Question- do you guys think OUAT suffers from oversharing? By that I mean I watch a lot of TV and no show has as many episode spoilers as OUAT-

So much of the premiere was avaliable in the form of sneak peeks before the episode aired this Sunday – for comparison -also an ABC show in also in its fifth season- Scandal had 2 sneak peeks prior to the airing of episode 1 – OUAT had 6

On average a sneak peek is about 2 minutes long that means 12 minutes of the premiere was online that’s nearly a quarter of the episode- I think that this could be a part of the problem

ABC had the biggest variables of the night with the addition of its two new dramas. After the season of Once Upon a Time returned to a 1.8 rating among adults 18-49, per Nielsen Media’s slightly delayed Fast Nationals, the network launched Blood and Oil and Quantico. The 9 p.m. soap averaged a 1.4 rating among adults 18-49 for its first time at bat, pulling 6.3 million viewers. As for Quantico, the drama did a 1.9 rating in the key demo and 7.1 million viewers.

So we were a bit high in our predictions but  the good news that the show didn’t lose any views from the last episode -it just didn’t gain any- also I wouldn’t give these initial ratings a lot of weight because it was a bad Sunday night over all for ABC -its highest rated show of the night only pulled a 1.9 so I think the Live+1 numbers will be a lot better

I totally agree with Jo -Honestly the addition of Viola Davis was the best thing that happened to this show because it not only added an AMAZING actress to the cast but also forced the show into a shorter season because of her contract

But The Catch looks good I’ll probably check it out

    Okay so 4 quick questions:

•If the show hadn’t opened under the Shondaland banner would it have opened as well?

•Who do you think Eggs911 is?

•What do you think the prosecution’s attorney has on Asher?

•Next main cast member to be killed?

    • If Annalise Keating had to represent one OUAT character who would it be and what did they do?

You don’t think ABC will let the show tiptoe with incest? What show do we all watch together, again? (hint: this forum is about that show) ? No, but my point is that there is a big difference between hinting and making allusions to and actually coming out and doing it. The siblings are almost pretty clearly in a sexual relationship. It will be talked about it when discovered but never fully shown like an HBO show would.

I think you misunderstood me I actually completely agree with the 2 siblings – I was talking about the Oedipal relationship between Wes and Annalise people were talking about IMO Annalise could either be Wes’s mom or could have some sort of a romantic/sexual relationship with him but not both because they would have to show that and that may be too far for ABC

People I know that this is a 10:00 show but still it’s on ABC not HBO I don’t think it would go that far- I have always had this theory that the fact that Wes got into the school two days before the first day of the semester is not a coincidence there is definitely a connection between Annalise and Wes but I don’t think it that Annalise is actually Wes’s mother – I think that Annalise is the reason Wes’s mom killed herself and Annalise feels responsible. Maybe his mom was the women Sam cheated on with Annalise or maybe early in Annalise’s career Annalise had tried to save her client and ending up wrongly throwing someone in Wes’s family under the bus (Step #2- find a new suspect-remember?)  But yeah I don’t think Annalis is his mom – especially because of the line that Michaela says when Asher asks that – “Because all black people are related?” If it did turn out that Annalise was Wes’s mom it would be in a way take away from everything that the show and the Shondaland brand stands for.

Biggest Question of the Season: Are Wes and Annalise going to have some weird creepy relationship not that both of there significant others are dead?

I predict a 2.2 premiere but I’ll do you one better I predict that this seaeson’s season low will be a 1.0- 0.9 and the premiere will be the high or the 100th episode (spring premiere) given the show’s track record I don’t think it’s going to hold a 2+ rating for longer than two episodes and then maybe again for spring premiere also I think Once will get a season 6 so long as there are no contractual issue does anyone know is this is a contract year for anyone?

Once Upon a Time ranked 5th in the list of most tweeted about returning fall show to compare – it was 10th last summer. So is there a renewed interest in the show or is it just that social networking is just more readily available?

I think we had a thread like this, but I want to play along anyway: Henry+Cinnabun= Hennabon hennabon I mean cinnamon sugar, hot delicious, goey, melted glaze, fresh out of the oven. If that’s not True Love than idk what is.

Didn’t know where to post this but I was curious as to why ABC stopped promoting OUAT at major ABC events- I can’t completely remember if this is true but no one in the cast was at Upfronts and there was no OUAT panel at the TCA press tour this year either and barely a mention -I know  OUAT was at  SDCC and will be at D23 could that be why? But OUAT went to both events last year and still went to upfronts and the TCA tour so I’m confused

Also in response to the article how important are VOD and DVR numbers? Isn’t a shows renewal and cancelation based on its commercial value? As in ad revenue so if you can skip the ads how does that benefit the channel and isn’t that the most important thing benefiting the brand with commercial gain
