Sigh… CaptainSwan has not totally sunk yet, but the last episode was a bit of an iceberg. It also left me cold…how is it possible for Hook to take hearts? Didn’t Regina get all kinds of special training from Rumple to do that?
I honestly don’t know what to think anymore. If he’s playing both sides, he’s doing a great job. I still thinks he cares about Emma, and he just panicked. I also thought maybe he thinks there’s no way the girls will be able to get past Cora without a man on the inside. But the whole thing with Aurora’s heart is way too creepy…arrgh! I’m getting Sawyer flashbacks. He did some pretty despicable things in the first two seasons of Lost…

Saw this over my other thread great for CaptainSwan fans http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPuw_fSv_Jc&feature=g-upl
Awesome video! I actually laughed out loud when MM says, “Back away from my daughter!” after the kiss (from another show/movie obviously). I can see CaptainSwan is getting a lot of YouTube love already… 😆

bigredParticipantbigredParticipantHurray for the CaptainSwan thread!!! And a big thanks to Steliokontos for the awesome gifs!
I think most of us agree on one MAIN point: Hook saw right through Emma and he gets her like no one else does. Not even her mother gets what she’s been through (remember the first episode when Snow was all like, “Yay! The family is reunited!” and Emma was like, “Hey, hold on. I need some time to process this. I’ve been through some serious crap, here.” All Hook had to do was see the look in her eyes (the same look the Lost Boys have – ummm wonder if Hook was an orphan himself…)
What she did to Hook at the end of Tallahassee was her reaction to what happened with Neal. She could not allow herself to risk making that mistake again. And because Hook gets her, it’s just going to make him want to prove himself to her all the more. What we’re seeing this season is Emma’s struggle to overcome her own personal demons, issues related to her abandonment as a child and distrust of men. Hook is very perceptive and he sees what’s going on.
Not so sure about the Neal=Bae theory anymore, or if he’s Emma’s end game after all. All I know is this: when Emma sees him again, she’s not going to like it one bit. She’s had 11 years to let all of her disappointment, regret and anger fester inside. She’s not going to trust him. If he is her end game it’s going to take a while for him to regain her trust…..meanwhile we can only hope CaptainSwan gets stronger and stronger, and maybe she won’t even need Neal after all.
On a personal level, watching CaptainSwan is more fun than Emma-Neal. I find that Neal is a pretty dull character, at least so far, we might be in for a surprise. But I did not see anything outstanding except for a lot of cute smiles and winks. They were just a couple of kids together.

In fact I feel like it’s Lost all over again where there were 2 main legit ships and mine was not the one we ended up with *grrrrrrrr*
Did you ship Skate, too? Sigh….I’m getting this feeling all over again…Hook is like Sawyer on so many levels…hope this time the writers choose the right ship! 😀

You know who will always find Emma, don’t you?

Oh, and I agree on the note of this episode sinking SwanHook. Not for the VIEWERS mind you, but for the canon of the show. Maybe Hook was semi-sorta into Emma, but that was stopped when she betrayed him and left him up with a giant. Now she’s on his list – not as high up as Rumpel, of course, but she’s on it. It was the perfect set-up for him going straight back to Cora and joining her season 2 villain brigade.
If there’s something I’ve learned from seeing how they handle relationships on this show is that they don’t introduce an idea unless they intend for it to go somewhere. This thing between Hook and Emma will come up again this was just the start.
Steliokontos. I’m still with you 100%!!! The fact that Emma left him with the giant will only make him want her more. He will not see it as a “betrayal”. He will see it as her not trusting him yet, and he’ll make that his mission: to gain her trust. Because he likes her. He can tell she’s special. The thing at the giant’s is just a minor setback to him.
Btw, your gif makes me swoon 😆 CaptainSwan all the way!!!

I think I’m clear on who I’m shipping lol, I think Emma & Hook would be great very complicated very interesting.
I’m with you steliokontos…This is the way I see it: Hook truly loved Milah and he wants to get revenge on Rumple for taking both his hand and his true love. But I see him falling hard for Emma, too. He likes her spirit and that she’s not the typical girly princess. I think for a while we may see Emma interested in him, too. That is until she meets up with Neal again.
The show’s producers are totally going to draw this out as long as they can. They’re not going to get Emma and Neal together soon. So in the meantime, she’ll have this flirty relationship with Hook to keep her (and us!) entertained. I’m afraid it’ll be the Jack-Kate-Sawyer triangle from Lost all over again. We’ll have Team Hook and Team Neal. and no show would be complete without this. Emma still has a whole lot of issues to sort out before she’s ready for a serious relationship again and a lot of soul searching to do before she can trust a man again.
bigredParticipantWe didn’t see enough of Hook/Emma to really judge if there was chemistry – they were barely introduced to each other. I’m guessing there will be chemistry…and soon. As for SwanFire…I wouldn’t put it past the writers to create a love triangle, very similar to what they did in Lost. How many times did Kate swing back and forth from Jack to Sawyer? I can see Emma starting some sort of “relationship” with Hook this season, only to run into Bae (at the end of the season?) and throw us all for a loop. It will definitely get interesting romantic-wise, but I don’t think Emma’s love story will be as straightforward as her parents’.

AS I said in another thread …. HOOK IS NOTHING BUT A SCHOOL YARD BULLY ….picking on weaker people than himself….. Not as bad as RUMPLE’s killing Mihla but then we do not see him doing anything. But Pirates are not noted for their gentle natures.
Of course he’s a bully! He’s a PIRATE! And he’s not the first I’ve seen in OUAT. I remember one in particular (a “Dark” one) who turned a guy into a slug and STEPPED on him! But no one is completely good or bad, and the writers are always putting a new spin on these classic characters. The one true villain is probably Cora.
Now, strictly thinking about the “casting”. They picked a really good-looking guy to play him, and there’s a reason they’re straying from the typical portrayal of Hook as an older, unattractive man. We’ve got a really seductive Hook on our hands. That spells TROUBLE for the ladies of OUAT. Sighs will be uttered. Hearts will be broken (not torn out! just broken!) And girls fall for the bad boys. I’m just getting the sneakin’ suspicion this bad boy won’t stay bad for long….it’s about to get interesting romantic-wise…just saying…they’re not going to cast such fine piece of eye-candy and not give him a romantic interest. And if Hook falls in love (truly in love…I think he cared about Milah, but she was not his true love) what could be more powerful than true love to make him good? (We’ve already gotten a glimpse of that with Rumple and Belle…)
Can’t wait to see the next episode!
bigredParticipantFave moments: Hook, Hook and more Hook…totally hooked on Hook! Finding out that Rumple’s the crocodile in the Hook storyline, responsible for taking his hand….tic, toc, tic, toc…hahaha that was priceless. And the end, him wanting to “skin a crocodile” 😆
Least fave: ANY scene with Belle’s father. He disgusted me throughout the episode. Hope we never see him again
