I’m just frustrated because helloooooo it’s Killian who finds Emma, Killian who restores her memories (NOT the dreamcatcher, confirmed by @awoovo’s source), Killian who brings her home, her HOME, STORYBROOKE, WHICH HAS BEEN STATED IN THE LAST FEW DAYS TO BE EMMA’S HOME, and her journey to accepting that. It’s Killian who’s running around SB with her, supporting her etc. It’s Killian she entrusts Henry to. It’s Killian she’s hugging, it’s Killian whom she considers her friend, it’s Killian she’s smiling at.
There is just
NO FREAKING DOUBT PRESENT LIKE AT ALL, logically this is where the show is going
Neal is nowhere to be seen beyond 3×15, he’s not running around with Emma solving mysteries, he’s not bonding with his own son, he’s not building up any romantic tension with Emma whatsoever, he hasn’t told her he loves her, he passively sits back and doesn’t come after her when Charming tells him not to
AND IF PEOPLE THINK HE’S JUST GOING TO WALTZ IN IN 3X22 OR WHATEVER AND EMMA’S GOING TO TAKE HIM BACK
They are living in a dream/fantasy world. Delusional. Yes, i used that word. DELUSIONAL. At this stage of the game, that’s what they are.
And this is ignoring the near FACT that he’s going to die, because let’s be real he is.

And it’s VERY consistently Neal too btw, the spoiler.
- Neal wants to stay with/go after Emma
- Someone convinces him it’s a bad idea
- He listens and doesn’t go because it’s what’s “best for her”

Pretty much as i expected. Neal is VERY passive here, and i always said he’d make an attempt to go, but then pipe down pretty quickly.
And guess what. It’s going to happen.

How many times have we heard Neal talking talking talking AND FRACKING NOT FOLLOWING THROUGH ON FRACKING ANYTHING

“I have to find her, i have to get to her” – ARRIVES IN NEVERLAND, TEAMS UP WITH HIS DAD
“I’ll never stop fighting for you” – PROCEEDS TO TELL HER THAT IF HENRY IS THE ONLY THING THAT CAME FROM THEM THEN THAT’S OK
“I’ll be in that booth, if you don’t show up, i’ll quit bugging you” – “ATTEMPTS” TO GO AFTER EMMA IN THE EF WHEN HE HAS THE CHANCE DESPITE TELLING HER HE’D LEAVE HER ALONE IF SHE DIDN’T SHOW UP
Neal is all talk and no FRACKING follow through, I literally don’t give a flying*fancy* if he’s all gung ho about getting back to Emma at first because the thing is
HE’S EASILY TALKED OUT OF IT, HE DOESN’T GO, HE DOESN’T FIND HER, AND FINDING YOUR TL IS, HELLO, ONE OF THE MASSIVE THEMES OF TRUE LOVE ON THIS SHOW
AND THEN THERE’S WHAT HE SAID TO HER IN 2X14
“I was trying to help you [..] by getting you home.”
Neal doesn’t consider Emma his home, he doesn’t consider HIMSELF as Emma’s home, and GUESS WHAT, CHARMING AND SNOW CONSIDER EACH OTHER TO BE THEIR HOME
And plus he’s going to die so yeah

Underrated Captain Swan Moment #3
I love that Killian’s given physical credit here for being an island native. The man’s undeniably strong, but in past episodes he wasn’t exactly able to shine because of the hook. Other than Pan and the shadow, Felix is probably the strongest lost boy. He’s in charge when Pan’s not around. Placing Killian behind him to hold him off and protect the group was to give him the credit he deserves. And if we’re being crazy obvious here, the moment he gets most defensive is when Felix is speaking to Emma. These particular choices by directors + writers was without a doubt to emphasize their partnership even further while allowing Hook to finally shine. During the speech, anyone could’ve held Felix back, but the deliberate decision to have it be Hook wasn’t simply because they knew one another prior, it was to display how protective he is over these people now, and just how significant he is as part of the group. It’s heartbreakingly evident how distraught not being able to do certain things has made him, but it’s immaculately telling how much Emma always turns to him for things. She’s never let any of that bother her, he’s constantly the first person she when something has to be done, and that gorgeously and subtly showcases her respecting admiration while beautifully valorizing how happy making her smile makes him.
Emma’s talking about going home, having a family, being loved, and that’s exactly what’s happened to them recently – they’ve both finally found somewhere they’re welcomed, ceaselessly adored, and cherished.
Later when Pixie Woods are mentioned, Killian is the first person Emma turns to when she needs assistance. Neal’s been on the island as well but that doesn’t change the fact that for days she’s relied on Hook and his expertise. It doesn’t change the fact that he’s been her go-to, her backbone, her compass. He’s not just her go-to for Neverland, I firmly believe she hasn’t realized it yet because who really has time too think there, he’s her hope. If this wasn’t intended to be significant, Tinker could’ve been in this shot. Emma could’ve asked Neal or Tink. Regina could’ve asked someone, too but they purposely had Emma ask Killian to demonstrate just how gravitationally strong their bond has become. They’re kindred. There’s an unspoken security that’s been established between them and it’s just remarkably beautiful to watch it unravel in these moments.
