Actually, I disagree here. He is stepping out of the way so Emma can make her decision without his interference, in other words, with a clear head. Let’s face it: when Emma makes her decision about who she wants to be with (we all want it to happen in a way there’s no controversy whatsoever). He knows and we know Emma’s going to choose him. Right now, it’s just watching the journey they take together until they get to that point.
I COMPLETELY agree obisgirl. He’s kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place – he made the best decision he could. Too bad it made them both miserable lol.
And when they see each other after being lost for 24 hours without each other neither one has ever been in that kind of situation before so they BOTH act out of character with one another. Emma is jealous when she knows darn wwell she has NO reason to be – the man has professed his undying loyalty to her and she knows his secret. And lies to her, and lies badly – knowing very well that he CAN’T lie to Emma.

See what I’m noticing? A lot of endgame and TL couples mentioning being together and long-term. Why is this important? Because THIS is the episode we hear Hook say that he’s “in it for the long haul.”

@MysteryKat25 – loved reading your meta! I’m SUPER excited about the script tease, personally I think it’s a flashback but we’ll see!!!!!Loved all the points you made on Neal and Killian as well. The difference is very clear, and as you pointed out with the gifs, the difference is very clear IN CANON. It’s not just an interpretation.
So excited for tonight, thinking we’re going to get the third “As you wish” because it’s a finale and the rule of threes and all that. And going by The Princess Bride, the third time Westley says “As you wish” she realised she loved him back!

ok I hate to burst this particular bubble but I was just looking at pics of the bug from 3×12 and it’s now got a MA plate on it…nothing ship-like with that plate…unfortunately I work in auto claims in MA and the only insight I can give is that the sequence of characters on the plate is not a sequence MA plates use…
Hm, but do you get cars from other states??? 🙂 I’m just wondering if KAE was literally a made-up license plate… just for fun 🙂

Regarding the ceiling painting in Baby Emma’s nursery. It has always reminded me of an ee Cummings poem called “Silently If, Out of Not Knowable” because it talks about how the person is their sun, moon, and stars but it talks about climbing into oblivion (hence the beanstalk along with the sun, moon, and star) at one point. Unfortunately, like most of Cumming’s works I have very little idea what the heck the poem is about although I do think it is romantic and deals with losing the selfish parts of yourself (Hook), your sorrows (Hook and Emma) and your fears (Emma) in another person and deals with different worlds, being surprised by a kiss, etc. For those of you who are the excellent writers of our ship or who are great at interpreting poetry, maybe take a look at it and see what you think.
I like this!!! I’m absolutely rubbish at poetry and interpretation like that – it’s all extremely abstract to me. I’m a scientist lol, I deal in facts.
Anyone here good at poetry/abstract thinking???
Regarding the license plate – I don’t know how the system works in America. Is there a state that KAE could represent? I know in Ireland we do it
1) The year the car was bought in
2) The county it was bought in (for Dublin it would be “D”)
3) The number of cars sold that year so far (so for example if you’re buying the first car of 2014 in Dublin your license plate would read: 14-D-00001
So yeah, I’d be interested to see if someone could interpret that license plate more lol 🙂

Okay, the posts regarding foreshadowing turned up again on my tumblr so i’ll post them here:
Confirmed by Adam to be deliberate. So by that extension I am also assuming this to be deliberate:
In that picture you see a beanstalk and a sun – it was a VERY sunny day in the EF when Emma and Hook went to climb up the beanstalk. In fact it was so bright I remember everyone squinting in that scene hahaha.
The star for me indicates Neverland – it’s a very distinctive star, and the moon opposite also indicates Neverland – since currently it seems to be a very dark place and apart from Good Form I don’t think we’ve ever seen it during the day. In fact I’m pretty much positive that in the present day it’s a land of perpetual night.
Obviously in this picture you can see a pirate keychain. Enough said. If you look at the keyrings right next to it – it’s turned around so you can’t see what it’s showing. The only keyrings you can see in any detail are that of the Swan and the Pirate. I mean really, it does not get less subtle than this.

More foreshadowing:
Helm in the bakery window, shown in an Emma scene. It’s also interesting to note that that helm was also shown VERY clearly in the background when Emma and August were having their “date” conversation. These things aren’t done by accident.
Also related – Emma and Graham, when they were arguing about Regina, there was a “marine garage” in the background. I mean really.
In 2×10 there were Swans swimming around – AT NIGHT – when Hook and Cora dismounted from the ship. Coincidence – NOPE.
This one could just be fun, but KAE = Killian and Emma. I don’t think it’s an accident to be honest but whatever lol.
Hooks ring – has what could be either a Swan’s head or a hook (look at the way it’s shaped – it really could be either/or) WITH A FRIGGING HEART AROUND IT I MEAN REALLY

And finally this could just be a coincidence but on the 3D cover of the DVD you have Emma looking at the curse smoke and when you remove Emma from the equation you get Hook’s ship?????????
