ParticipantToo bad they cast Nichole Munoz as young Lily. She could have been an amazing young Regina.

ParticipantThere’s no reason they can’t give us more Ruby and Mulan. We know we are! We know we are going to get some sort of Regina atoning for her sins. There’s no reason they can’t give us more Maleficient and Lily. The writers have said they plan on telling that down the line. But I suppose they could be lying. It’s just because of the shear ability to be able to do some of these things, that makes me think there’s a chance.
Well Ruby and mulan actresses have other projects now, so they cant be available much time, Mal actress not sure what she is doing, and Lily actress is pregnant and her father son lives in hawaii so not seing her going to van to shot a arc . They do lie, i can ask a friend a tweet that dates end of decemeber 2013, where she asked Adam if they would show what happened to Neal after emma and bae after neverland and he told her that some of those would be shown in S3B, which didnt happened, and by this time 315 script was already written and delivered to the actors. Adam also said for SF fans to have hope In january of 2014 after the 315 was filmed and said teh same thing to Neal fans after they trended world wide nr1 Hope for Neal after the death spoiler came and guess what 315 was already written. So yes they do lie, and i guess is bc of that most people here doesnt believe what they say, bc they lie and onceu lie to many times there is now way u will believe that person.
That and also the queerbaiting and other stuff. The 100th episode wouldn’t have bothered me if it was only that, it’s not. They treat their fans horribly and they take them for granted, they really think they can get away with anything, writing included. I already ranted about it in another post. All the bullcrap on the show doesn’t bother me, it’s the fact that they are dishonest that really infuriates me.

ParticipantSee I feel like the Pan arc, which was the first time they split the season into two halves, actually didn’t assassinate the characters. I think that arc proved it could work. The whole reason they decided to do it this way was because season 2 ran into a huge problem with big “filler” episodes and unnecessary material. There are parts of season 2 that dragged. They felt they could tell a more concise story splitting it up and I can’t blame them for wanting to try something new. Unfortunately, a consequence of doing that, has been focusing a little TOO much on plot and not taking a breath and giving us much needed character development scenes and more consistent decision making. But in no way do I think they started splitting the seasons so they could deliberately forget about characters and do something unrelated to the narrative. I think they saw the flaws with season 2, and thought this would help concise the story a bit, and many fans, myself included, thought this was a good idea at the time. They just unfortunately have lost their way since the Pan Arc when I felt the half season worked well.
The Pan arc still suffered because of the split. True, it wasn’t as bad as the following half seasons, but there were still a lot of unanswered questions left at the end. The Neverland arc could’ve improved by: Having Storybrooke in every episode just to break up the constant wondering in the dark. Fleshing out the Neverland characters that were introduced such as Tinkerbell and Felix and actually showing their backstories and how they came to be in Neverland. Also WHY Pan trusted them. Actually utilising Hook since this was actually “his story”. Hook is often put centre in arcs where he doesn’t need to be, but the one time that they actually do the story that would make sense for him to be more to the forefront, they give him very little to do outside CSF triangle. Show Nealfire’s time in Neverland, there was so many unanswered questions about his interactions with the Neverland residents. Why did Felix hope he’d never see Nealfire again? Why were Tinkerbell and Neal on such good terms that Tinkerbell was happy to betray Pan for him? Actually show the Nevengers being split up because of Pan’s manipulations instead of having Rumple just take off. The way the half season played out, Regina and Rumple could’ve found Henry and saved him with great ease within 2 episodes if they’d just ditched everyone else and worked together. Everyone else was useless, they all wondered round for 8 episodes getting nowhere, Regina splits from the Charmings, teams up with Rumple, boom they found Henry. Actually show present day Neverland in daylight. Not having Snow act like a self-centred bitch who only wanted another baby so that she could play mommy because the current relationship she had with Emma was not what SHE wanted and wasn’t good enough. (Way to make you daughter with abandonment issues feel loved Snow.) Basically, the Neverland arc would’ve been so much better if they had taken the time to explore the characters instead of trying to wrap everything up in 11 episodes.
I agree. I feel like every arc could have been better if it were 22 episodes instead of 11 and a little more attention to the writnig.
It should have been:
Season 3 Pan
Season 4 Zelena
Season 5 Author
Season 6 Dark Swan
Season 7 final battle or whatever.
Frozen should never have happen, it was nice at best, but it really doesn’t have a place on the show, same with Merida.

