That’s a really good point Marilou- whoever has written the book does seem to be limited in the story, maybe to highlight the viewers own understanding of the tales? I hadn’t really questioned the credibility of the book before – but now I really am! Thought it would be someone with first-hand knowledge of most of these stories (Rumple or Blue Fairy) but it could be an interesting twist to have it be a spectator of these events or maybe someone collecting these stories from second-hand sources…Is there a Rita Skeeter in Fairytale land? 😀
Thank you so much. I was so nervous about posting such a different opinion. I was afraid people would start throwing rocks at me.
1)Marilou, I HAVE to say: I love you for making a Harry Potter reference! That’s hilarious 😆
2) We’re oncers. I don’t think many of us would throw rocks at you. Well, except maybe Docxen LOL 😆
3) This is really actually a great theory! We’ve spent so much time focusing on the big, stand-out characters in relation to the book, and the truth is: we really have no idea who wrote the book. Odds are we might not know until seasons from now. The book is obviously important, but there isn’t anything on the show pointing to anyone who could be the writer of the book. So even though we see so many reasons why Rumple, or the Blue Fairy, or another very important character could have written it up, we really have no evidence to support these theories. BUT, maybe that will change in season 2… 😉[adrotate group="5"]clockwatcher
ParticipantI think it would be more dramatic for the show if, out of nowhere, True Love appears.
BUT… It could be someone we’ve seen. Maybe Emma is true Love. She wouldn’t then have a hand in setting everything up, but she’s the savior, and she IS the outcome of Snow and Charming’s true love. Maybe she’s more than just the savior- she’s the savior because Rumple set it up that up. But if she was also True Love… what other attributes, and power, could come with the title, if True Love is basically the unbeatable, all-powerful magic?

ParticipantWell, the reason Henry aged was because the curse had never touched him- the same way it never touched August and Emma. Henry was born after the curse was put into place, and because of that- because he wasn’t present when the curse was cast over the EF- he could age, just like any other person in the world.
So, yes, it much have been quite strange when he was 10 and all of his 5-year-old-friends… were still 5. 🙂clockwatcher
