We need to start with what we know about the book.
1) Rumple is not in the book
2) August fixed the book (adding a story)
3) Mr. Gold is never seen with or near nor does he make mention of it as Gold.
4) Until the first episode Regina knew nothing about the book and read the entire book cover to cover. this eliminates her as author. At the time she was the only one who remembers botth worlds and how can one knowing both worlds not know avout a book that can help destroy her and why would someone write a book that can destroy themselves.
5) Before Emma arrived Henry has had it for about one month and Mary Margaret gave it to him in her classroom.
6) Both Jefferson and Belle have not yet acknowledged to existance of the book, nor Rumple.
7) The Queen of Hearts and Baelfire had both departed FTL by the time many of the stories of season one had been told so how can they know about the things that happened after they left?[adrotate group="5"]charmingParticipant@hjbau wrote:
I don’t think anyone built the town. I think the town just appeared when everyone moved from the fairytale land to the real world.
I agree it has been said many times that no one comes to Storybrooke. It appears until the arrival of Emma and August that no one had ever come to Storybrooke that could remember.
charmingParticipantI think it will be connected to Jefferson, his hat and that room with all of those doors. other than that I cannot see a connection yet.
charmingParticipantMine would have to be Snow and Charming. The whole series centers around them. Not Rumple and Belle who are great characters but side characters; very good ones mind you.

It is just another sword then? It isn’t special in some way. That is sort of sad. Then why did Rumpel give her her father’s sword specifically. Why keep it? Though i guess these objects could have just shown up in his shop when the curse happened and he didn’t actually collect them.
In reference to the sword….how did Rumple ever get possession of it. In the pilot both Charming and Snow picked it up. After it was thrown at the Queen it hit the wall in her castle. The only time Rumple touched it was when he blocked a blow and that was before he saves Snow.
charmingParticipantI disagree they called each other by their FTL names and kissed. They probably know by now that their SB lives was a farce; the strain will be between each of them and Emma.
charmingParticipantIt did take a while for Emma to stop calling Henry “kid”, so going with that she’s gonna call Snow “Snow” before she can call her Mom. It took her one whole season to say that she loved Henry. Growing pains and baby steps.

Emma knows Snow as MM her son’s teacher and the woman she lives with and prior to the “curse break” they really did not speak to each other and she never took her as mom seriously unitl it broke. The relationship the 3 will have is going to be an interesting one.

I never connected Emma to the Swan Princess, probably because Disney didn’t do that movie. And her name was Odette. My neice used to be obsessed with that movie. I always thought the Swan referred to The Ugly Duckling. In that story, the ugly ducking felt left out and like it didn’t belong. It was never really part of the group. Then it grew up into a beautiful swan and found it’s own kind and happiness. That’s Emma. She didn’t belong to anyone as a child or up till now. She’s finally blossoming into a swan and has found her family and place in the world.
That’s Swan Lake not Swan Princess. Disney did do Swan Princess and is based on Swan Lake.
It wasn’t the Disney company. I know my Disney shows. It was another movie company, but not Disney.

You’re correct that it’s based on Swan Lake, but her name was Odette in The Swan Princess, too. I still know most of the songs and have a copy somewhere. I must of had to watch it a million times. My neice used to be in love with Prince Derek and loved the “Princesses on Parade” scene while my nephew loved Rothbart.
And I didn’t mean that she was actually the Ugly Duckling in the story, just that it sums up what her character has been through and the connection to the name Swan and why they picked it.
Point taken on Swan Princess. Disney list ten official princesses. Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahantas, Mulan, Tiana and Rapunzel.
