Bo-PeepsParticipant
After seeing the stills and reading the preview I can say with absolute certainty:
A dream or not a dream of shining armor?… a wench/shill selling potions or just appreciating a hunky bad boy when she sees one? …a meeting of badass buccaneer bodaciousness or a quick overpowering of a rum ruzzelled Sparrow look alike? I have no freakin idea where all this is going and who is going to do what to whom, when, how and why 😀
All that matters to me in my own little shallow eye candy swashbuckler lovin’ romantic fool heart is that my favorite pirate, no, my favorite character evahhhh is going to have some serious air time doing some of the things that endeared him to me from the moment he swashed onto the screen with those …eyes.
Fun drama-laced stuff for our beleaguered rapscallion of luscious leather, unbuttoned puffy pirate shirts and sassy snark.
I want to see a bit of the dashing swagger and steam return…if only for one of those infuriatingly fast moving nanoseconds of centric focus. I will be awash in besotted grinnery with all the resplendent Hookery.
And I don’t feel at all bad about feeling so good.

Bo-PeepsParticipantjenven… ( not that we can tell with his close relationship with the floor … )
HA! One of his most endearing traits 🙂

Bo-PeepsParticipantPolythenePam …love the nick (grin)!
Thank you for the support! Hook has certainly and literally gone the distance to show Swan he can be trusted. He’s one of the more deep/passionate/ emotionally raw characters on Once and that is his massive appeal, good behavior and not so good behavior, the man is loaded with passion.
That also makes him sometimes impulsive and impatient (grin). But he has not been impulsive nor impatient about his love for Emma, even though it probably shocked his soul at how deep it went during Neverland.
I actually am hoping his Shining armor stint may be a realization dream sequence of Emma’s that finally, subconciously helps her face the truth she wants to avoid and fights with fierce denial and sometimes fear-driven “meanness”…that Killian IS the man who will he her loyal life’s battle partner, in adventure and love. Heady reality for a woman with such formidable walls
Oh, and Emma clocked him quite effectively by the lake! I think, as has been suggested, he was coming out of his temporary “clocking” and witnessed Cora’s failure to capture her heart. Emma’s fierceness is a huge part of what he loves about her, when she isn’t fighting her interal struggles. They have a great match of passion.

Bo-PeepsParticipantHey CallMeLola, thanks for providing the link! While I can appreciate that blogger’s staunch loyalty in defending Emma, when she goes into serious “Assumption Land” about how others must see exactly what she sees in her *shipping* world, she loses credibility. Tumblr personas can…be *Zelena-like* scenery chewing…at times. We all can, I guess. Emma still pisses me off! :D.
This second sneak peak is pure Hook (and Emma to a degree) gold. Thanks for posting it obisgirl 🙂 We have much to look forward to!
Hook has remembered everything, and perhaps is the only one to do so…while Emma and the others lost a year. His journey has been, perhaps, much harder to bear because of it. He shows that in his tortured eyes. And I think no matter what he lived through in his grief, that he thought about Emma every waking moment.
My guess is he went through some hellacious and humiliating times in his grief before truly realizing there was a way to get back to her. He lost The Jolly Roger, and I am sure a lot of his pride as well. He is not one to shy away from life. It builds character and this man has it is aces. I am hoping Emma is given the chance to see that and knocks off her *meanness*, even though I suspect that it comes in part from trusting him so much that she takes his loyalty for granted AND being somewhat annoyed that he didn’t find her sooner and save her the misery of the doofus Walsh months. Right now, even knowing/understanding quite well all that she has been through, her behavior towards him is often condescending and teetering on ugly. I am on this man’s side more than I am Emma’s. He has been my favorite character since his cocky introduction in that rowdy bar. When he screws up, he screws up. So does Emma. No one hesitates to call him on every freaking thing…she should be called on it as well.
I have no doubt their path leads to being a solid and amazingly passionate couple IF A&E don’t screw it up (grin). They still could play us, but it would just prove them to be dishonest writers.
I also agree, Jenna… the cries about how horrible Hook was to Bae are sometimes just piss and vinegar grievances in the long line of Hook-is-rotten-to-the-core-because-he-isn’t-Neal complaints. Bae rejected him. Yeah, he was only a boy, but it still wounded him. And no, he doesn’t have to make specific amends to prove himself before he is worthy of love or happy endings. No one does. He seems to be held to outrageously stiff standards by some factions of the fandom. Again, I suspect because he is so convenient to blame/hate. Flawed heroes are abused like that all the time.

