What as sad episode! I liked it, but felt so sad for the characters, the sense of lost they felt.
Favorite moments:
-The opening scene, especially “Gold, are you insane” “Yes, I am!”
-The conflict between the characters as to what to do with the outsider
-Regina referring to “the two idiots”
-Robert’s performance, as a broken Mr. Gold, and as Rumple in the land without colour.
-Daniel’s announcement that Raphael is going to be a guest on the podcast. (Sorry, does that count as part of the episode?)Lease favorite:
-The promo, and the announcement that the next episode is in 3 weeks.
Frankly, I liked this episode, and don’t understand all the hate directed at it. Then again, I found “Child of the moon” boring, and a lot of people liked it. To each their own. All that to say I did not really have a least favorite moment.

After listing to the official podcast for The Outsider, I’ve got a new little crackpot theory, (which I’m not entirely committed to just yet, but will throw it out there anyway) that perhaps Cora’s heart is in Hook. K&H were asked in the podcast if it’d be revealed where Cora’s heart is hidden, and they said “absolutely, this season.” From what we’ve seen, she didn’t have many possessions on her, but she had Hook, even though, frankly, she probably could have figured out getting to SB solo.
Maybe this is ultimately how Cora will be defeated, by someone removing her heart from Hook’s chest and crushing it? Only two people who can pull out hearts are Regina and Rumple, and I doubt Hook would want either of them fishing around in his chest. It’d be a good way for Regina to prove her worth though, if she rids the town of Cora by doing that. (I swear, one little comment from K&H and my imagination goes into overdrive. Talk about a lost cause. I now return you to your regularly scheduled thread topic. 😛 )
I like this idea!
Now, we know Emma also has magic, so maybe she will be the one to remove Cora heart from Hook. This might even help their romance 🙂

Belle getting shot and loosing her memory. I feel like the writers have some beef against rumbelle this season. They are going to suffer as much as possible before they have some peace together and a happy ending.
On the other hand, all those difficulties will make it more satisfying when they get together and have their happily ever after ending.

Just speculation here, but I’m wondering if the accident was caused because the barrier spell works both ways – keeping Storybrook residents in, and outsiders out.
I thought the accident occurred because Hook, Gold and Belle are standing in the middle of the road having a fight. To drive through the darkness and come upon a bunch of people fighting in the road might cause a driver to try and swerve to try and avoid killing someone. The way people drive on my road they would have been mowed over like bowling pins.Hook would not know what a car was, but Gold and Belle sure would since Gold had a car.
Hi Nonnie,
The whole scene happened so fast, it left me feeling “What the what?”. I had to try to reconstruct in my mind what had just happened, so I did not see what caused the accident.
ceegeParticipantHi AuntBee,
Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I’ll have to wait a few weeks before reading it. I love how this show keeps surprising me, so I avoid spoilers like plague.

As per that post that EvilQueen linked to up thread, I’m currently TeamWizard, because the license plate clues seem to potentially point to an association with Wizard of Oz.
I’m hoping for a Wizard of Oz storyline soon, so I hope you’re right. Would you mind explaining what is the Wizard connection with the plate, as I have no idea what it is. Thanks
ceegeParticipantI was hoping that the driver of the car was going to be Neal. I had not realised that the plates from from a state other than N.Y. (where Neal is from). Did we actually see the driver? Everything happened so fast, I barely had time to register what had happened.
I am hoping that the driver does not not turn out to be Bae – that would be too easy for Rumple to have his son come to him. Of course, there could always be difficulties on an emotional level, but I’m hoping for a journey here, a physical one as well as an emotional one.
Just speculation here, but I’m wondering if the accident was caused because the barrier spell works both ways – keeping Storybrook residents in, and outsiders out. He would have managed to get through presumably because when he wrote the spell, Rumple did not know about cars and how powerful they can be. Just a thought.
ceegeParticipantHello everyone,
My internet connection was down last week, so this is my first post since the winter break. I hope everyone had a good holiday season.
What an episode. Favorite moments:
1) The ending – totally shocked, as I did not see it coming. Hit me like a ton of bricks. I guess I did not expect Hook to recover so quickly.
2) Belle – nice to see her have something to do outside of the usual Rumbelle storyline.
3) Rumpel showing the cloth that used to belong to Bae. We know that everything he did was to be reunited with his son, yet this was one of the only post-Dark One parental moment we’ve seen from him. Every other time, we see him as a manipulating self-centered individual.
4) Henry’s reaction when finding out Regina is innocent: “Shouldn’t we tell her?” Priceless!
Least favorite moment:
1) House hunting with the Charmings
2) Belle! She did not deserve that. However Rumple deserved to be punished, could they not haveed Belle? Yes, I know that’s what made the ending dramatic and shocking –
I guess I want to have my cake and it eat too. But I was so hoping that true love once again would break the curse – that because she grabbed Rumple (her most cherished thing) as she went over the line, that it would spare her the memory loss. Only hope – since Rumple said it could not be undone, it’s almost a tv talk clue to say that they will find a way.ceegeParticipantDidn’t Regina also say “I saw her body”? So both of them assume Cora is dead. If they battled in Wonderland, why would Rumple bring her body back? Unless he took Regina with him to go battle Cora.
I don’t recall Hat trick well, but was Regina aware of the Queen of Hearts? If so, then we can’t have both Cora as the QofH AND assumed to be dead by Regina at the time of that episode. Since Page is about the same age in Storybrook as in the events of Hat trick, the episode happened soon before the curse, and does not leave enough time for a battle to the death.

Do think maybe a line from Emma like “so….you talk to birds now?” could have helped
Maybe Emma is quickly become blase about the enchanted world. Or so overwhelmed that nothing surprises her anymore.
