ParticipantI thought she and Henry had the chemistry that Henry and Cindy lack. It’s true she might be evil, maybe even a bigger bad than her boring mom, but we’ve seen no real evidence of that so far. At the moment I’m inclined to be believe she’s just a spoiled selfish person who is finally learning to care about someone else. Maybe she felt unloved as a child because her mom doted on Anastasia instead of her? I think her interest in Henry will parallel (as the writers LOVE to do) the David/Snow/Catherine story-line from the first season.

ParticipantAs expected there were a lot of tears shed tonight. I should probably be drinking water right now rather than typing.
I wouldn’t say this episode was as good as Skin Deep but it bookends it nicely and if they would care to sell the two episodes as a single movie with a few minor edits to take out unrelated plot points like ‘girls night’ and ‘Lucy’…it would certainly sell to me.
Emotionally I loved this episode, I’m just not sure if the actual content works or not. I found Belle’s translation of the fairy text (was it my imagination or did Rumple show a little disdain at the mention of a ‘fairy’ text?) hard to understand. I’m not sure why Belle had to die when her death doesn’t seem to have changed anything. I was expecting some sort of true love’s kiss to do…something like maybe break the dark curse and release Rumple from the dagger once and for all. A human Rumple would be an interesting change. Even if I am looking forward to seeing the Dark One firebomb Tremaine at some point.
As for this guardian gobbledygook…I don’t know. He needs to find the guardian so they can what…kill him and become the new dark one? Break his curse so he can die? Will the final shot of Rumple in Once be him and Belle meeting in heaven (bonus points for a Baelfire sighting!). Is Alice The Guardian since he ran right into her after portaling out to find this guardian? Or is it Henry who sped by moments later? Will any of this make sense by Christmas?
Once again it can’t be overstated how good an actress and character Alice is. She is the best thing this new cast has to offer by a mile. Let’s hope they don’t ruin her with too much lucidity. I am disappointed that she isn’t a Stiltskin. Could we maybe trade out The Black Fairy and get Alice christened into the Rumbelle family please?
And Rumple wasn’t awake as Weaver after all. That must be one heck of a powerful curse to fool the Dark One. Must be all the years of abstaining from using the dagger. Oh well, he’s awake NOW and I’m looking forward to seeing him beat Tremaine at her own game.

ParticipantI’m past guessing what they will do at this point. I’m just hoping that tonight will be beautiful.

ParticipantI’m already tearing up just seeing the stills. God help me tonight when the actual episode airs.
Can anyone tell me who is the man with the long grey hair who looks vaguely like Brent Spiner but isn’t? Is he the director or a writer or what? Maybe he’s ‘another realm’s’ Merlin and he shows up to send Rumple to HH to help Henry.

ParticipantI’m not as observant of the actual passage of time as you clearly are, so I always assumed that it was longer just because of Henry, but if you’re right and you probably are, then they really should’ve thrown in a couple of ‘one year later‘ cards somewhere along the line to explain Henry’s obvious aging.
But then again these are the same people who thought killing off Baelfire was a swell idea and then there was that nifty Marion/Zelena/Robin storyline… so really Henry’s aging is the least of my complaints when I think about it.
Don’t even get me starting on ‘Wish Realm’…lol

ParticipantWell as long as Rumple and Belle get some genuine happiness I’m all for the who wants to live forever ending. While I would like to see them have more children (that are NOT kidnapped/abandoned and otherwise suffering), I don’t mind if Alice is their granddaughter rather than a daughter. I just want her to be related to them because she seems so cool and on this show all the best characters end up being related to Rumple in some way.
The timeline will hopefully be explained, even if in some offhand hand-wavy way. I think MP is probably right that they’re living elsewhere than Storybrooke and in that elsewhere time moves faster. Possibly MUCH faster. I’m expecting some ‘Up’ parallels…which means lots of tears come Friday.

ParticipantI don’t hate the idea of Belle growing old and dying as long as it’s part of her happily ever after with Rumple. It’s very romantic in a way like the scene in Highlander with Heather dying in Conner’s arms. But hopefully with a better make-up job or preferably an older actress cast to play elderly Belle.
As for Gideon’s age relating to all the other timeline issues with Henry and Lucy…at this point the timeline is so wibbly wobbly that it makes River Song’s timeline in Doctor Who look simple. I don’t know that there even is an explanation to be had. Gideon will be twentish years old because the actor they hired is in his twenties.

ParticipantI am so excited for this one!

ParticipantI think this was definitely the best of season seven so far. It will probably get surpassed by next week’s Alice/Rumple/Belle centric, but for now at least it’s the best.
I liked that we learned what Tremaine’s goal is (watch out Henry/Lucy!) and the woman in the tower at the end (is this New Rapunzel?).
Weaver’s long game gave me happy chills.
I think Daniel is right that since ‘Wish Realm’ was supposedly created by a wish only maybe 15-20 years ago than Wish Realm Hook’s daughter can’t possibly be any older than that…however, I don’t think the writer’s care about that point, so yeah, I still think Hook’s daughter could be any age (and is probably Rapunzel).
I don’t really have a lot to complain about this week. If I have one it’s that I’m still not on board with New Cinderella (I didn’t like old Cinders much either come to think of it). I don’t know if it’s the coward thing like Nonnie said or just the general unhappiness of her character so far, I just haven’t been able to embrace her yet and I really hope that changes soon since she’s obviously so important to Henry’s story.

ParticipantWhat do you think life has in store for Emma back in Storybrooke? What will Hook and Emma call the baby?
My votes go towards some pirate puns (Jolly) Roger for a boy or Peggy for a girl.
