“woobification”
(laughing)
yup. Epona, I feel your pain! While I have adored Regina from day one, Evil Queen, not so evil (but close) Mayor Mills, and even struggling to find the goodness within herself, this tawdry Robin Hood fiasco is totally cheapening her. (Face it, morally destroying the character of a most beloved and noble literary icon as Robin Hood has brought a destructive pall over a portion of the show. His whiney poon hound routine is tasteless dreck.)
Colassal shame.

Bo-PeepsParticipantLots of holiday action in the States, also winter setting in and causing some chaotic days in some places, a break in the ONCE action, a bit of weariness with the same, incessantly unappealing approaches of some postings, and general mid season blues would all lead to some slowdowns.
The cyclical nature of message boards everywhere 🙂 You wear out for a bit, then re-energize.
I think also, specifically relating to our beloved couple, small steps are wonderful and often heart satisfying but a big “reveal” and advancement in their air time is next to impossible with the sheer amount of storytelling that is taking place in the time they have. We are, as seen above, collecting some lovely visual moments . (Thank-you!) But after awhile you hunger for a meal not a snack ( grin) and fantasy can be greedy.
In the interim, we go into a quieter mode to keep ourselves attached to our individual realities!
All the story lines suffer when there is just too much happening. And there IS just too much happening!! There is no answer or remedy either, without some faction of the massive fandom being verbosely angry. TV combined with the Internet media frenzies creates an overload, at times, of obsessive speculation, rampant opinion and for the creators of all these shows, big headaches. The process of “Entertainment” is never calm.
It will all be back to normal chatting business, soon!
To everyone in the States, may you be able to be thankful for whatever brings you joy in your life as Thanksgiving approaches.  To the rest of the globe… Hug yourself, breathe and  be at peace!

Bo-PeepsParticipantAgreeing with much that has been posted.
As a viewer who has gleefully adored the Regina character from day one with a “yummy, snarky and sometimes psychotic evil can be such twisted alternate universe delight” I have had no problem with her wanting to have someone to love/love her. She has shown achingly real moments of tortured pain about where her “lives” have brought her. And yes, she has done heinous acts of raging hatred and narcissist induced cruelty. She is nothing if not vibrantly passionate in evil and honor! (Rumple is cut from the same strong character cloth)
This show is rife with flawed and struggling characters who for a multitude of reasons appeal to very specific  needs in the fans who adore them.  Truly, to each their own flavors of romantic tastes. Opinions are very personal, yes, but quite valid in their own clearly stated and defined threads (as PoM has created) as long as accusatory points remain focused on the characters and not others’ tastes in couplings.
This particular viewer’s opinion of Outlaw Queen has gone from “hmmm, with Maid Marian established as gone, let’s see where they take this angle, it could be quite the intelligent, sassy romp” to…”lip curling, sleezy ICK”
For all her strong and formidable emotional turmoil and passions, Regina deserves an equally passionate and deep pairing with someone as fully complex and rich in character as she is. I don’t like Outlaw Queen because the ridiculously common and shallow development of the man they call Robin Hood (but who shows precious little of the established literary character of the man of solid legend) is a totally inferior pairing.
My eye rolling distaste of how the Writers have disrespected the legend aside, (it happens- their story, their control) Â this man is a shallow, common, soap opera jerk. They have written him into a very unappealing and somewhat pruriently crude, stereotyped dud.

Bo-PeepsParticipantTo truly continue watching and enjoying ONCE, beside the visual satisfaction of Irish Pirates, fabulous dream costumes, kick booty female spirit and the Irresistable pull of MAGIC, I have to forget about lack of continuity, obsessive repetitive parallels and common sense. Fantasy blows holes in reality- and escapism, not literary perfection, is what I seek.
That in mind, I enjoyed the episode for what it did! It made me want to continue the crazy adventure.
Angst, meet Everyone!
Our smoldering good fellow Captain with inner torment is in direct line of serious fire! We knew it was coming and it is about to arrive! From Rumple, Snow Queen and yes, Elsa, if the nanosecond of Elsa icily reaching for his hand in the Sneak Preview is one if those ultra mini teases, he has the giant target on his back. whether Elsa would semi-freeze him for his own protection while all this “one last ingredient hat trick” comes down remains to be seen. His “Don’t do this” could easily be his plea to Elsa not to prevent him from actively doing the daring rescue of Emma. That would certainly set up a TLK Â for Emma to get him out of ice cube “carbonation ala Han Solo”. It would keep him away from lethal Rumple vengeance as well as Snow Queen’s raving lunacy of having Emma all to herself. Works for me but I am not in control (grin) And now that I think about it, Rumple might actually want more revenge against Anna which might make better sense in a Frozen arc! Snow Queen has no love lost for Anna either. Hmmmmm
Loved the furniture polish scene! Ha!
Rumple seems to be a tad sarcastically snarky towards Belle. Watch out, Lady.
Loved little girl Gerda to pieces.
Abhor Robin Hood for the total d*ckhead he is. Just foul.
Snow Queen is a fabulous sympathy creating villain  especially in comparison to  Zelena’s over the top wacko narcissist performance. But whatever she whispered was a lie, most assuredly. But it will give a Rumple the faux reason to be the recalcitrant power starved wretched baddy he is in his soul.
We are in for some wild and crazy chaos 🙂

