ParticipantWell, the reason I asked this is because of what we talked about Jane. Is the money worth being on a show that has problematic messages and portraying problematic characters?

ParticipantWill you be disappointed with actors, that you have high opinion on them, if they extend their contract and continue to do the show after this season?

ParticipantZumpie began the tradition of calling him Bagelfire and referring to him as just Bagel.
Of course that Insult backfired on him. As SNAFU Moofins puts it:
WHY DO CSERS THINK CALLING BAE BAGELFIRE IS WITTY AND COY WHEN IT’S LITERALLY CALLING BAELFIRE A BAGEL. BAGELS ARE CUTE AND YUMMY. BAE IS CUTE AND YUMMY.
Hilarious that that comes from people who call themselves Hookers.

ParticipantMeanwhile, in an Enchanted Forest flashback, a familiar face from the Evil Queen’s past returns to present Regina with the perfect birthday gift,
…whyyyy is this part of this episode? Guys, give up the flashbacks. You don’t need them at every turn.
Lana explained at the Heroes and Villains Comic Con last November that we’re supposed to learn something big about Regina. Though to be honest, I don’t know what more else they could surprise us with at this point about the Queen.
We will learn something new just like we did when we discovered that Snow and David had a secret no one knew and they showed no indication of in the entire series, as well as Regina and Hook.
Honestly the biggest surprise for me will be if they won’t contradict or retcon anything that we saw before.

ParticipantYes, our fandom is the craziest I’ve been in. This zumpie person is horrible and recently I went to imdb’s forum, which I might not continue, and she’s there with the nickname ‘deetdee’, so if you happen to go there, don’t have a conversation with her. She is rude and just insult everyone. I try to avoid the places where OUAT fandom is crazy like twitter (I only tweeted Adam few times about what I thought). I think the most pleasant places for oncers to state their opinion is here amd the wikia forums.

Participant*cough* Warlord Bo Peep *cough*
Maybe that was the Tequila? *hopeful look* Anyway, I’m sure most of you have seen this, but here’s an interview with the Jessica Jones crew, including Jane, who was brought for the “polishing touches.” I actually think some of her commentary is really telling.
Also, with A&E also focus on the new show, there are people and is well known that Jane is their right arm, that she may also some saying on the story.
I see what you’re saying, @Rainbow, but I’m skeptical. I think for the showbiz crew, Twitter is a promotional platform, and I suspect there’s probably a party line that’s coming top-down about how to interact with the fans. I would not take any of this at face value. Much of it is public presentation of the participants (say, Jane, or the crew) not as Jane or Josh or Lana or whoever, but as representatives of a product (OUAT). Someone like Jane has to balance her own self-promotion of the product Jane Espenson ™, with the interests of the other product she’s currently associated with: OUAT. She, like most of the other folks on the project, will go on to other things. So now, it’s all about balancing their respective brands – their personal brand, their current project’s brand, their side projects’ brands and so on, without alienating anyone too much. Anyway, I’d not take any social media commentary as a representation of anyone’s true feelings — this isn’t entertainment for them, it’s their jobs, and like the rest of us, they probably have to show loyalty to the organization that employs them.
Maybe that’s the reason Ginny deleted her twitter. BTW when did she do it?

ParticipantShe even contributed to Jessica Jones according to her, which is a mirror to what OUAT does wrong.
Her contribution was revise scripts to see if there were no grammar or spelling mistakes, so she actually gave no contribution to the story what so ever
Oh, I didn’t know that. I thought she was a consultant or something.

ParticipantThe fact that Jane–or really any women writers on OUAT–haven’t, as @Nevermore put it, “taken the lot of them by the scruff of the neck and set them straight about how CS is coming off” bothers me quite a bit. I take one of two things from it. Either A) they don’t want to lose their jobs by trying to course correct the show runners (seems likely given how Hollywood is a Boys Town anyway, that is only recently beginning to really change) OR B) they are of the opinion that media and society have no intersection. I find the latter incredibly difficult to believe since BtVS and BSG were both *very much* about society and social values, culture and cultural values, and even the clash between different cultures/societies. For Jane to work on a show that think S3B-present day Emma Swan can fit with the likes of “strong women” Buffy/ Willow and Starbuck/President Roslin is…oh, baffling to say the least.
I agree with you on that. She even contributed to Jessica Jones according to her, which is a mirror to what OUAT does wrong.
I always wondered if OUAT was the reason she didn’t continue with GOT. I think it is a missed opportunity for both her and the show.

ParticipantI don’t mind you joking about that, I just wanted to know why. Well, I think there’s a reason why Jane episodes don’t have a lot of CS in them (except Tallahasse, but I don’t think she ment for Hook to be seen as a love interest), and writing the scene about Rumple in 503, maybe she hoped the writers won’t ignore that scene.
But according to what you say, I can’t help but think that by tweeting this: https://twitter.com/JaneEspenson/status/673745842117853185 she might have threw some shade at A&E.

ParticipantI don’t get this Jane CS thing you’re talking about, from what I recall Jane barely wrote CS episodes and the scenes in the episode she wrote weren’t that terrible. There was the scene that he regretted the way he treated Rumple, which would have been great if he acted upon his regret. And the scene where he gave her the ring, which could have been great if the following episode didn’t tell us his rings are from people he killed (not written by Jane).
