Emma’s work ethic. What’s the deal with her and Will. I can’t recall the exact wording, but..
why am I locked up? You messed up my date. When are you letting me out? When I feel like it.
Here’s dinner. Water and a half eaten pop tart. Don’t worry. I’ve had my shots. Who is this lady?

ParticipantShe’s acting out the lyrics..let it go. The past is in the past. Let it go.
I am going to say something shocking: I hate the message of this song.
The past cannot be “let go.” It follows you wherever you go. And saying that you can somehow distance yourself from your past is a very romantic notion that we all like to think is possible, but it’s not. You’re past is a part of you. Always. You’re never ever free from it.
Like my current siggy say: there are ghosts everywhere. We carry them with us wherever we go.
Oh, I beg to differ, but you can. And, speaking for myself, I have. You certainly can be free from it and let it go.

ParticipantI thought the scene of Emma looking through he box of memories was VERY important to the story of her journey.
Emma keeps those things because they’re important to her. They’re her history. They represent joys in her life. But also turmoils. Neal was the heartfelt joy in her life. But he was also a layer of pain on which she’s built her walls. The camera represented the beginning of what she hoped would be her first real friendship, but also another layer of bricks in her wall. The blanket, a lost childhood, lost family. Higher walls.
When Emma used her magic, when she spoke with Elsa, when she told Regina she wouldn’t walk away from their friendship, she was, in a sense, letting go of resentment. In her memory of Lily, and how she used those memories to help heal herself and heal her friendship with Regina, she was learning to let go of hurt and acknowledge strength, friendship. She’s learning to let go of the past hurt and look to the future.
Emma’s walls are being washed away, little by little. It’s shown in how she dresses, how she uses magic, and in how she’s relating to others, and in particular, to Regina. But you can’t move forward without reflecting on where you’ve come from.
Emma can’t look to her future with hope unless she acknowledges her past. And her past included both pain and and joy. Both of which she reflected on when she opened her box of memories.
I saw this scene as very important in the story of Emma’s journey. She’s at a crossroads, breaking down her walls.
She’s acting out the lyrics..let it go. The past is in the past. Let it go.

ParticipantIf I were Rumple, I would have destroyed that cuff so it never sees the light of day, and can never be used on me again.

ParticipantNobody who has met the snow queen before that Zelda portal was opened remembers her. Yet, she’s always been there. They only have very recent memories of her. Except Gold. And, it was implied that Gold helped SQ sometime in the past.
Since Belle’s story of her lost mother involves memory loss, one can infer that SQ was involved in Belle’s mother’s death, and that at some point Belle learned it was the Snow Queen who provoked her death.
I think Belle’s mother fell to her death in a scene similar to the scene we see of Ana and Belle.
Belle never recognized Sarah Fisher as the snow queen due to memory loss, but she may recognize the title “Snow Queen”, and now she wants To find her to avenge her mother’s death.

ParticipantSparkles, tiaras, jewelry and hairdos. Oh, and boots. Belle’s ankle boots, Emma boots, riding boots, Graham’s boots. All boots.

ParticipantSnow Queen wasn’t wearing that dress in Storybrooke. And she wasn’t wearing it when she escaped the urn either. And, we’ve never seen her wear her tiara. But she sure is dressed up here, crown and all. She’s a beautiful queen! What event has she dressed up for?

ParticipantIsn’t Aurora also in this episode?

ParticipantWell, since I’ve never lived with magical people, I had no idea that memory loss was such a common occurrence.
I still think that a living witch, like Zelena, cast a spell over the Snow Queen that nobody who spoke to her would remember her, thus, she would never find love, or family. This is why nobody remembers, or knows her.
But, when that witch died, the spell was broken. And now, everyone remembers only recent convos with her, but not convos from the past.
Also why she doesn’t appear in the census, yet there is that picture that indicates she’s been in Storybrooke from the beginning. So far, the only person who seems to know her from the past is…guess who…Gold.
