Well, at the moment I wonder why there is that trigger and the Fail Safe build into the curse. I mean, Rumplestilskin created it to find Bae and it doesn’t seem like he planned to get back to EF after finding him and like Regina told Hook it can kill him. So why would he do that? Maybe because he is a coward? Or maybe because he didn’t created the curse and just changed an existing one. But who else would be able to create such a dark curse?
    I’m little bit confused now.^^

So thanks to google image search I’ve found out that this is an illustration by Arthur Rackham called “Old Elf hiding behing Tulips” and it is from the book “Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens” source.

The other illustration we just can see partially is also by Arthur Rackham and it’s from the fairy tale “The Three Little Men in the Wood”.

The hat with the feather on it reminds me about that unkown tiny man we are discussing in another thread.

Also I catched two other things in his room. That fruits on his table are dragonfruits(pitayas) and the door behind him looks like it has swastikas on it. A symbol which represents eternety, well being and in western cultures it stands for good luck (Maybe he is a luck dragon^^)

I don’t think that’s Rumpelstiltskin. He is too tiny to be able to spin straw to gold also there is no scene in the original fairy tale which would fit to this illustration. The most Rumplestilskin illustrations shows him with the miller’s daughter or dancing around his and singing his rhyme.

I have no idea who this tiny man is. I was thinking about that the he might be something like the Thumbling or Tom Thumb, but he looks more like an imp or some little elf. Maybe he is a Kobold or an elf. But I have no idea from which tale/story he is.

    A very interesting thread.

The Dragon also wear an amulet with a red stone/jewelry around his neck. Now I wonder what kind of red stone that is.^^

If Zoso wasn’t the first dark one, who was? Where did the power come from?

It opens up the oppurtunity for so many stories!

Right that opens up a lot of opportunities. My guess is that the first dark one was someone more important than “Zoso”. Maybe a very specific evil folklore character like Koschei or Mephistopheles. But I think it was original a human who got cursed in some way.

Well, I think we will see one day more about the origin of the dark one, maybe it will be in a Blue Fairy centric episode. She seemded to be the oldest character on the show.
Maybe it’s like Phee theoriezed, that she tried to get rid of the darkness inside her or maybe she fell in love with a human and tried to make him immortal and he became accidental the dark one.

I would like to see the legendary musician Orpheus and his wife Eurydice on the show because I would really love to see a music based character on the show and I think their story could totally fit into the OUAT-universe.

In OUAT Frankenstein is from Austria. In the original novel, I think, he is from Switzerland, .

Well, after I’ve read the title I really think that Heidi is Wendy. I guess they gave her the name Heide for the casting call because in the Heidi novel Heidi’s best friend is Peter the goat-herd.

Well, it mustn’t be Goethe’s inlfuence. Faust is from German folklore and is based on the historical Dr. Johann Georg Faust, an alchemist who accidental blowed himself up in c. 1540.
