I hope they can pull Belle’s time and Lacey into the story arc to maybe understand and support Rumple when he has to cope with/ going dark once he’s back in SB.
He’s going to need that love and support – but he’ll have to open up to her for that. She’s certainly going to want to know what happened – and really, there’s nothing he can’t tell her. She loves him, no matter what – she loves him and she will want to help him.

I did find that whole “going dark again” and he “doesn’t want her to see what he’s about to do” statement surprising as well, since I thought he left her behind so she wouldn’t see him die. Unless they mean dark like….depressing and “I’m going to die” lol. YAY for Bandit Snow and Charming! It’s about time! So sick of them being MM and David!
I suspect it’s all of those things…..they just don’t always mention it. They said in that other interview that he left Belle behind to protect her ….from many things, so that means from Neverland from Hook/Regina – maybe even himself in that he doesn’t want her to see what he’s capable of.
Since they knew they were going to NL, and Gold knows that Pan is very dangerous, he must also know that the only way to fight that darkness is to be dark. I think evil depends on good to be TOO good, to be so good that evil will win almost by default……..but here it seems like we’re going to have good people getting tough, a morally gray Gold who is trying desperately to be good going dark again………….For Gold, I think he’s going to do what he has to do figuring he’s going to die anyway, but once it’s apparent that he’s going to survive, what happens when he gets to SB? He’s really going to need Belle more than ever to try and……..sort of get out of that dark mode and back onto the light path
betsypaige24ParticipantIt all sounds interesting, but does that mean only the JR characters are core…….including Hook? Not Belle or Bae?
I really think Gold and Pan are going to duke it out big time……I think the prophecy is about Pan being his undoing….

Are they implying that he might have to do bad things in order to save Henry? Sometimes you do have to go there, but it’s interesting that he doesn’t want Belle to see that. Is he afraid she might not love him? She HAS seen him do some bad things, specifically in Lacey, and she knows about his past, so what is he so frightened of that she might see him go dark?
Also, this sort of puts to rest the notion that he left Belle behind so she could be a hero.

According to the Director’s Guild of BC Production List, Once Upon a Time season three will only shoot for seven months!
That’s a whole three months without our favourite cast members in Vancouver. So why the change in filming schedule for the hit ABC TV show?
This is pure speculation. Adam and Eddy are the ones I’d listen to about news like this and they’ve tweeted and said at the last panel that SB is still a major place for the plot of S3.
It’s also wrong….. The guy at Van City initially said they’d be shooting from July through January, but he got a wrong report. The shooting schedule is still July through April…..
Thanks for the Jane interview! She is such a troll, lol……..Of course Gold is coming back and yeah, of course Rumbelle will have scenes together……… we hope, lol. I have no doubt at this point that we will get significant Belle scenes. SB is still going to be the home base going forward, so it has to remain viable. Remember what Em said a week or so ago: Belle will be devastated about his absence when the show returns. “But also she’ll gain her strength back and she’ll have to if she’s going to protect an entire town.”
Belle has a big job to do and it’s nothing to take lightly; she doesn’t just have to protect the town, but care for it.
She loves Belle, that seemed clear from this. I recall that when someone asked her to describe Emilie on one word, she said “talented”. That is a huge compliment from a writer, who depends on actors to breathe life into their words. She also said in a radio show interview, talking about the chipped cup smashing scene, that you give your best actors the meatiest material because you want them to do what they are born to do: act. I suspect jane really likes writing for Belle.

It depends on how you define a relationship. What’s different with those characters and real life is that TRUE LOVE is an actual tangible thing there. It can be proven, in our reality it’s a feeling or an assumption but there is no *proof*. Belle and Rumple don’t need to go on dates and hold hands and do the “relationship” thing because they know they’re true love. Separating them isn’t going to destroy that, they just as established as Snowing, and it has nothing to do with marriage, but with their feelings toward one another. What the separation will do is make Belle a stronger character, make her something other than just Rumple’s girlfriend. And then they come back together and we’ll see them develop. Both Rumple and Belle have to grow as individuals too, not just as a couple.
That’s a very good point……..oh and I agree they don’t need to date. I mean, even in SD, they knew each other pretty intimately (because they talked).
I think what they have is certainly at least as strong as Snowing and I think that being apart only strengthens them and their love. I guess if I want to be fair, we didn’t see Snowing do the dating thing either. They were attracted to each other, figured out they loved each other – then they were married.
Belle should always have been more than just Gold’s GF, but as I posted before, I do give them something of a a pass for S2 given that making Em a regular entailed a LOT of adjusting of Gold’s arc – and of course there were some things they couldn’t change.
It will certainly allow Belle to interact more with others, which is needed,. I mean, Archie didn’t thank her for saving his life – and we should have gotten more GrumpBelle. That will probably be a key relationship for her – maybe even Granny. I really hope that the Charmings will look at Belle like a real human being and not an outsider because she loves the man they…….don’t love, shall we say. I suspect she will gain a lot of respect from those on the JR (not Gold, obviously, who has always respected her) because hey, she’s obviously saving the town and caring for the people.
I suspect Gold will be in a better place when he returns, possibly feeling somewhat better about himself – and he will be SO proud of Belle (and totally NOT surprised at what she will have accomplished).
I have a feeling that Pan will be his undoing, but possibly in a good way……and if he does lose some of his powers/magic/whatever, it would be interesting to see the ramifications internally. How would he react to being ” just a man” again. Maybe he’ll lose his immortality? It could be interesting……Who knows? Every time I’ve speculated on something that makes sense, it never happens, lol.
I truly look forward to a strong and vibrant Belle, the strong woman who remains strong despite Hook and Regina’s actions…… I suspect she won’t take crap from anyone anymore and she’ll continue to defend her man like she did in the Cricket Game.
To me, Rumbelle is truly exceptional; they could be one of the best tv couples ever if given a shot. I hope you’re right and they will develop apart and together……..I really think a storyline with them trying to forge a relationship with Bae could be incredibly emotional. I so want this – give me their romance and a Bae storyline and I’m happy.
I really loved your points; thanks !! I have to say, though, that no Rumbelle for about 11 episodes is going to kill me.
SB is not shut down. Adam said so on Twitter, they are still going to be using the town very heavily. It’s shut down for the summer, but it’s going to be re-opened for filming in July.
Yep, they are doing more studio shooting, but still shooting outside in Steveston. Gold’s shop is done for, however….that’s moving to a studio. I’ll be in Vancouver for a couple of days in August prior to a cruise; I want to meet Bobby so much, lol. I’d love to meet Emilie, but the odds on meeting both in that short time are almost nil.
betsypaige24ParticipantHmm, I wish I had confidence in Adam and Eddy. Adam tweeted responses to fans concerned about Rumbelle separation (these tweeters suggested that other couples should be separated as well) by saying that Snowing, Nea/Emma have also been separated.
I’ll leave the latter out, but while it’s true about Snowing, they were married at the time of the curse – and obviously at the time Snow and Emma went to present day FTL. Rumbelle is not only not married, but they do they really have a relationship? At times it seems they have a series of moments and certainly feelings, but they’ve been separated for 99% of the time since Skin Deep. Comparing them to an established couple like Snowing is wrong; how on earth can they develop and grow when they are constantly apart?
Adam and Eddy don’t get this at ALL.
