Bo-PeepsParticipant
It really is great that we, as Captain Swan supporters, see such positive and continually encouraging playing out of a delicious love story for two of our favorite characters. Yeah it could turn on a dime and cause us major angst attacks, but so far, it is being validated weekly, feeling wonderful and it is a great place to dwell. May it delightfully continue to do so!
Concerning A&E’s plot planning…
the series is their story to tell and we are quite simply, their audience. The speculation can be massive fun and spark a thousand outlets for creative thinking and specifically fanfic, which thankfully provides a wonderful platform for imagination, and encourages others who never would have had the courage before to actually write, to gleefully put fingers to keyboard! All a good thing.
It is still not the fandom’s story to tell. Ever. Shooting schedules and deadlines dictate that concepts be established far in advance of viewers’ desires or reactions. Ego is also a huge component. Creators are notorious for serving their own egos! As are creator-writers. (And that includes fan fic writers).
Networks certainly have their powerful say, but their say is brutally $ driven, not creativity driven. They are only interested in fans if it ultimately makes them $.
When the unveiling of the presented story actually matches that of the fanfic world it is a truly beautiful thing. And mostly coincidence!
Plot driven fan pandering is, overwhelmingly, a myth and the battle cry of often immature viewers who refuse to accept that they didn’t get their particular fantasy serviced.
(The real down side of that is the creation of a portion of a (any/every) fandom that lives in constant and often mean spirited denial and blame mode. Cannot be avoided or changed, just endured)
Being a vibrant (especially because of social media) part of a fandom is a double edged sword but still…the reality of OUAT is~even in a world about fantasy~it is always A&E’s story to tell.

Bo-PeepsParticipantLunchtime drop off:
Emma’s comfortable familiarity and playfulness regarding her brooding Captain was perhaps another way of telling him she was ready and for him to “hang up the Hook, Killian”
grin

Bo-PeepsParticipantMish mash episode.
Captain Swan specifics…I don’t mind that Hook hasn’t had a chance to discuss his dilemma yet. Tons (too much actually) going on with everyone else. He needs to digest everything and he has a full load on his emotional plate (grin) but…he was crossing his legs under the table??? Hahahaha. Just, no, no, sorry, heh.
Emma is finally enjoying herself and seeing her smile is a good thing! They will get there 🙂
The rest of the episode, was just kind of weird, though I do love Regina and Snow getting some things out between them, and Regina, I am sure, egged on by Tink’s foretelling of Robin being her soul mate AND her aching need for love, takes a yummy leap 🙂 Good for her!! But what difference has it made for her not to have a heart?? She seemed to be more emotional without it. Are they setting up Roland to” replace” Henry in her heart? Where was Henry, by the way? For them all being so concerned about that green biatch, they leave him alone often.
The whole Cora’s ghost was just too contrived. It brought out great gutsy Regina moments, but really it was kind of lame. The flashbacks were …not the most brilliant flashback moments. Too many gaping holes even for our hole loving duo A&E.
Ah well, it had it’s moments. Emma is smiling, and worried about Hook. Zelena is a totally whacked psycho and frankly, she didn’t end up so bad with her magic able to get her most of the things she is so obsessed over…so I don’t get her wanting to change it all anyway. She is a nasty little scum… but her motives aren’t so solid. First it was sibling rivalry and wanting Regina not to be born, and now it is *let’s wipe out everyone*. Cora was/is just plain ugly to the core. Next week, hopefully will be a bit more…I dunno…intriguing.
Too much thinking needed for some of this jumbled…mess LOL.

Bo-PeepsParticipantI’m quite OK with there being less attention on Hook and Emma for now. There are a lot of stories to be told and answers to be given. There are almost too many plotlines going on anyway (grin) for any normal brain to digest. Letting the emotions simmer with a few little sparks of tease and taunts will be good. We know it won’t last long at any rate. They have ten episodes of stuff to squeeze into four!
We have the introduction of Glinda soon to add to the chaos and Hook still has some *’splainin’* to do about how he got the potion, kept all his EF memories and how/to whom he traded off The Jolly Roger to get to Emma. No one in Storybrooke wants to know???? The suspension of curiosity among these characters is often head-shakingly *duh*. A while back it was mentioned by Adam that Hook may have been tricked…and I am not sure that referred to the Ariel/Zelena rouse, though that certainly qualified as a trick. I don’t want to see Hook turn into an angst driven brooder, but I don’t want him to be the second coming of Charming either. They have moved two giant steps forward with his character struggles and growth, I hope they don’t go three steps back! I am not sure at this point if- a playful and willing to open her heart to that *fun* he mentioned- Emma would let him backslide for too long! All those burning answers could be summed up in three dialogue sentences anyway.

