Bo-PeepsParticipantAnswering several different points from various posts, which I am enjoying 🙂
The Regina dilemma is intriguing to say the least, because as it stands in the relationship(s) none of them did anything wrong. No one is the actual villain in this sad, sad situation. Marian is an icon, a hand- glove kind of pairing with Robin; true love of legend. A fiercely independent and strong woman. I daresay her past characterizations in film have paved the way for today’s Snow and Emma. Unless A&E turn her into a dishrag, (I was more than a tad annoyed when they *killed* her off but making her mealy mouthed would be worse) this could be an amazing arc. Sad, but what a multi leveled cliffhanger for Regina when you throw in the anger at Emma! It could most definitely spread to other storylines.(It will keep Lana emoting and that is ALWAYS a good thing) I am a Regina supporter, (through good and evil) and I adored her and Robin’s relationship. I’m glad their fate isn’t in my hands because I would have no clue how to solve it. A&E have created a doozie of a drama. Hope they are up to the task!
I have yet to see Frozen. My kids and I are beyond Disney mode. From what I know of the Snow Queen tale it was based on, I think the possibilities are rather exciting. And what a coup for A&E to be able to incorporate such a popular figure! I hope it brings a multitude of new fans as well. I know the younger children of some of my co-workers seemed very excited about ELLLLSAAAA coming to life (grin). My son on the other hand is a HUGE Star Wars aficionado (as am I, especially the original trio of movies) so a Han Solo style freezing might be angsty fun and might even get him to watch the show if they keep the action level high.

BLUNT RANT: Any cries and wailing about *misogyny* regarding Hook are moronic~ at best. (treating Emma like a wild animal? Really???) When intelligence-void moaning and ugly *play the gender-outrage card* groaning reaches that kind of lunatic rationale level, you have to realize that those speaking like that are grasping at outrageous *sour grape* straws. Craniums are usually firmly implanted up posteriors. Dare I say those spewings are pure *man hate*, and equally as offensive as the non-existent misogyny they claim.
Specifically, and to the point, they hate the man, Hook, because he isn’t their *Sainted by Virtue of Deluded Dreamworld Denial* Neal.
Except for brief moments of coolness and cute grins, Neal came across, to this very male appreciative woman, as a bit of a dullard. Only in the minds of runaway fan fic and faux stardust hero worship was he anything even close to shining armor territory. I didn’t think he needed to die. I was sorry that the writers chose not to continue his story but they did connect it to Rumple’s story needs. It did serve their purpose, their story. And as viewers, we are simply a third party participant, once removed. At the mercy of their writing Gods. But, he is dead. He was already dead as a possible lover to Emma. He didn’t even spend that much real time in her life with her. Appreciate him as the adult continuation of a fascinating boy, appreciate him as a son loved by his supremely flawed father, appreciate him as a first love for a young troubled woman, appreciate him as the father of an amazingly imaginative and courageous boy who has in essence more raw courage and conviction than either of his parents! Appreciate what he brought to the bigger tale. He deserves that appreciation.
But when a small portion of his fandom creates and perpetuates such an unhealthy and bile covered hateful vendetta against the writers (and another male character) because they chose to write Neal and his story as they wanted… I am now content that his character is gone. Those “fans” in their rabid hate for Hook are the ones who have left a bad taste in the mouth of viewers for Neal ~and done him more harm than any of the writers could.
Will they REALLY quit watching the show?…I hope so. OUAT doesn’t need that destructive and self-serving kind of fan sticking around and spreading ugliness. END RANT
Regarding *understanding men* I AM a feminist and admittedly never will understand living with a male mind BUT I think the lusty play, witty, bawdy innuendo and sexual sassiness is a huge part of the viva le difference between males and females. When kept on a genuine harm to none level…they have power in some ways, we have powers in another (wink) Yin yang, fair compromise, give and take, balance…!
I particularly adored Hook punching himself out! Multi-leveled character developmennnnnnt as well as frisky FUN. And I completely agree with your assessment, rumplegoldfan, of Killian’s selfless quest to help Emma find herself. That is love.
As it should be. It’s all good.

Bo-PeepsParticipantThe morning smiles you deliver continue bigtime, surayya!
I love the positive (and loyal) spirit of everyone in this group of romantic saps gathering here! (Wink) …and the creative graphic talent, too, Killian.

