HAVE MERCY ON ME AND KILL ME QUICKLY, SOMEONE, ANYONE
I think it’s important to acknowledge the fear in Emma’s expression because for the first time in a long time, someone’s looking at her, wanting to understand her as a child who’s given a kaleidoscope for the first time. There’s nothing more captivating, inviting, gorgeous, or inspiring. Despite being able to read her as a mirror image of himself, he values her to a much higher extent and understands that her beauty can be explored further. He can see how hard this journey’s been for her, and yet he’s proud of her. He’s proud of her for taking charge and fighting. He’s proud of her for confronting what he knows must’ve been difficult. Since Emma understands him, she can see the heartfelt desire in his expression and that frightens her because she doesn’t want the past to be repeated. She doesn’t want to let someone in so she immediately walks away when she realizes how truthful he’s being. If there wasn’t a part of Emma that had wondered what being adored by him would be like, she wouldn’t be afraid of his desire to get to know her. The feeling is so incredibly unfamiliar that she’s afraid of exploring it because of how much her past has damaged her.
Essentially, not only does he want to learn the details of her soul in depth to patch up the wounds for good, but he wants to understand them in order to ardently love every part of her.

This is seriously one of my favorite moments ever for many many reasons, Emma was used to people not wanting her, or giving up of her because of who she was, because not enough, not good enough. Her foster families let her go because she wasn’t what they wanted, Neal ran away when he found out who she was, the savior.
Everybody got repulsed by who she was, and this moment is so beautiful for those precise reasons, Emma recognized she always felt like an orphan, and she’s not really eager to share it with anyone, telling Snow was already hard enough, she doesn’t want to say anything to anyone else.
Yet, you have Killian Jones, telling her right in the eyes, that yes, who she is is good enough, it’s interesting, he cares about who she is and what makes her who she is right now, he cares, and he wants to see more of her, because Emma Swan is worth knowing.
And that’s such a huge big deal for the girl no one wanted or cared for.

KILL ME PLEASE
I think my favorite part about this scene (aside from the searing hot kiss, obviously) is the way Hook’s eyelids flutter as he ever-so-slightly pulls away in the first gif.
He’s still awestruck that they finally kissed, not quite believing that it actually happened, and he gently leans back, gaze flicking down to look at her lips.
But Emma’s not having that, and in the second gif, she follows his mouth and leans right back into him to close that small gap between them.And the way Hook’s eyes finally close all the way and his mouth opens just the tiniest but, hoping for but not expecting another kiss.
I just…
I can’t handle these two.

I’ve always thought the moments after the kiss said everything about where they’re both “at” in the relationship. Hook affectionately nuzzles at her nose, and prepares for another kiss. He’s ready to enter into a romantic relationship with Emma. Emma is restraining herself. You see her struggle. She knows that another kiss wouldn’t just be a kiss. She senses escalation, commitment, passion. I’m that one moment, she tasted a glimpse of her future…and it rattles her.

Are you still doing those drawing prompts? If you are, how about one with Emma trying out a pirate outfit with Hook’s coat and striking a bad*** pose with a sword while he stares openly and smirks a little and says “I always knew you’d make a hell of a pirate…”

Hook has stepped up and is present in selflessly offering his help. She’s not used to people showing up for her, Emma’s used to people letting her down, so she has an overwhelming response to someone who doesn’t let her down and is proving to be there for her. Hook is adding to her life and helpful to her life. [x]
