If Belle were to die, yeah…….I’d quit. I’d be losing my 2nd favorite character after Gold and I’d be losing Rumbelle.

I agree. Gale farm. And yes, hello mystery man #2

    :) me too

Yay, she’s part of that big story………I wonder if people aside from Neal will talk to her, lol

I literally freaked out over that tweet, but other people have calmed me down. I really don’t think, for many reasons, that it’s Belle………….and as I keep being reminded Adam/Eddy have said they hope Belle fans will enjoy her story. Death is not enjoyable, lol

I always thought he might die. Maybe he still will or maybe this will just be a continuation of his life’s story, which is that he’s a Shakespearean tragedy on two legs. Of course if he died, the Belle would be denied her happy ending……If she dies, she doesn’t have one. Adam tweeted it tonight and he’s right: ”Fairy Tales have danger and consequences:”. I’m not happy about this, of course, ESPECIALLY if it’s Belle or Bae, but it doesn’t surprise me…….well Bae would. Belle? Nope.

I think Rumple will get his happy ending, precisely bedause he was willing to sacrifice himself to save Belle and and Baelfire. He told his son he wanted to give him a second chance to be happy (though Rumple believes just not with him). Rumple did the brave thing, overcame his cowardice, and willingly sacrificed himself in a hero’s end. He is no longer a villain. If either of them were to die now, then Rumple’s ‘undoing’ would be for naught. I don’t think Rumple is permanently dead (after all, Robert Carylyle was excluded form the list of candidates). That strongly suggests that Rumple’s “undoing” isn’t his final death; it might just be the undoing of his dark one curse.

I agree, and yes, I think his saving Belle and Bae only to have either one die not long after would be unbearably cruel……..but then again, that’s still been his life story, even when he wasn’t a “villain”.

I meant that I expected that Gold would die at the end of the series……..and he still might.

I’m guessing based on Adam’s quotes about Emilie’s performances that she’s getting meaty material. I have to imagine Belle is going to be shattered, bereft, distraught…….and ANGRY about Gold’s death. Perhaps she’ll even strike out at Hook and/or Regina for stealing precious time from she and Gold.  I would imagine that that would be part of her story…….. Today she was filming on what appears to be a Kansas set (Gale farmhouse), so she’s involved there.  With Belle, it appears that she will have pretty good story…….but the question is: assuming Rumbelle reunites, just WHAT will A/E do with them? If they are in SB, which I think they will be, then they actually NEED to NOT separate Rumbelle again and give them screen time. This means dealing with Gold being mortal and facing lifes ups and downs together. She also needs to open that damn library and make it a social center for the town. I LOVED seeing her in that environment.
It just makes no sense. If they brought her on as a regular based on her popularity, then they can’t possibly expect anything less than huge viewer loss if they got rid of her (both Belle and Rumbelle/Belle fans).  ABC would be deluged with furious fans…..

So I guess my point is: IF Adam and Eddy want to end Rumbelle and deny both Gold and Belle their happy endings, yeah they can kill her off…..IF they don’t, then they need to keep her on and actually use her
I can see then wanting to have Gold flip out and go off the deep end, but to me, that requires that Belle die, not Bae. In the S2 finale, once Belle was restored, he seemed to be handling Bae’s death fairly well. I think with Belle to support him and love him, he’d be ok……..and remember that he didn’t even know if his son would forgive him or if he still loved him.  If Bae were to die now, at least he’d know he had both Bae’s love and forgiveness. I’m not saying that Gold would not flip out, but as a long term arc?  To me, it would be Belle who’d have to go because Belle is the one who believed in him, who loved him and who never gave up on him. Bae would have his own personal life, but Gold’s life is tied up with Belle….and as Bobby has said repeatedly, she’s his moral compass, his emotional center. Without her, as we saw in Lacey, he’d have no anchor…….we saw that he was ready to just give in to his despair and darkness.

Phee, I agree 100%…….. I mean, they could no longer claim that this show is about HOPE if Gold didn’t get his happy ending.  If Belle were to die, god……that would be the worst.  I posted about this earlier, but she IS hope……and she gave him hope.  Her life would be a litany of tragedy; she would have lost 30 years thanks to Regina, would have lost weeks thanks to Hook……is going to lose at least a year thanks to Pan.  For kind, compassionate and strong Belle to die after all that’s happened to her would be inexplicably tragic.

Precisely. I think a lot of us were lulled into believing this PA, because the death rumor turned out to be true. What may NOT be true is that the actor wanted to leave or was fed up, or whatever. That part of the rumor might just be hearsay.

That’s very true. But sadly, we’re still loosing someone. One of our major characters isn’t getting their happily ever after. Adn I know they never promised that but come on…it’s a show about fairy tales. They end with happily ever afters. Didn’t we all think that the final ever episode wold be called “Happily Ever After” and just be a big joyous love fest for EVERYONE. So Henry looses his father, Rumple looses his son, and Emma looses someone she has always loved in some way.

Well we do not know it’s Neal………and to be honest, I have always had my doubts as to whether Gold would have his happy ending…..or even Rumbelle.    This is ONCE, not Disney…..and we were outright warned by  Adam and Eddy about this so for my part, no……I didn’t think necessarily that everyone would get their HEA.

Gold, to me, has been an incredibly tragic figure…. I don’t know that they want him to be happy, whether that means he’s lost Belle or Bae……I don’t know. I always thought he might die. Maybe he still will or maybe this will just be a continuation of his life’s story, which is that he’s a Shakespearean tragedy on two legs. That said, I posted why I don’t think it’s Belle earlier……here it is again. One caveat: If it’s about story, then Belle should die because she has none of her own. She might get some for now, but overall, she has none unless it’s with Gold.

Adam did say that he hopes we like Belle’s story………I find it hard to believe we’d like her death.  After ALL of their separations, wasting Bobby and Emilie’s incredible chemistry…..yeah, it would make for awful storytelling

I think Gold could survive if he had Belle (and once he restored her in S2 fiale, he was handling Bae’s death reasonably well). I think if Belle were to die, the one person in the world who believed in him always, the woman he wanted to spend eternity with, Gold would be shattered. I don’t know how he’d go on. That’s utter hopelessness and not a story I’d want to see

ONCE is a famiily show and while I don’t think they should or ARE beholden to little tykes, asking parents to have to explain why Belle, a favorite princess, has been killed is asking a lot. ABC would get bombarded with phone calls and basically the attention would not be good.

I was also  just thinking: Remember that Eddy joked at Paley (or was it CC) about how Twitter would erupt if Rumbelle didn’t have a happy ending?  He actually said something like  ”well, it’s not like people on twitter don’t make their feelings known”, lol

RG, the only ones who were promised Happy Endings were Snowing, as A/E said at Paley. They actually outright said in article that NOT everyone will get their happy endings (I believe this was in an EW magazine from last October)……

Adam is tweeting that it’s storyline related, so if that’s the case, I think it could be Hook. He has no connections to anyone except possibly Emma and if they want to make him go out a hero, they could do that. If they killed Neal or Belle, after Gold just “died” to save them, (a) that’s just awful writing and (b) loads of story potential for future seasons goes down the drain

I’m SO sorry about your father………….

Someone mentioned that Emilie is going to the Paris Fairy Tale convention in June, so that would leave her out……… possibly, but of course she could always cancel.

Another reason for Belle to die:

We DID see Gold nearly lose it and go completely dark when he thought that he could never retrieve Belle from Lacey………As much as he loves his son, Gold’s moral center (as Bobby always talks about), his emotional touchstone, is Belle. Without her, I think even with Bae, he’d lose it.