Bo-PeepsParticipantI’m with Killian, PoM and others who feel this was a lovely ceremony for Rumple and Belle. (Or any couple!) Very intimate, private and one on one~just like their relationship and love had developed. It perfectly suited them. I loved Belle’s wedding suit as well. Very sophisticated-classic. A touching, stand alone moment that gave special validation to the genuine love they feel (separate from the supremely serious complications the creators have set up for Rumbelle in the next season ). They deserved this moment.
I agree that the splashy referred to the well.
The VoiceOver vows were poignant and beautifully spotlight the kinds of love all our couples have, plus connected them as very human beyond their fairy tale personas. The personal issues they struggle with are at the soul level, very similar. It was fitting that the connection was made in Gold’s and Belle’s voices as well.

Bo-PeepsParticipantEveryone was too busy rewatching the rewatching of our Captain’s well earned lip locks 🙂
In fact I am going to go watch it again tonight! My eyes need candy.

Bo-PeepsParticipantSmiling at rumplegoldfan 🙂 Your giddiness and joy is contagious!
Feels tremendous doesn’t it? The romp that was the finale had everything fun in it. Rapier wit, sass, sexy-flirts, adventure, drama, way cool costuming, adultish innuendo and child-like fantasy, cool musical score, old fashioned derring-do and a hellaciously satisfying meeting of the lips and hearts for our beloved couple!!!
It was earned, it was solid, it was meant to be. “Always” And it is just a beginning of the fun and frollic for them. Now they can have that romantic/snarky/deliciously heady adventure that Hook alluded to in Neverland. Onward and forward we go. Not smooth sailing I will bet, it suits them to have rough seas at times… there will be some rowdy waves hitting them…but what a pairing they make in the process 🙂
The haters??? Let them wallow in whatever they want to call that stagnant pool of denial and doom they have created. They just DO NOT MATTER.
I am reminded of an old quote: ‘There are none so blind as those who will not see. The most deluded people are those who choose to ignore what they already know’

Bo-PeepsParticipantI’m in the *This is not a bad thing for the story* camp.
Regina will continue to be a huge focal point of the story (yayyy!) and face a difficult new challenge in her character growth. She won’t revert totally, but she is going to have to deal with serious demons. (which Lana excels at in her characterization) The complexities multiply. I don’t think she is going to go quietly into the night regarding Marion. (Marion, an ICON in the legend of Robin Hood, deserves her own happiness with her husband and son as well. If they don’t water down her character to mealy-mouthed nothingness, this could be…awesome) The balance of Regina’s joy and anger, in front of Robin and Roland and her past with Marion is going to be …very entertaining. She’s an intense mess of emotions!
With Emma’s newfound courage, love and self-awareness, her magic will be even stronger, and so will her protective “family/people she loves” streak. A bold and audacious (grin) power. Regina, who has been very impressed with Emma’s magical skills, respects that power. She can’t really control her or easily defeat Emma. The two, who share much besides Henry, will be delicious foils for each other. Neither one of them is really wrong in their emotional attachment to the whole Marion dilemma.
When Elsa is tossed in there (and I haven’t seen Frozen, but love the original Snow Queen tale), the strength and awe of three female power houses will make for some genuinely intriguing possibilities.
I hope A&E are up to the challenge they have created for themselves 🙂

Bo-PeepsParticipantAhhhh, and a VERY delightful morning visual fest !!!
I’ve come to depend on you, surayya, to leave such a delicious morning wake up call!!
Thank-you 🙂
A&E were so very thoughtful to provide us with months worth of hiatus reminders of why OUAT is ultimately so good for our hopeful and positive hearts.
(they do wonders for kick starting the libido too!;) )
it’s alllll good

Bo-PeepsParticipantI mentioned on another thread but will say it again here.
I felt the name Neal was very *eh* and only emotional for the actors because they had such a fondness for the actor who portrayed Neal. As a character, Neal didn’t have that much specifically to do with Charming or Snow or Storybrooke directly~ but it was a timely, sentimental choice. It just would have been nice for the baby to have his own, fresh identity. Maybe he will develop his own nickname in the future.
Having nothing to do with the actual character ~”Prince Neal” just doesn’t have a very regal ring to it!
Side comment, yeah, I believe Henry just got out of the camera shot, you didn’t see his face or emotional reaction at all. Just logistically gave Emma an easier move to go to find her hero, Hook.
