WOW! That is huge! I’m definitely on board with Neal being Baelfire now.
…and the Swanfire ship. š

After witnessing your father murder innocent people, having him abandon you for magic and power, and being thrown into a new and dangerous world, yes, Bae should be a broken and depressed man. Those are some seriously traumatic events for someone to suffer through. He had no one to take care of him, no skills to get a proper job in this world, and no knowledge of how to survive in this world.
A lot of people speculated that Baelfire would turn out to be a bit of a troublemaker or lost soul the next time we see him. So, Nealās personality fits perfectly for how Bae would be NOW. Just because he had a few early years of happiness doesn’t mean that you should grow up normal and well-adjusted.
Yeah, I agree. Watching the only person in the world you ever truly loved essentially turn into a demon right before your very eyes, watching him murder and terrorize innocent people, and being thrown into an entirely different world from youāre used to. That is TERRIFYING. Just having one of these things happen to you would cause someone to become suicidal. And then add on top of that he grew up without a mother, he was almost sent to war, his father was constantly being terrorized by his fellow villagers because of his cowardice during the ogre wars, and knowing that your father, your idol, your hero, abandoned you for magic and powerā¦Dudeā¦youāre gonna have one messed up kid on your hands. Nealās current personality makes total sense to me.
cherishParticipantI think āheroā was the wrong term for him. But heās definitely a Byronic āfigure.ā
cherishParticipantWelcome!
cherishParticipantHa ha! I love the parallels between Neal and Mr. Gold, and Neal and Henry. Great clip! I like Neal. Heās snarky. š
cherishParticipantWelocme The Fairest! I’m new here too! I really like your posts, by the way. š
cherishParticipant^This. š
cherishParticipantGREAT EPISODE! š
Favorite Moments:
-David Anders as Dr. Frankenstein. His acting was superb and he looked amazing.-Seeing Rumpel and Jefferson acting like total bros. š I had no idea they even knew each other. Those two could make for a wicked bromance.
Least Favorite Moments:
-Regina ripping out the girl’s heart towards the end of the episode. I thought it would take an entire season to see how Regina became evil, but it only took 2 episodes. I still find her reasoning for becoming evil a bit weak.-Not enough Dr. Frankenstein. This wasnāt his episode, it was Reginaās. I didnāt like that.
cherishParticipantI loved the episode, but I wish it was more Dr. Whale centric. This episode was more Regina centric with Dr. Frankenstein as a side character. The episode is called “The Doctor” and yet, Dr. Frankenstein didn’t come into the picture until the episode was half way done.
October 29, 2012 at 12:17 pm in reply to: The origin of Regina’s hatred for Rumple and Jefferson? #158397cherishParticipantAs much as I love how the writers are trying to redeem Reginaās character, Iām not liking how theyāre excusing everything sheās ever done. Many of her past offenses are already being pushed aside. Her hating Snow, her leaving Jefferson in Wonderland, ect. Next weāre going to learn that the reason why she killed Graham is because he accidently killed one of her wolves or something. š
Just have her be responsible for her own actions and grow from them. Donāt excuse them and try to rationalize them. Evil isnāt rational, so trying to make sense of Reginaās most evil deeds is kind of useless. I donāt expect the writers to justify or excuse Rumpel killing his wife or killing his maid. So, why do it with Regina?