ParticipantI actually thought about a way they could return to how season 1 was, but they need to sacrifice a lot in order to do it (which will never happen).
They need to get rid of all the main characters except Emma, Henry and Regina while promoting new characters, which will be August, Lily, Maleficent , Mulan and Ruby. Snow, Charming and Rumple and Belle’s stories are done and they should just let them finish.
Hook, Zelena and Robin are underdeveloped and they just bring the story down (No more ships bullcrap).
All I want is Regina doing Mayor stuff, Emna being the sheriff and along with Henry, they help bring back the Happy endings of characters that returned from forgotten characters island.
The main overall plot would be the search for Lily’s father (which ultimately be revealed as the season big bad).
Side stories would be:
1. Developing Regina and Maleficent’s friendship.
2. Developing Emma and Lily’s friendship.
3. Developing a genuine ADULT relationship between Emma and August.
4. Mulan and Ruby’s relationship, they also help Emma with things
5. Mulan unresolved feelings for Aurora.
6. Regina actually atoning for her sins, bring in characters that she actually has to apologize and maybe help them get THEIR happy ending.
7. Developing a real a genuine ADULT relationship between Regina and Archie.
8. Maleficent making amends with Aurora.

ParticipantQuote I count Smash the Mirror as two episodes. I don’t care what A&E said, TV has standards.
Actually if we separated episode 8 into 2 episodes, we can say S4A had 12 episodes, they seem to forget that ouat doesnt air only in US/canada with 2 hours so that they can try to cheat people into thinking was only one episode, outside US episode 100 of ouat was 511 bc they in most of the countries s4 had 23 episodes, that if we add 11 episodes this season, that makes episode 100 the episode 511 in most of foreign coutries.
Yes, 4A was 12 episode. I don’t get why people take their words as if they were written in Stone. Yes Smash the Mirror was split and labeled as 408 and 409 in a lot of countries, in abc’s official website, in iTunes, Google play, Netflix, Hulu and What not. The DVD specifically says 23 episodes. That whole “100th episode” to be spring premiere is just for marketing, remember when 511 was slated to be the spring premiere, that was supposed to be the “100th episode”, then suddenly they got another episodes in 5A and Smash the Mirror became one episode again and season 4 suddenly has 22 episodes (after Adam said otherwise on both numerous time), that is just another instance of him bullshitting his fans according to what suits him, regardless if it doesn’t mathematically make sense.
P.S: notice that abc has never promoted 512 as the 100th episode so far and that’s because it doesn’t align with how they numbered the episodes.

ParticipantPan’s arc wasn’t really 11 episodes (more like 17) and it was a direct continuation from s2. Seasons 1-3A told a good flowing story, things that happened in S1 affected S2 and S3A, and things that happened in S2 affected S3A. While they told three different stories (101-122, 201-216, 217-311), everything was a part of one larger story. When I’m talking about the 11-episodes, I’m talking about 3B-5A, because what we got is: 9 episodes – Zelena. Then suddenly stops, I think 320 is one of the most ridiculous episodes of the series. 2 episodes – CS filler movie, while butchering Snowing’s backstory. 11 episodes – Frozen cash grab. 6 episodes – Queens of Dumbass. 6 episodes – The Author. 11 episodes – Dark Swan. There were fillers even after the new format: 3B: 314, 317, 321-322. 4A: 402, 404, 405, 412. 4B: 415, 416, 419. 5A: 502, 503, 504, 506, 509.
Frozen was 10 episodes. I’m actually wondering if the split may have been caused by the original plan for Wonderland.

The original split was because of something related to abc, which I don’t remember, but OUAT wasn’t the only series that split the season that year. The following year, abc let them keep it that way.

ParticipantExcept that they don’t want to. The two halfs format, which is partly to be blamed, have been criticized a lot, but they kept saying that that’s what works best for them (because that way they can just write 11 episodes and just forget about them and do something new and unrelated to the overall narrative of the show. In other words, that allows them to be lazy). As long as they keep the two halfs format, they will never allow characters to be properly fleshed out, everything will be contrived just to finish it fast and move on to the next shiny toy.

ParticipantThe characters need to be consistent and they need to grow and they need to react to these things that happen to them and they don’t.
Agreed. I think the major reason the characters are inconsistent is because they try to cram too much plot into the story and then they need the characters to behave accordingly in order to move the plot along, instead of how they should react and behave to something, which is certainly a form of bad writing. But if they slow it down, and just focus on how the characters should behave instead of what they have been doing, I think they can fix it. If Snowing starts exhibiting more intelligence than that of a rock, and moving forward, doesn’t just leave their son behind because A&E needed them in the underworld for plot reasons, couldn’t that help fix them? Some characters have been assassinated for sure, but if they bring them back to how they should be acting, yes you could see that as inconsistent again, but if they stick with it, it would be better for the show. If you murder a character with inconsistent dialogue and behavior, can’t you bring them back to life with better writing and less plot driven motivations?
Except that they don’t want to.
