ONCE - Once Upon a Time podcast
Reviews, theories, and talk about ABC's Once Upon a Time TV show
From vickyvicarious:
It seriously just kills me that the majority of the Captain Swan development happened in Neverland. Because Henry was kidnapped, Neal had just ‘died’, no one had trusted Emma about Tamara, Pan was making her feel like the Lost Girl she’d been trying to deny being, basically for Emma everything was shit.
And yet, in the midst of all that, CS still developed. Hook was able to make her smile, to make her feel good, despite everything else. In a way he was her emotional port in the storm, he reassured her and reaffirmed her and supported her, and they were able to make each other happier, better people even with everything else going wrong. Emma didn’t have time to fall in love, but we could see it happening anyway, until we finally got that beautiful moment in the finale where she opens up and admits that she likes him loving her, she wants him to think of her every day even when they’ll be separated seemingly forever.
And now he’s going to have to make her remember, and then they’ll have to run off and save everyone from the new curse or whatever’s going on, and once again they aren’t going to ever have it easy. They aren’t ever going to have the time to fall in love. But that’s okay, because we know they will anyway (Hook already has); it’s the moments that matter, and that’s what happened all throughout Neverland – Emma and Hook made moments happen. They stepped aside to be alone for a bit, exchanged a few quiet words, a kiss, a drink, just sat together by the fire, shared glances – they made their moments happen, and in those moments they were able to feel happy, even during of one of the worst times in Emma’s life. And if they could do that THEN, I have complete faith that they will continue to do so in the future, all the more once they are officially together. And it just makes me so happy for them both.