Bo-PeepsParticipantYou think we fans get things mixed up? heh…
http://www.ksitetv.com/once-upon-a-time/captain-swan-on-once-upon-a-time-rules-reginaemma/46125
First, we asked Morrison and O’Donoghue, who play Emma Swan and Captain Hook, how well-versed the cast is with the show’s large mythology.
“I think the series regulars are all pretty on par with our knowledge of the mythology,” Jennifer told us. “There’s little details that we all help each other with. There’s different things that different people actually were present for. So, I have a lot more trouble with some of the Fairy Tale land mythology, because I’m not there for a lot of that, so if I don’t witness the actual filming of it, it’s different to only see it once and have read it, than to have been present for the filming of it,” she added.
“Sometimes you forget, too, and I go up and I ask… ‘hold on, I thought this wouldn’t happen if’ — and she’s like ‘no, no, no. This happened because of this’,” Colin added. “It’s like ‘okay.’ So that’ll happen then? Yeah. Okay, I get it now.”
“It’s more the guest cast that comes in, where we’re like ‘just trust us’,” Morrison said.
On with the angst tonight (today, tomorrow). It is surely going to ramp up for everyone in these episodes leading up to the grand poobah of mid season finales!!
Expect Chaos, breathe…laugh…snort…and enjoy 🙂
Just for the love of all things rapscallion loving, give me some good shots of my Irish Pirate!!!

