Bring on the monster snowmen…we generate the HEAT to beat them!
Appreciative thumbs up to @RumplesGirl.
surayya…consider my aura deliciously FLUFFED!!! Hump Day visuals are always lapped up with unashamed glee 🙂 We are not too far from a single digit countdown to new adventures, new angst, new lust, new leather (!) and  new “gif”fery to suck up.
and a nod to PoM across the mighty Pond, just because!

Bo-PeepsParticipantThere are bullies and unpleasant personalities in all the ships. No ship is excluded. And some hideous things have been said and done in the Oncer community by every single extreme element of every ship. Bullying comes from an innate sense of blistering insecurity, not power. It would be a better place if ALL the harassment/bullying went away, including any from SwanQueen or Captain Swan extremes. But it won’t. Us and them mentality does nothing to further anyone’s cause. Score-keeping is an effort in futility.
I can’t speak for PoM and don’t need to. I see that out-of- context quote as a frustration over very crappy, human behavior. And there is plenty of it everywhere in this fandom.
There is also a very open policy here to start any thread you want. About any topic. However, no one can be forced to participate anywhere or join in on a thread that they are not interested in discussing. You can call anyone out over anything that bothers you. No one is stopping your discussions or opinions or complaints. But no one has to join in just because you have them. They will gather and talk about what interests them.
That is the nature of every message board anywhere on the Internet.
For my part, I will continue to talk about the joy and fun I find in the Captain Swan camaraderie in this thread. I am not interested in SwanQueen, here, and won’t react to attempts of being shamed, patronized or scolded for not being an active participant in something that I don’t see~ as it is written~ nor is of personal interest to me, in my enjoyment of a TV show. No matter who thinks I should, for whatever reason. To each their own joy.

September 10, 2014 at 12:17 am in reply to: Jamie and Claire~Outlander Fans…watch the Premiere online. #281883Bo-PeepsParticipantGreat find for that interview, thanks! I especially like the little additions and tweaks from the written words. Best of all worlds-I know where it is going and how it will end, but the paths just to the side of the main road are irresistable to enjoy.
And surayya, the “here they go” scene was amusing, but still aggravating. I recall while reading the book how much I was thrilled by the heart palpitating gallantry of the romance but also infuriated by the ignorant proprietary …baloney…that women lived with regarding the men. It was Claire’s immense personal strength that kept me, at times, from throwing the book against the wall as if it were any number of the male characters’ heads…fancy “foine” kilt fillings be-damned!
Fantasy fiction or not, the realities of a woman’s place in that world were bleak at best.
The real fun is just beginning.

Bo-PeepsParticipantSnow HAS been an annoying persona. Pregnancy hormones side, she’s been written in a more thoughtless way. It seems when she has Mary-Margaret brain, she loses a lot of her intelligent warrior brain cells. David did, too, at first in Storybrooke. It makes for more unappealing modern day connections for a lot of the characters. Takes away their fantasy too much.
While Hook should stay firm in his resolve…I think if is high time Emma steps up and realizes that she could lose something very special if she doesn’t keep clinging to those negative and protective walls. She’s made great progress. If she slides back to the little lost girl, she may screw up something grand. I hope if/when she does start with that predictable stoic, borderline cruelty routine, she should be given a look into what she would be missing and kick herself in the butt. Or maybe have it kicked for her somehow.

Bo-PeepsParticipantThere have been one-liner indications (Snow’s “banditry” line in explaining to non-remembering Henry how she knew Emma from jail) that Emma’s past is known. It would be a brain-burp moment if the Charmings didn’t know the specifics of how their daughter wound up in jail, but then, Emma isn’t a glowing symbol of informative openess.
I mostly resist Emma/Neal commentary because he was a total romantic partnership dullard to me and is only a symbol of pain for her, so I can understand any reluctance Emma would have in mentioning his immature betrayal and cowardly part in her past. She has hidden her personal torment behind lies  to Henry so why not her parents?
IF they know, however, and went ahead naming their child after a man with direct ties to considerable pain and grief to their daughter, it reeks of insensitive stupidity.
I hope, for that reason, they don’t know the ugly details. I don’t want Snow and Charming to be that dense.
In addition, I hope Hook doesn’t know the actual specifics either. It was certainly very BAD form of Neal and would most likely influence his “Baelfire” memories.
…but, this is a fantasy show and is steeped in suspension of disbelief. (Smile) thinking too hard about any of the stories, whimsy laced or totally WTF moments removes part of the magical fantasy aspect that I count on for my escapism entertainment.

