Bo-PeepsParticipant
Jennifer has a classic old movie star elegance about her. She must be having a fabulous time.
A great good will ambassador for Once 🙂

Bo-PeepsParticipantOooo…the first of many obstacles I am sure. I hope they have a lot of challenges and avoid stagnant complacency. They thrive on mini-head butts and sass, and that makes for better drama, which creates more reasons to tune in, which also…presents delicious opportunities for “make-up” errr… moments (grin)
Emma will get over it.

Bo-PeepsParticipantWellll, besides the connection of Hook to Baelfire I mentioned, I think Hook and Henry should bond for themselves. They should know each other on their own merits and terms. Forward progress.
I genuinely understand the noble sentiments of “knowing who his father was” and “being the man his father would want him to be” but at this stage I don’t give Neal much credit for being all that noble! Henry is far nobler (grin)
Henry should know lots of positive things about his father, yes, especially that Neal loved him, but Neal’s memory shouldn’t be the driving motivation of those around him now.
Also, I am going to go against the grain and suggest that David and Killian be more hands-on models for Henry. (Actually, now that I think about it, Henry has been a pretty inspiring role model for others! More of a good person to emulate than his father, etc., in many ways)
I liked Baelfire because of his deep, intense passion. He was headstrong and troubled, supremely interesting. Neal fell so short of that personality for me that I… openly… never cared for him much. And unfortunately, fair or not, my lukewarm feelings for Neal may be further tainted by the myth-spinning Saint Neal Brigade …but even so, I’m more concerned that Henry develop bonds with all the actual men in his life now and not the person his father was or might have been.
My hope is that they give approaching-middle-school Henry better personal plot direction(especially if he goes through a growth spurt and suddenly is as tall as everyone else, HA!)
Forward progress.
As far as Emma is concerned, she knew Neal well. It is more important that she have deepening relationships with her father and her Love.
Rumple is going to have his hands full with Belle and Elsa …and Regina when she finds out he killed Zelena. I think they won’t have time to delve into Rumple/Emma/Neal territory.
Neal’s memory will always live on through his namesake …and reruns when they go into syndication! (Snarky wink)

Bo-PeepsParticipantFirst of all YeeHAWWWW the images are back and what an eyeful PoM 🙂 Many thanks!!
Henry? Oh I think he will be very important for/with/to Hook.
Comic relief for one thing (so perfectly suggested PoM 🙂 )
Also, Henry, as some have pointed out, didn’t really know Neal that well. Oh, he now knows he died *a hero* as his Mom said, but still, even with all his memories now intact, there isn’t much there. He has bonded with Hook in other ways and the continuation wil be fun and I think potentially poignant.
Henry will also be important if there turns out to be a Regina vendetta against Hook as Emma’s lover because Emma brought back Marion. Regina can’t battle Emma head on because Emma now has controllable magic. If Hook is a target, Henry wouldn’t be too fond of Regina trying to hurt someone he likes, and someone his mother loves.
I really don’t see there being any problem with the *memory* of his father. Hook knew his father as a boy. That is another bond he and Killian have.
A&E will have some seriously difficult scripts to write to handle all the potential dramas. Guaranteed chaos 🙂
Twice is nicer 🙂

Bo-PeepsParticipantAh surayya, from your mouth to the Internet Goddesses’ ears!
It won’t happen, because it’s always all about them. The marvel of the Internet besides giving us wonderful information, platforms and graphics also includes the degeneration of personal accountability and class. It has gotten demonstrably worse everywhere on the Internet in the last decade.
Twitter breeds it. The battle cry…Freedom of Speech! (followed by a neener neener)… is seen everywhere especially by those defending vile comments. The price of freedom of speech will always include people whose hate speech is rabidly repugnant and on the level of pond scum. When the same people show signs of chronic stupidity, it’s equally as frustrating, but there is no cure for that.
Constantly have to remind myself…accentuate the positive, embrace the joy, don’t give the “f’uglies” any validation, or any attention. Very tough to do sometimes. We soldier on and try not to sink to their level.
Joy…oh yeah…we had some this year didn’t we???
(insert in your mind ALLLLL the many images of CaptainSwan affection, hugs, smiles, dances, adventures and kisses that aren’t able to be posted at the moment, and imagine those to come)
hubba hubba

Bo-PeepsParticipantThey aren’t fans. They are classless, reality impaired, toxic killjoys. Vulgarian blowhards.
No more sympathy. No more respect.

