ParticipantAnd what exactly was TBFs motivation in all of this? I hope we get some answers at some point.

ParticipantI don’t think it was killing The Black Fairy that he thought would give him Savior powers, I think he said he wanted to kill Emma to get Savior powers so that he could kill TBF.
And sure I can see given his, let’s call it ‘upbringing’, he might want to kill TBF. But why does he think he needs Savior powers to do it? And does it really make sense that Savior Light Magic is transferred through murder just like the Dark One Magic? That just doesn’t feel right.

ParticipantI really need a scene of Henry trying to explain his family tree. “My mom is Emma and my dad is Neal. He is also called Baelfire; he originally came from the Enchanted Forest but left when his dad–my grandpa, Rumplestiltskin–became the Dark One. Grandpa did this after his wife, my grandma Milah, left him to run off with the pirate, Captain Hook. He’s dating my mom now. Hook, my kinda sorta step-grandfather, not my grandpa, Rumplestiltskin. Though both are equally weird and incestuous. Fun fact! My kinda sorta step-grandfather Hook sold my father Baelfire to Peter Pan in Neverland. Turns out…Peter Pan? Totally my great grandfather. Isn’t that neat? Peter Pan was once called Malcolm and he had some sort of relationship with the Black Fairy. She’s my great grandmother. I’m part fairy! My grandpa Rumple got re married to a nice girl named Belle; they have a new son. His name is Gideon and he’s my…uncle? Step uncle? Now on the other side of my family tree, my mom’s dad is David. He was a farmer. He had a twin but the twin got sold by my Great Grandma Ruth and my other (non step) great grandfather. I don’t know his name. He died in a drunk wagon accident. The twin, my great uncle, was named James. He was raised by King George who is sort of my great grandfather? Who knows, really. Continuing on….my mom’s mom is Snow White. She was born to my other great grandparents Leo and Ava. Ava died when grandma Snow was little and Great Grandpa married Regina. Here’s another really super duper fun fact! Regina’s mom Cora, my non-biological grandma and step Great Great Grandma (more on that in a second!) almost married my Great-Great Grandpa Leo! They like totally made out and stuff. Leo didn’t like her that much in the end and she ended up marrying Henry who is both my grandpa and my step great great grandpa! I’m named after him. Neat, right? Oh. I almost forgot. My step great grandma, Regina? She’s my other mom!”
Again this really is great and a speech like this (maybe to Violet?) would be very funny.
Gideon and he’s my…uncle?
That wants to kill my mother Emma and my adoptive aunt zelena that is the wicked witch of the west killed my father.
Absolutely insert this line and add to it
…my adoptive aunt zelena that is the wicked witch of the west killed my father …and I guess we’re all OK with that now.

ParticipantI seriously doubt its the last we see of her, but it was rather fun and if nothing else it proved that Morpheus/Gideon/cloak man has strong magic to be able to do that to her so easily.

ParticipantAlso, someone wanna tackle why neither Rumple nor Belle brought up Black Fairy as Rumple’s mother three years ago when they went to fetch her wand? Anyone…anyone? *crickets*
Probably brain damage from all the times Belle has been knocked unconscious over the seasons. That’s why she forgets little things like who her mother-in-law is or if she’s done with her husband today or not.
My guess on why Black Fairy abandoned Rumple has something to do with Sneaky Blue who was probably abhorred by the very idea of a fairy having a baby with a blacksmith’s apprentice.

ParticipantBelle, make up your mind! I will never take you back then in the next moment if you do this you will loose me forever.
Does Belle truly believe that Rumple would hurt her and her son, apparently so which is what makes me so angry. THIS is what the writers have done to this ship. They took a couple who completely loved each other and would never hurt each other and completely tore them apart. Both Rumple and Belle have spent all season hurting each other emotionally and verbally which is just sad.
This is exactly how I feel. I’m so tired of the same pattern repeating from Belle. She’s been changing her mind every five minutes since season 4 and jerking Rumple around so much I (almost) don’t blame him for going darker. At the same time, I’m not really thrilled about Rumple either because his character has been swinging back and forth so much in this season that I really thought (though I assume this theory is now busted?) that he was either split into good/evil Rumples or was someone else (like Morpheus) in disguise. Can we please just have some consistency?
Liked:
Rumple’s mom being the Black Fairy. It’s been a pet theory of mine (and I’m sure others as well) for some time that Rumple’s mom was a fairy and that was somehow tied in with why he hated fairies (not that Blue wasn’t reason enough).
Mixed:
Aladdin becoming the genie wasn’t something I expected, but it’s a nice twist I guess. The only problem is I don’t care much about him, her or their story at this point.
Disliked:
No need to go further into Rumple and Belle’s relationship, but it pretty much belongs down here.
Zelena suddenly being so easy to beat in a witch fight.
Hook & Emma ‘protecting’ Belle from Rumple, while basically using her as a way to try and find out about Emma’s problems.
Belle giving her son to BLUE of all people to raise. How does she know that sending her son away to live with the fairies (or whoever Blue dumps him off on) isn’t exactly what makes him such a jerk? …I”m still holding out hope that ‘Morpheus’ person isn’t their son, but even if it’s true how is all this supposed to help him?

ParticipantCan Emma TLK her mother or father awake? By this point, she must have family-true love with them, sort of like with Henry in S1.
Good point. Judging by the original dark curse break in s1 parent child love should be perfectly suitable to break this curse. I hope they address this point in the next episode and find some vague reason why this won’t work so I don’t spend the next few episodes yelling, ‘just kiss your dad already!’ at my tv.

ParticipantYou know when Snow and Charming heard that their child had a mere ghost of a chance of becoming dark they freaked out and threw another baby through a portal and made her dark instead. And they did that incredibly foolish and wrong thing together.
Belle hears from Zelena, who heard from EQ, who assumed that Rumple wanted to sheer away the baby’s destiny to become a morose dream god and she’s all ‘nuh uh, you’re not changing our son’s crappy future’. …sometimes I don’t know whether to laugh or cry at this wreck of a relationship.

ParticipantI liked the Snowing love montage and I thought the heart twist with one of them always being asleep was a clever way to make the Charmings miserable without killing one of them.
I disliked the flashback with Snow and Charming meeting through a door and the sapling tree thing was stupid.
I hate the latest Rumple storyline where he’s with the EQ almost as much as I’ve hated basically every Rumple storyline since 4a. Granted there have been a few nice moments scattered widely over the last few years, but the show seems determined to rip everything we loved about Rumple and Belle in Skin Deep to shreds and now they’ve basically lit that pile on fire. Why can’t Rumbelle fans have nice moments to cherish too?

ParticipantI don’t know how they’ll break it, but I’m sure they will. Probably sooner then we expect.
Actually I think this is one of the better magical plot twists they’ve had recently.
