I think we may get the answer to this question very soon. One of the sneak peeks for this week is of Regina trying to convince Jefferson to make one last trip out of SB to retrieve something for her in FTL. I think we'll see how he travels between the two and whether FTL still exists after the curse was enacted.
Wait… we already saw this episode…..

ParticipantI just realized that Charming was a shepherd, and David was a shepherd.
David= David from the Torah/Bible. Not sure if this holds any significance, but I just saw it on Jeopardy, when David was the answer to something about “this man was a shepherd….” Naturally, I thought of OUAT immediately. 😆clockwatcher
ParticipantWell, I don’t think SB is necessarily a different dimension. It’s almost like a world within our world. Where time was frozen. SB is a part of our world, but maybe it wasn’t before the curse. For example, if the EQ created SB when she enacted the curse, then it would be a random magic town in the middle of Maine.
But maybe the characters were transported to SB from the EF.
Either way, none of the characters in SB could leave SB besides Emma, August, and Henry because they were all cursed, except for those three.clockwatcher
ParticipantWow, cool theory!
That actually sort of makes sense- if the different dimensions all make up FTL, and what we’ve been calling FTL is really the Enchanted Forest (EF). In which case, all the doors in Jefferson’s hat could be the dimensions that make up FTL, and our world, assuming there is a door that leads here, would also be a part of FTL. Maybe then there’s a door to the EF, or some other portal.
Doors, beans, who knows? 😆clockwatcher
ParticipantOncescape: I see what you mean, since SB could have randomly popped up in our world because of the curse. But, I didn’t think that she could transform the entire FTL world into the small town of SB.
So, I did some research.
I went on the transcripts link that Weedith posted, and found that in the pilot episode, Henry said (to Emma): “The Evil Queen did it [froze time] with her curse. She sent everyone from the Enchanted Forest here.”
So, this means two things:
1. The characters were transported, and FTL wasn’t destroyed, since “she SENT everyone….”
2. The entire world of FTL wasn’t transported to SB; only people in the Enchanted Forest were sent to the land without magic. And I don’t think the whole world of FTL consisted of the EF.If only a portion of FTL spontaneously combusted (for all the other FT characters know), who knows what could be happening NOW in FTL? 😀

Participant1. They weren’t destroyed, they were transported 😉
2. That’s a good theory, but not very likely. Since we aren’t viewing the world from a character’s perspective, we know magic is real, like when we saw the magic colorful misty stuff when Cora and Rumple cast spells. And we know FTL is real.clockwatcher
ParticipantCan I call that during Emma and Regina’s custody battle over Henry, Archie will back up Emma and testify for her in court, because he knows what Henry thinks about Regina based on Henry’s sessions with Archie.

ParticipantThe updated timeline is so cool! Could I help update it?

ParticipantI wanted to say Team Emma, but I voted team Regina because first of all, Emma doesn’t even believe yet, and there are only TWO EPISODES LEFT. I could also see how Rumple would win, but I don’t think we’ll be seeing Bae this season, and that’s his main goal. Yes, he also aims to defeat Regina, but I don’t think she’ll be disappearing from the show anytime soon…

ParticipantWell. think of it this way: Regina can still take out people’s hearts and crush them, etc., right? Which means that magic must exist. But maybe the only magic that will work in SB is magic that was enacted before the curse.
Or, maybe magic does exist in SB, and SB is like a world within a world (which it technically is). Maybe each character in SB actually has magic, but not the power to use it, because they don’t remember who they are, or the curse PREVENTS them from using magic, without really taking it away. -
