The Blue Fairy Theory is a good one. It is plausible she like Rumple has been in a lot of the storylines and interacted with many characters. It would make sense for her to know a lot of what happened and why not write it down especially if it can help the savior do her job. The book I am willing to guess contains magic or some unlock of magic for Emma. Every story she reads does something to her. I believe she’s read the entire book so she has all of the magic she needs however, her denial mentally blocks her from using any of it. Just like her emotions kept her from seeing Sidney’s lies or others lies. She did say she was a human lie detector.

Great Emma’s characterization in this episode. We finally see a bit of her we hadn’t seen before, which is her being a coward essentially. Yet, I think most people in her situation would have done the same thing.
So in the Stranger, August points out that Emma doesn’t want to believe. It’s not like Emma doesn’t think it couldn’t be real, that SB could be FTL, but that she really, really, really doesn’t want that to be so. Emma doesn’t want to take up the responsibility of being the savior. So her magic is preventing her from seeing the truth. It’s granting her wish. Shows how powerful she is. Her magic is sooo subtle that she doesn’t even know that its affecting her.
All I can say to this is ‘I’ll show you a book about Aliens & then YOU have to totally believe they are real & to boot it’s also your job to save everyone on the planet’
how would you react to this info? 🙄
Because if someone rocked up to me with the evidence Emma has & was serious about me believing in something so totally ludicrous- Id be freaked out (I mean EVERYONES well being becoming my own responsibility 😯 & OMG- this person REALLY believes what they are saying) & probably pissed off to boot (I mean how would you feel if someone wanted you to believe in something insane/ socially unacceptable)- it’d be like an insane person REALLY wanting you to believe in their delusion- which ONLY they can see – that’s a big ask for anyone 🙄But then how come she didn’t see the wooden leg? That wooden leg is apart of reality, if she simply didn’t believe it, then she would have seen it. No magic needed. Regular, human eyes should have revealed August’s leg. August says her denial is so deep it’s affecting her to see the truth. She doesn’t want to believe it. She’s telling herself not to believe it. She’s asking herself not to believe it and she’s granting her own wish. Some part of her knows it’s true. It’s a difference of opinion, I believe she knows it and doesn’t want to face it. She’s running away from it!
I agree. You never answered the question about the book and Aliens and saving the planet.
I know my reaction and answer to that which would be the same as Emma get my kid and run. I’d do that and I do not have a kid or wife or both. She is human. Just like everyone beating down on David for doing the things he does, he’s human. You are asking someone to believe that people you are meeting are characters in stories you read as a child and are here. Tell you the truth I would not have gotten as far as she did. I’d just drop him off and say see ya kid call me, email me and hey you know where to find me.charmingParticipantI do not think that breaking the curse is going to happen this season. I think by the finale Emma will believe. Curse breaking isn’t going to happen when the breaker does not believe nor care enough to try to believe. Emma will believe by the end but another issue will arise afterwards. What exactly I cannot tell right now but season finales usaually follow this gameplan. That final twist will leave us guessing for about four months.
charmingParticipantIt not about doing no wrong neccessarily the issue. Everyone seems very hard on David and mind you he is everyman in the world right now. He is not bound by chivalry or honor or obligation. Think about your last ex-boyfriends whom you have all thought was a (you know what). He is regular guy who is without his marbles actually from another world.
charmingParticipantYes it was not fair to have placed a 7 year old boy to guard the guardian. It was too much to ask to send a 7 year old boy to watch over an infant. The wardrobe was meant for 2 meaning Snow and Charming but Emma arrived early so it was then intended to be Snow and Emma. Geppetto was wrong to have extorted the safety of Pinnochio in order to even consider making the wardrobe.
charmingParticipantEmma isn’t a coward nor is she scared. She like she said, “did not sign up for this.” Pinnochio is to blame for all of this. Had he not left her she’d believe. He made a promise to stay with her after Geppetto extorted and played everyone’s life in FTL to get Pinnochio into the wardrobe. When you have lived a certain way for 28 years and one day you are expected to believe that FT characters are really, you are a daughter of two Ft characters, your son finds you and tells you all of this as well as saying you need to save everyone in FTL, how is anyone to react? “Yeah Ok. I’ll just go save FTL. Let’s go.” She’s reacting like anyone who has just heard the most outrageous story and was expected to believe it. She needs to see it first hand.
charmingParticipantI think they have done plenty with the character. They finally confirmed him as Pinnochio. He has confronted both Gold and Emma about the curse. He has even started to connect with Geppetto and unknowlingly he has forgiven August. There is a saying, “It is never too late for kindness.” Forgiveness fits into that saying very well too.
charmingParticipantI will add I think Princess Abigail is also Sleeping Beauty. There is no point in introducing a new character and a new realm for this storyline and besides what do we knbow about Abby other than she use to be the nag with the bad attitude who then helped Charming get away from King George who then saved her love.
charmingParticipantEmma in her defense is acting like anyone who had just heard that kind of news. How many movies have been made where there was a savior character involved and they do not want it, believe nor asked for it but yet they have to do it because it was their destiny?? Put youself in their place and have someone come right up to you and say you will save all of mankind or whatever?? How would you react? How would anyone act? In fact how should anyone act?? This type of thing does not happen everyday and you know what?…..I’d think it was far fetched too. Yes she was a trained law enforcement officer and bases her findings on facts and there are just not any smoking gun evidence to prove that they are all FT characters.
charmingParticipantI agree. It is finally good to know exactly who August is. Now we have to find out the fate of Bae.
