I guess what frustrates me the most is when Neal-haters keep on saying that he is taking Emma’s choice away and choosing for her and forcing her to be with him because he will never let her go and something like that. But when did he say that she had to be with him? I didn’t hear that at all. I did hear him saying that he was going to force his love on her. What I heard was that he was going to be there for her no matter what now. He’s made mistakes in the past and gave up on her and tried to move on. But this time he isn’t afraid of rejection or of being hurt, he’s past that now and just wants her to know that he will always be there for her no matter what. “I won’t stop fighting for you” doesn’t mean that he’ll never let her move on (if that’s what she wants) but instead that he will always be there for her and will not make the same mistake of abandoning her again. He has a lot to make up for and he knows that. But he wanted to emphasize that now he won’t be afraid to be there for her and protect her if need be. He just wanted to state his intentions. He will now show her that he can be someone she can trust and someone that will be there for her and someone she can truly rely on. Does Neal want them to be together? Of course. I think that goes without saying. But if she told him that she didn’t love him and wanted to be with someone else (which btw she didn’t), I think he would say if that is what she wanted he wouldn’t stand in the way but would always be there for her. But that’s not what Emma said. She didn’t say I was hoping you were dead so I could move on with my life without you. She instead says that it would have been easier to put him and all the pain they went through behind her. She never says she wants to move on. She apologizes because she feels bad that she was hoping for the easy way out. But again, she never says that she wants someone else. At least I never heard her say that. I mean you can only read so much in the looks and reactions between people. At some point you have to also go by what the person says. I think she does have a close relationship with Hook. They definitely have an understanding and a connection. But I still think Neal and Emma have a closer one. Sometimes they don’t even have to see each other or look at each other and they still know what the other is thinking or doing. They understand each other so well that they just know how the other will react or act in a situation. We don’t see all the intimate looks and the closeness yet because Emma is still afraid. She still think that Neal will leave her again. She doesn’t want to get close again to be left and abandoned again by Neal. But once he shows her that he will be there and can be reliable and unwavering in his vow to fight for her, we will see them start to get closer again.

"Because... it was born out of true love."PS) Can I just say how annoyed I am that “Ship thread” no longer recognizes that SF have “mutual romantic love,” despite the fact that Emma repeatedly has told Neal she loves him and he’s admitted his love for her. Grrrrrrr! It’s one thing to have an opinion and label it as your own, but it’s another to pretend like it’s an “objective fact revealed in the show”! Anyone who says otherwise in my opinion is living in denial because of a CS bias or some other reason. Okay, rant over.
I agree especially since if SF doesn’t have mutual romantic love, how in the world can CS!?! Emma has NEVER SAID that she feels anything for Hook on the show itself. A kiss is a kiss, in fact she tells Snow that it meant nothing (granted she might be hiding her true feelings but we don’t actually know what they are other than what Emma tells us). But when Emma says she loves Neal and Neal says he loves her, that’s not considered “mutual romantic love”? Okay, okay. I’m done. I was just really really upset about it but I didn’t want to start anything in the chat.

I’m actually kind of tired of hearing other people making such big a deal of it. Maybe Neal really thought he loved Tamara but realized he didn’t. Or maybe he was so afraid of getting rejected from Emma that he wanted to fall in love with someone else and there was Tamara conveniently inserting herself there. Either way I really don’t care but I suppose we need some closure and some explanation from Neal on his side of it. I think it’s easy for a person who has never really had a family or anyone to put them first (father choosing power over him, mother choosing another man over her son) to think they are in love with someone who acts like they love you in return. I’m sure Tamara said and did all the right things to make Neal think that she was falling for him. Do I think it disturbing that Neal just moved so quickly from Tamara to Emma? No, because he never moved from Emma to begin with. Had Tamara never betrayed him and they were all still in SB, eventually Neal would have realized that his “love” for Tamara wasn’t real. He would have realized that he still loved Emma and that he was fooling himself. This happens in real life too. But that’s what I love about Neal and Emma’s love. It’s real. It has ups and downs. There is terrible pain and anguish and all of that has to be dealt with. Both of them have family abandonment issues that they have to mend before they can even think of being with each other again. But in the end they will get through it and their bond will be even stronger for it.

Regina’s tentacles were too distracting moving in front of her while she was talking to Ariel. I thought it was a little too much.
Eric. Too stiff or something. I just really wasn’t impressed. And I loved Eric in TLM so that was a huge disappointment for me. I hope I like him better the next time we see him.
The whole “runaway with me because I saw you in a dream and now I want to travel the world with you” seemed too rushed.
But all in all it was a great/fantastic/wonderful/tearful episode. Probably my favorite so far.