Bo-PeepsParticipantSimply put, the writer of that crass, vulgar and foul *letter* that was posted in its entirety (but significantly/hypocritically NOT edited for *language*) on another thread, could stand some professional help. Moronic ignorance is so rampant now in that faction of the fandom that they are an unbalanced, pathetic and borderline dangerous problem. Worthy of being noted and flagged.
Neal fans who support that kind of ranting and ugliness, are, by association, equally as classless, graceless and foul.

Bo-PeepsParticipantI am nodding my head, obisgirl 🙂
This IS Emma’s story primarily. As much as we adore the other main players, she it the top catalyst for our adventures with all of them.
No matter who her heart connected with ( and there are no assurances that there won’t be some really rocky obstacles for her and Hook), Neal would always be toxic to her. That kind of pain and betrayal doesn’t lead to happy anything for the one suffering. And Neal caused some serious suffering. For Emma, after the wonderlust of first infatuation, it seems that was ALL he did. Even during the fiasco with Tamara, he gave her grief. Just too riddled with pain to work out. And they weren’t together very long at all. Weeks at most? First love is pretty impossible to forget, and the damage of a poisonous first love never really goes away.
When you look at it, no main character in this series has spent a lot of physical time together, in actuality… Henry/Emma; Rumple/Belle; Emma/Snow/Charming; Emma/Neal; Emma/Hook. The longest face to face relationships for those still living characters have been Snow and Regina, Rumple and Regina, Charming and Snow…even Henry with Regina. With the wacked timeline it is hard to pinpoint exact years, but the passage of time has prevented a lot of constant physical attachment. …the story relies on the depth of the *heart* connections more than the physical.
Emma’s relationship with Neal was only physical for a very short time, and her heart connection with him was wracked with pain. *Giving his blessing*to Emma for her to move on to personal happiness (though the concept that he had any right to do that or that Emma felt she needed that in any way makes me grimace), was the best and only thing he that could ever do for her.
There is a ton of growth in Hook’s and Emma’s relationship to address but no matter how long the series lasts, no matter the chaos that could happen before the finale, I still think that with the building and solidifying of Hook and Emma heart wise AND physically from day one that they will be each other’s happy ending.

Bo-PeepsParticipantThanks for the links to Jennifer’s comments 🙂
She is absolutely right about “conflict” in drama shows, something we all expect and steel ourselves for no matter how good things look!
I really wouldn’t want complacency with Hook and Swan. Too much adventure to explore with their vibrant and lively personalities . Love is a struggle as well as a joy, but there is the potential there to also have great wit, snark and sassy repartee as well as steamy romance! Looking forward to some great clashes of will and purpose.
The Regina drama pits magic against magic ~and we know Emma has a temper as well. Depending on how tall Henry sprouts over the hiatus, he could start to get better story lines as well, and while his 2 moms will do anything for him, that triangle could be most interesting.
I imagine Hook might have a bit of a target on his back as well with Regina out to spoil Emma’s newfound soul mate relationship.
I agree with Jennifer’s summation about Neal, mostly. I’m trying to keep the very unappealing nature of his more vocal fans separate from my feelings for him as a character, but even so, I don’t think he was dynamic enough, as written, to be a major player.
With Rumbelle lies, Marian, retaking The Jolly Rodger (hope springs eternal!) and the Ice Queen saga, they really have given us tons of potential for chaos in the coming season! They have set a complicated goal for themselves.
For escapism entertainment, there still isn’t anything I would rather follow 🙂

Bo-PeepsParticipantWho is that in that pic, Hook’s much younger brother? (grin)
