E.T.A. Hoffmann’s “Der Sandmann” (Sandman) could also fit into this land. I would really like to see an automaton/roboter girl like Olympia.

Well, actually there was a time. During the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy 1867-1918. Each, Austria and Hungary at that time had a parliament and a prime minister (Ministerpräsident), ruled by Habsburg monarch as Emperor of Austria (Kaiser von Österreich) and as King of Hungary.
Near the town Völkermarkt, not far from Klagenfurt in Carinthia there is even a castle which is known as Ramschüsselhof or Frankenstein. (here information about it in German)
Didn’t know there is a castle Frankenstein in Austria. Just know about the three castle Frankensteins in Germany.
Well, I guess you right, there was a time with a prime minister and a emperor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austrian_Empire) and maybe there was also a “Staatskanzler” (chancelor) at the beginning.“There were thousands and thousands of forms of joy in the world, but that all were essentially one and the same, namely, the joy of being able to love.”

I noticed that too. Are there any other worlds or dimensions that are associated by the color green other than Oz? Maybe we’re missing something. Hmmm…
hmm my first thought was Phantasien/Fantasia/Fantastika from the Neverending Story. In the book the parts which Bastian in the real world are printed in red ink and the parts with Atreyu in Fantasia are printed in green ink.
But the Neverending Story is not possible because of right issues. So my second thought was the magic green and yellow rings from the Narnia books which allows you to travel to other lands like Charn(where Jadis came from) and Narnia. But since I remember the green rings are that rings which can bring you back to the real world.
So I don’t have any idea which’s world door this one possibly could be.

But the hat was burned.
So my question is: will we ever see our infamous room of doors again? The hat can still appear in flashbacks and possibly they will be able to make that other hat which Emma made to work.
Other thing I’m wondering: Is Jefferson the only portal jumper or are/was there more?
And is the hat the only way to get into the room of doors?“There were thousands and thousands of forms of joy in the world, but that all were essentially one and the same, namely, the joy of being able to love.”
— from the Neverending Story by Michael EndeClessidorParticipantWell, we saw in “The Thing You Loved Most” that gnome who was one with the darkest souls and got turned into to stone by Regina. He could be that ungrateful dwarf.
So I’m thinking that the Snow-White and Rose-Red Story happened after “Child of the Moon” and we will see it later on the show.
When I’m thinking that Red said in that episode to Snow White after they buried Anya that she didn’t lost her familiy, she protected it. So it could be the point where they became like sisters.“There were thousands and thousands of forms of joy in the world, but that all were essentially one and the same, namely, the joy of being able to love.”
— from the Neverending Story by Michael EndeClessidorParticipantRecently, I took a closer look to these doors to make a guess if on of them could lead to the world without color.
So I think that it could be door 4 or door 9. Both aren’t colored and would fit into a black and white world. I would guess it’s number 9. That door looks a little bit more dark and would fit more into a 30’s black and white movie, I think. Also I looked at door 7 and door 11.
The white frame of door 7 has a similar shape like Taj Mahal. So I guess that door leads into the world of the junglebook.
That white thing at door 11 looks for me like a deer. Maybe it’s a reference to Bambi.“There were thousands and thousands of forms of joy in the world, but that all were essentially one and the same, namely, the joy of being able to love.”

I read this on wikipedia-
“Nostos (Greek: νόστος) (pl. nostoi) is the Greek word for homecoming, the idea of returning home from a long journey. Nostos is a theme dealt with in many Homeric writings such as the Odyssey, in which the main character, Odysseus, strives to get home after the Trojan War. The plural term nostoi is applied to Greek heroes’ homeward journeys after the taking of Troy and is the name of one of the poems of the Epic Cycle on that theme”I’m not sure, but is the Name of the Lake Nostros? But anyway I really like the idea that the name of the lake could based on that greek word. Sirens are also from Greek mythology. So that could work.

Maybe they need to jump in the well and then they will appear in lake Nostos in Fairytale land.
That sounds a little bit to easy for me. But when I rember it has been said, that the wishing well has the power to return that which is lost to its rightful place. The question is: If this also includes real persons?
Well, a well can really be a portal to other worlds. Here in Germany one of the most popular Grimm fairy tales is “Frau Holle” (Mother Hulda) in which you can enter her world (Maybe it’s the Celtic Otherworld) by jumping in a well. But more interesting is that “Frau Holle” is much more than a normal fairy tale character. She is part of German folklore e.g. there exist a lake called Frau-Holle-Teich in Germany about which it has been said that it is possible to enter her world through that Lake.@medchen wrote:
I always wondered why, what’s his name, cinderellas husband, disapeared near the well and you thought he had fallen in, but then he just magically appeared in Storybrook like nothing had happened, and there was never an explanation to it. But that’s probably it- he fell in the well in Fairytale land and ended up in Storybrook
I think that his name was Thomas. Yeah and that is still a big mystery, what happened with him. But we never saw him after the curse was broken, so maybe we will see him again to find out what happened.
And he mustn’t fell into the well, he could have been kidnapped by something we don’t know yet. Maybe somone has turn him into a frog and that’s is the Reason why he left something of his clothes at the well.
But I don’t think that the well brought him into Storybrook. I think it was just the Dark Curse.“There were thousands and thousands of forms of joy in the world, but that all were essentially one and the same, namely, the joy of being able to love.”

I agree the name would made it a little bit too obvious. Maybe Hooks Spyglass is right and she is Auroras mom and in real she is the original Sleeping Beauty, the sleeping valkyrie Brynhild/Brünhild/Brinhild (soo many name Variations^^). This could explain that female warrior thing. But on the other hand I can remember that Horowitz mentioned in an interview that Achilles would be possible.I also know that Helena of Troy is part of the Faust. She appears in Goethes Faust II. and the first “Faust Book” from 1587, the “Historia von D. Johann Fausten”. So it could really be Helena of Troy. Well, we will see.

Lots of shades of gray. This sound interesting.“There were thousands and thousands of forms of joy in the world, but that all were essentially one and the same, namely, the joy of being able to love.”

Revised version of the theory: Chernobog is the creator of Rumpelstiltskin’s dagger and somehow he got somebody to bring it to the Enchanted Forest. He comes to Storybrooke and he is mainly after Rumpelstiltskin and by association Belle. Everybody ( maybe Regina too ) has to team up with Rumbelle to take down Chernobog. Also he becomes the big villian of the show that everybody ( except maybe the villians ) has to take down.
Info about Chernobog:
I also have never heard of Chernobobog before. But I find the fact very interesting that Koschei is one of his one incarnations because Koschei the Deathless reminds me a little bi on the Dark One.
Koschei is immortal because he put his soul inside of a needle, which is inside of an egg, inside of a duck, inside of a rabbit, inside of an iron chest, which is buried under a green oak the island of Bujan in the middle of the ocean.
When someone is in possession of the egg which the that nail inside it he is able to control Koschei. (Also this reminds on Pirates of Caribbean’s Davy Jones and Voldemort’s Horcruxes)
Supposedly if you embed the needle into Koschei’s head you can kill himSo the similarity is that both have to serve you when you have that thing which can kill him. I mean maybe Rumple is immortal but I don’t think it is because his soul is inside the dagger. He is still able to love Belle and Baelfire. So I’m not sure if this would be a good theory. (Maybe that ripping out the heart thing is based on Koschei?)
