma chooses to be with. That person will have to understand that Emma will always put Henry’s needs first and will feel like she has to be there for him as much as possible. When you have school-aged children, you can’t just take spontaneous vacations. Things have to be planned out, like who is going to take care of your child and make sure he/she gets to school for example. There are sacrifices a parent has to make at times. You can’t just go on dates or go drinking at the bar when your child has to do homework or work on a project for school the next day. Not to mention, kids need attention as well. Who ever Emma chooses has to share her with Henry. And many single parents want their child to like (approve of) who they are with. I’m not sure Henry would approve of anyone other than his dad right now so it would be difficult for any other man Emma may try to be with.

"Because... it was born out of true love."astrawoidParticipantI can’t believe I’m excited about a Regina storyline or ship. Never thought the day would happen, but I’m really looking forward to it.
I think it’ll bring back the qualities in her that we saw that she had before Cora, Rumple, and dark magic changed her. I can’t wait to see what’ll happen. I’m excited too!

"Because... it was born out of true love."astrawoidParticipantHope you feel better, Heather.
I’m really looking forward to Emma discovering all these additional things about Neal’s life. She loved him before, felt connected to him before, and now she’s gonna learn about all the trials he’s been through, and how he was alone like she was, and she’ll have a new understanding of exactly what she’d meant to him, and what family means to him, and why he had to let her go to find her own family. I can only imagine that learning these things will give her a whole new understanding of and respect for the person he is, and how strong his heart and spirit are, and she’ll fall in love with him all over again.
I hope you feel better soon too Heather!
All of the above!!! I agree!
Oh and isn’t 309 Save Henry right after Thanksgiving! I can’t wait for the big family reunion feels right after Thanksgiving. It’ll be so great!!!

I am so looking forward to Sunday’s episode. I really want to see Neal/Bae get reunited with Wendy. Poor girl needs some hope in her life. And I hope that Emma will see that all his life, Neal has been sacrificing for those closest to him. He was willing to leave everything he had and knew to start a new life with his father in an unknown land. He let himself be taken so the Darling family wouldn’t be separated tho that meant he would leave the only family he ever knew. He let Emma go so that she could fulfill her destiny and find her family but that meant sacrificing his own happiness and a start at a new family so that she could reunite hers. He sacrificed himself and fell through the portal so that Henry didn’t have to grow up without both his parents. I just hope Emma finally gets to see that it was Neal sacrificing again and again and again.

"Because... it was born out of true love."astrawoidParticipantIt took me a while to get through all these pages and everyone’s posts but I wanted to say that I agree with you all and you all are so smart and insightful! 🙂
The thing that struck me about Hook’s speech to Emma, besides being so forceful and oh so “wrong place – wrong time” (um, we’re here for Henry not the dating game) was that he had to mention that he wasn’t using trickery. I find that interesting, because usually if you aren’t using trickery you don’t really have to say it because it’s not on your mind. The fact that he specifically mentions trickery makes me wonder if he has in fact used trickery to impress Emma. I’ve heard his speech being so romantic and oh so sincere and honest. I actually was cringing the whole time and wondering if it would ever end. But what else bothered me was Emma’s reaction. I can’t believe that she would be so into it, to the point that I was starting to wonder if she wasn’t playing Hook. I mean she said it wasn’t a contest but she said it kind of breathy and I don’t know… it was weird and almost OOC for me. I didn’t like it. I didn’t like the whole scene. It felt uneasy and insincere to her character. I just don’t believe that even if Emma really did have feelings for Hook that she would have acted in that way when all she was thinking about was Henry. Maybe I just need to re-watch that scene again but it was strange.
I really want Emma to see Neal’s reaction when he finds out that Wendy is on the island as a prisoner. I really do hope they show how broken up he is about it. I really need this and so does Emma. You better not disappoint me again writers!
When will this triangle end!?! I’m really getting sick of it. I just want to focus on Henry at this point.

"Because... it was born out of true love."astrawoidParticipantI think they tried to get to NL to save Bae but then Wendy got captured and Pan used her to get John and Michael to do his bidding.

"Because... it was born out of true love."astrawoidParticipantCan we begin to unpack Neal’s reaction to Emma being magical? We’ve talked a little about this over the summer, but now would be a good time to bring it up.
So given Neal’s aversion to dark magic, how is he going to respond to Emma using dark magic with Regina? IS Emma even using dark magic? We saw that Neal used the magic orb in 3×1 to see Emma, so he’s not completely averse to using magic to help save Henry and Emma. And now that Neal is part of their lives, he’s coming to terms with Emma being the product of true love and Henry being the truest believer. I think Neal being the son of Rumple might also make him somewhat magical too. Maybe Neal can help Emma use magic without having to give into darkness? He seems to understand that once you give in, it can destroy a family, as it did when his father chose power over him.
I don’t think he likes Emma using magic but he’s holding it in for now. Maybe he realizes that to get Henry, it may be necessary. And he doesn’t want to be all preachy with Emma right now. I have to see more of his reactions with Emma using magic to gauge what he’ll do or say about it in the future.

Most likely. That or Wendy overheard them talking about Neal and then heard Neal yelling at Henry (in which he referred to himself as ‘dad’).
I think that since PP told her what to basically say to Henry, I assume that he also told her that Henry was Bae’s son. Poor Wendy, she just looked so emotionally drained. She didn’t want to lie to Henry but she couldn’t stand up to Pan either. Her lively spirit has been extinguished and I felt so bad for her. I think Neal/Bae will be so sad to see her in this state.