Bo-PeepsParticipantAh, obisgirl..as the classic song says “Love is lovelier, the second time around” 🙂
First love isn’t necessarily smart in any way, but it sure has an eternal magic quality to the good parts of that memory. It does, however, seem to set into play one’s total life’s expectations of love. Marvelously magnificent or agonizingly painful.
I *can’t* with Neal stuff. He was shallow and rather mediocre during that whole Tamara plotline. He patronized Emma, even mocking her. He never once seemed sincere about or even seriously interested in either women and about as deep as a thimble. His best and brightest dramatic and emotional moments have always been with Rumple.

Bo-PeepsParticipantThanks for the heads up spoiler, surayya 🙂
Anything delving into the recesses of Hook’s history will be a treat. Hook has traded history with so many fabulous characters in all his centuries. And while I think Emma would be itching with curiosity about WHO has the Jolly Roger…it is a story that screams to be told eventually. I can’t imagine everyone remaining land-locked in Storybrooke. As far as *down the road*, sometimes with A & E down the road means in a week! We have had so many super BTS spoilers and teasers already for our leather dude, it is pretty much assured we will be enjoying the sultry angst and sassy passion of our Captain. He certainly will be walking with a lighter step without the 50lb coat and getting back his hand (whether cursed/enchanted/knuckle-bloodied or not) is sure to give us a delightful blend of educated and Honorable Lieutenant Jones and dashing Rapscallion Scoundrel Swashbuckler.
And there will also be this…
heh heh.

Bo-PeepsParticipantYo, Jenna :), I am playing cards at the same table you are!
I’ve been delighted with the info we have already received 🙂 Now the anticipation can build.
I don’t feel at all neglected and would be happy not getting anything else  Hook specific until premiere week. The fandom goes overboard with spoilers anyway ( and I am addicted to them far too readily).
The entire social media is but a small fraction of the  total fandom and I am pretty much in the camp of letting the creators create and leaving them alone to do their job the way they want.
For me, it is all good as it is. Â A certain absence always makes my heart grow fonder.
🙂

Bo-PeepsParticipantYuppers, PoM, that was really cool to see! Can’t wait to see what is in store for my favorite Dark One with the “pure haaaaaht” 🙂
***Always in search of a good flock***
Bo-PeepsParticipantPoint being that it truly doesn’t matter what ANYONE thinks about any character, if you enjoy a character and find others who feel the same, and can share that joy with them, then others’ opinions don’t mean squat in the scheme of things. (Grin)
That is true for any character, dead or alive, gone or very present.
Obviously, personal preferences and opinions aside, the main  cause of negative message board crap is that some posters can’t avoid trying to aggressively ruin other peoples’ enjoyment by creating nothing but ignorant BS about a character they  don’t like. Truth or common sense doesn’t matter, only trying to blame and accuse and denigrate other fans or the characters they enjoy  becomes the main reason for even existing in a fandom.
In the cases where people can’t  see beyond that particularly ugly, moronic mentality, rational discussion is rather pointless. You can’t joke around or even empathize  with them without the petty  blabbering entering the discussion.
I adore Hook. I embrace the gorgeous and not so gorgeous about his character. He entertains the heck out of Sunday nights (and DVR repeats) for me.
When I can find others who embrace him in the same spirit, and can, with intelligence and wit and friendly sensibilities, debate about the character’s intricacies, quirks, flaws…it’s massive fun. Visual and verbal, the Hook followers make me smile.
Otherwise, ya know, I don’t give a p*ss.