Bo-PeepsParticipantIf Rumple were so overwhelmingly smart, why didn’t he just hand the dagger to Belle while he had Neal in his arms? She was RIGHT THERE. (laughing because of course that would have eliminated the entire need for Zelena and we all so love to hate her guts! Whoever will we hate as much in season 4? Ah, maybe Rumple will be back to his old hellacious self after Zelena’s Quantum Leap move fails and he is left semi-insane again.)
I’m glad Regina” puts her Hoodie on” early, though without her heart, just how attached can she get? No matter, I love a good smooch….unless of course it is the Rumple/Zelena variety. That just ups the creep factor, no matter why he tries it. Not surprised they went there really, but still, cringe, they went there.
Hope a lot of people are done with their holiday/family gatherings in time to tune in, live!
And I wish Adam and Eddie would STOP using the term *I hope so or else…* blah blah blah~as if anyone else can make that decision. They have to OWN it, whatever it is. There is no omnipotent, great and powerful third party pulling the script strings behind that curtain.
And what will they do with a middle school=aged Henry? YIKES.

Bo-PeepsParticipantYo Ho!
In the tradition of the oh, so beloved, Errol Flynn…yessssss! (sidebar: Flynn was the best Robin Hood ever, though Russell Crowe was a delightful temptation.)
Colin is an extraordinary talent. An actor’s dream role, to put your own stamp on an iconic role and have it be so well loved and well received. OUAT is lucky to have him and so are we!
***Always in search of a good flock***
Bo-PeepsParticipantNo no! Do not touch “the voice”. (Grin)
Hypable has it right. Colin’s performance further proved his quite amazing talents. Those not embroiled in an energy and time wasting empty-souled vendetta against Hook (which means the vast majority of the viewing audience) because he isn’t the Ken Doll of all things Disneyesque and because another male character bit the dust, had a marvelous chance to see the scope of his emotional acting skills. On a risk taking show that has to balance a very odd combination of drama/fantasy/comedy to appeal to all ages in a family viewing hour, he consistently shines.
and speaking of shining…
date? Just give Killian and Emma a ship on a calm sea under some bright and peaceful shining stars with no one close by to pester / interrupt them and I think it would be alllll they need.
😉
have a great and peaceful weekend all!
***Always in search of a good flock***
Bo-PeepsParticipantHenry is in good shape parent-wise if he could just find some kids to hang out with!!
Maybe season four will bring him some peers to pal around with. And shouldn’t he have potential magic in him? ( imagining what a middle schooler would do with magic should give all the adults a whole new concept of wicked 😉 )

On another forum I frequent someone wondered if Smee is Zelena’s spy/agent.
I like this idea and think it might be a possibility. Hook even said Smee was and is still probably a rat! But he still exhibits daily loyalty to his Captain.
Zelena, on the one hand, seems to know every freaking thing, yet she and her monkey boys are still rather scarce while people walk around having all kinds of conversations. Sometimes the *security* and fear seems be so selective. I mean, there are the Charmings, and Emma having a conversation about who is going to watch Henry ~after he gets back from the store…with who? Hook was already at the docks! And would Mayor Mills be taking a child to the store during her day job? heh
Blib blib blib. I love this show!!!
I’m really enjoying your comments, MysteryKat and as always~ KJ’s level headedness, ~obisgirl’s lovely links and never ending positive spirit ~surayya’s super upbeat visuals…everyone really. Just a great little corner of fandom here. Thanks to all of you.
About chat, I don’t venture there, or chat anywhere anymore because I tend to be non-eggshell tip-toeing and would most likely be banned within five sentences (grin). The mods from what I have seen of the chat go flitting by the page practice a very even handed approach even though they must want to pull their hair out daily 🙂
Other threads? Other than the specifically *ship* oriented ones, they are all fair game. “Strength and honor”, oh, CS shippers…”what we do in life echoes in…”oh wait, that was another message board in another life. (wink)

Bo-PeepsParticipantIgnore the dice game crapola! 🙂
Those who are righteously dwelling on that are incapable of seeing beyond their noses to the symbolism of the entire episode.
This episode was overflowing in symbolic battles with personal demons.