Bo-PeepsParticipantEmma pisses me off.
Just thought I would interject that. Heh. They are running a very dangerous risk of her becoming the resident hard ass. If she doesn’t show some signs of some genuine tenderness and heart, soon, I will question why Hook even gives a damn.
Henry and Hook were quite touching and though I know that these episodes must advance at the speed of light, it was a lovely, calm touch to have Hook bonding with *the lad*, looking up to the stars, giving the only true nod to Neal. (though I have to say, the somber cemetery scene was very effective about finality…I have always thought the tradition of loved ones shoveling dirt into the grave exceptionally brutal. Words would have ruined the poignancy.) It was all about connecting to the shared emotions *man to man* and that was very cool.~ Also their boat trip was a great little nod to the fact that we all guessed right and Hook lost the Jolly Roger in his search for Emma.
Henry isn’t a focal point this season with that, self-absorbed, winey *itch of a witch chewing the scenery all over the place. (lunatic psychos are good for upping the viewership but they can wear thin, fast, if they display no redeemable qualities, and so far, I don’t care about Zelena with any sympathetic vibes at all.) She is, to me, way over the top. Fatal Attraction on crack. Breathe, oh envious freak, breathe. Her main purpose seems to be to unite everyone else, and we did that in Neverland. (and the hats? Ditch em, they are corny)
The big showdown was a big letdown. Too many spoiler scenes in the Sneak Peeks, previews. But dependable, clever Regina saved the scene with her heart trick. And I like her and Robin, very much!
Walsh is a wuss in human form. Not surprising that he is the Wizard, but if that is the kind of doofus Emma would fall for, she doesn’t deserve the passion of Hook.
Did I mention Emma is pissing me off? Oh, yeah I did! LOL
And we have Blackbeard and swashbuckling next week YAYYYYY. And it looks like Hook will have another intimate moment with the floor 🙂 ANNNDDD it looks like his tricky relationship with Ariel will give some meat to those *I hate mermaid*bones…fins…whatever. Good stuff coming.
I love Hook. I just do.

Bo-PeepsParticipantYup. Yup. Yup!
Bigger picture, smaller picture, looking at the true love/relationship part of the story those who view the relationship as it has played out, as WRITTEN, see the emotional connection between Hook and Emma, now, in the present and seemingly for the future.
Neal represented the past and was a major ache to Emma’s first love psyche. The emotional memories of first love stay with you a long time. They buffed it up for dramatic effect at times and of course, to further the Henry/Rumple plotlines, (but the whole really mediocre Tamara issue dulled it to boredom). Even excluding that blank, passionless Neal/Emma/Tamara scenario…Emma hasn’t shown, ever, a real reluctance to falling for other guys or a real pining for Neal. Her attachment has been to the pain.
Their biggest connection beyond her jail stint while Neal went free, has been Henry. She, alone, wasn’t enough of a draw for Neal to make him face the magic world he so avoided. It was Henry who brought him into things. The progeny, not the lady fair. (In truth, if they had given adult Bae half the attention and good plot that they gave young Bae, it could have been a far different, much deeper story. I wish they had. But they didn’t. )
Hook and Emma’s connection has been only about Hook and Emma. One on one. Need to need. Eye emoting to eye emoting (grin)
CS isn’t any smarter than any other *hoped for* relationship because that all comes from the heart and when the heart is concerned, rationality often vanishes! But the written words of A&E are creating a path towards the two of them, together. Long path, deep relationship. And it is their tremulous UST ace in the hole~ a huge draw to any good story.
That doesn’t mean Adam and Eddy will stop playing games (grin). They could turn on a dime and screw everything backwards. They have Robin and Regina to tempt us with as well, now, too.
I only hope that if they stay true to all the Emma and Hook (excuse me, Killian…wink wink) foreshadowing and not so subtle path that they keep the duo a very lively one. Emma and Hook can butt heads all over the place and still maintain an edgy, vibrant, witty, sassy, serious and quite entertaining love (true or otherwise) between them.
as written…”and then the fun begins”
***Always in search of a good flock***
Bo-PeepsParticipantIndeed, Killian! And the first one should have Gilbert Grape written allll over it!
(Off topic but when I first saw that totally amazing ^ movie I wondered how they got a special needs child to behave in front of the camera and follow a script!!!) I haven’t enjoyed his more violent offerings but the man deserves his awards.
***Always in search of a good flock***
Bo-PeepsParticipantTo the point and clear. 🙂
I concur (grin) rogvortex! (excuse the wording, but I just watched Leo DeCaprio in “Catch Me If You Can”, he *concurred*, and besides, it is much more Hookish to concur ;))
***Always in search of a good flock***
Bo-PeepsParticipantLovely eye candy banquet, Surayya! Many thanks. Good lunch break yummies (grin)
Regarding some other posters comments and feelings about Hook. Essentially, it is their choice and shows their own character when they continually try to denigrate. It has nothing to do with anyone else’s good feelings, just their own negativity. When killjoys relentlessly harp on the same things over and over, it often means they are threatened or insecure of their own joy .
When it has been established that a poster has certain feelings about a character (and this is ANY character) and others habitually and maliciously bait/pester that poster without just respectfully co-existing, that behavior is self-indulgent, immature clap trap, and if not ignored, should be pitied.
Basically, and in particular to OUAT, if someone doesn’t like Hook….so what?
Embrace your own joy 🙂 It is very powerful.

Bo-PeepsParticipantExtraordinary work! You do so many positive things for the fandom 🙂
Really better than a lot of the official ones!