Bo-PeepsParticipant“I think the haters are more upset by the comfort level Emma is showing with Hook by her genuine amusement at the Walsh comments he makes. The cracks she makes about his age he takes in the same manner. That’s what couples/friends do when they’re teasing each other.”
Yup.
surayya, I still believe that a lot of the hate for Hook is because many posters can’t handle the feelings he churns up inside them. They are afraid of him and those feelings. It isn’t necessarily Emma’s comfort level, it is that some of them have a certain *discomfort* for the sensuality he sometimes oozes (grin). When Emma was being snarky, it was something they could identify with as a defense mechanism against that *discomfort*. Now that they know Emma is indeed (as most of us knew) QUITE affectionate, soul-connected and fond of her pirate love, they have to find other piddling ridiculous reasons to try and diminish him.
Ain’t working !
PoM: The vision of Carlyle actually head butting anyone IS entertaining. Can he start with Robin Hood please?
***Always in search of a good flock***
Bo-PeepsParticipantThings will no doubt be heating up in CS Angstville for the remainder of the first half season!
Bring it on! This is what keeps this show entertaining 🙂 What with the new slug puddle Sneak Preview of the stink bomb that has been created for the Marian/Regina/(gag~ this is NOT Robin Hood) storyline, some fierce lovers angst or Rumple head butting would be welcomed. I hope we get to see more of the rapscallion. Turn that leather jacket collar up, Hook, and swash some buckles 🙂
***Always in search of a good flock***
Bo-PeepsParticipantLots of nodding at your thoughts, surayya 🙂
(I started out being somewhat brief. But of course failed miserably.)
My usually agreeable suspension of disbelief was fading in and out last evening but the rapid introduction/advancement of plot kept me hanging on because I still embrace the overall aura of the show ~and the deliciously dreaded angst potential thickened!!
One liners~cute!
Snow Queen is calmly psychotic and I love her cool “Stephen King” creepiness. Excellent portrayal.
Her beastly cruel, truth telling mirror bests Sydney’s by a good margin, it will be a shame when it shatters! I love the understated current of very adult psychological horror that A&E Â manage to intertwine with family hour storytelling.
Drama…dum dum dum Dummmmbelle! It is painful for me to watch the stupidity deepen in the portrayal of my favorite Disney Heroine. I just… No, I will leave it at that. She is what they have made her and I will never like the stuffed-nosed, clogged-throat vocal delivery of any line spoken by de Ravin. She is Rumple’s cross to bear and he, in an odd literary “just desserts” Dark One punishment, deserves her insipidness.
Robin Hood?  Why does Regina love this dude again? Regina, until her focused arc in season 2 is still annoyingly bi-polar, though much less so than last week. Might be best for me to take a healthy swig of memory loss potion for her weird character spasms of  the previous episode.
And after what is surely a dip in the ice coated, threatened life, sea of possible TLK scenarios for CS…we have young Hook coming!!!!
Huzzah! Huzzah!
***Always in search of a good flock***
Bo-PeepsParticipantI wasn’t at all conflicted about Zelena. I was glad Rumple sent her to the scenery chewing after-world of all things biliously green. I mean, the witch caused his son to make thoughtless moves that essentially signed his own death warrant, AND, she pointedly almost stepped right on Neal’s head when he lay dead on the ground. She had to go and Rumple HAD to do it.
And really, Regina. Regina Regina. There isn’t much she could have done to Rumple anyway if it was totally out in the open that he offed her half sister. That whole Regina being noble routine was…odd…even though at the time it supported her assumed redemption journey. The uneven handling of power balance between Regina and Rumple is iffy enough as it is without worrying about where Zelena-guilt would fit in, so….I don’t think about it! Rumple and Regina have so much to pay for already, Zelena wasn’t much of a blip on the *she deserved to live* screen. Compared to the consequences of killing Neal, Zelena didn’t mean squat.
Regina and Rumple are in such a deep mess of pay-backs/pay forwards/who pays for what that there is no definitive answer for either of them.
Interesting commentary on Graham. That came and went so fast in the scheme of things I didn’t totally grasp that Emma might not know of Regina’s culpability. But even so,  in the present scenario, Emma knew firsthand that Regina as Evil Queen had planned on killing Marian and she saw with her own eyes Snow being devoured by Regina flames. How in all things with half a brain Emma could overlook those truths and want to be Regina’s…genuine friend….now… Boggles the mind.
So I don’t think about it. (grin) The suspension of disbelief has to stay suspended for me to enjoy all the rest of the frolic, fantasy and fractured tales.
The VHS could very well be a tie-in to *backward* explaining about Rumples duplicity about Zelena’s death, but in truth, does anyone really CARE if  Zelena was murdered? But, the mind control fight between Hook and Rumple, even with dorky wth moments, is irresistible.
I must say though, the new Sneak Peek about Belle is very intriguing. If they get brave, Rumple could be facing a crap load of trouble, and I would kind of enjoy that coming from Belle, actually.
We’ll see where it goes in two nights!
***Always in search of a good flock***
Bo-PeepsParticipantGood reading, surayya, thanks for bringing it!
I have a shorter “meta” ( but not nearly as detailed, sensitive and thought out!)
(same warning for pro-Neal lurkers. One woman’s opinion and it isn’t going to change):
Neal was a narcissist slug. Â The whole process of Tallahassee was to contrast two males and what they personally represented to Emma’s life. Â Dullard Neal represented pain, disloyalty, disappointment, disrespect…and decidedly bad form. He portrayed all those qualities to Emma quite proficiently. Hook, no.
Actually comparing Neal to Hook, all things considered, is an insult to Hook. There is, in my mind, no reason to defend Hook in regard to anything Neal -related.
And I haven’t got a clue about the Emma reaction to the obtuse “VHS” tape blackmail angle. It is hopefully a somewhat lame set up for some emotional Emma saving Hook or Hook defeating Rumple adventures. They are in set-up mode for some potentially interesting plot twists, so I will just linger in the land of void while it unfolds!
They have very sensually deepened the relationship with our entwined-hand-hugging lovers.  It just begs for new, tumultuous obstacles for CS to overcome. With the introduction of the Snow Queen AND the Wizard Hat they’ve given us several possible life threatening, hiatus spanning scenarios  to feed our angst hunger 🙂
