No I agree with you. I was listening to Operation Cobra’s final podcast (315) and I realized that not only did I agree with everything they said about Quiet Minds but that the writing on ONCE is really starting to bother me as well. Inconsistent rules of magic, huge gaping plot holes, characters acting OOC to what they’ve done before, curse/amnesia/TLK/villains who have the same psychological makeup as the one before, lack of equal representation of all kinds of people, filler and colorless characters, no time to breathe or explain because you must advance plot…. There is a difference between hating/bashing and having actual legit criticisms. A lot of what people say are legit criticisms. But lately it just gets shot down as “you’re a hater”

Exactly. Some people don’t understand that we criticise some aspects of the show because we love it. I put an end to the conversation on the FB page because I don’t want to have a fight with anybody, it just makes me sad when people say I’m inventing things… This forum is so much more peaceful…

PS : Sorry about the spoiler thing in my previous post, I didn’t want to spoil anybody, I’ll be more careful next time 😉

I just saw Sneak Peek #2 on the OUAF FB page, and I said that Hook is a bit OOC and that the writers are starting to mess up their characters (I don’t think I need to convince you on that point, that’s pretty much what we’ve been saying for 2 weeks). When the woman who runs the page answered me, I started to wonder why I bothered to say something :

“I think that the writers who actually invented these characters know what they would and wouldn’t do. They can’t be ‘messing up’ their own inventions. They are simply telling the story they want to tell, regardless of whether or not it pleases everyone.”

I just read another interview of H&K, here’s an extract (actually it’s the only extract that matters for this thread), I don’t think I need to use the spoiler thing, because it doesn’t seem too spoilery :

It seemed to be a parodic episode. Very short funeral, no dialogue, Henry looked totally lost, and the fact that Rumple is not here and that Hook, the man who took Neal’s mom away and who handed him to Peter Pan, is the first to dump some dirt on his coffin, is a complete insult to the character.

But I am really tired of being mad at the writers and of thinking that the show is dead since 315 etc… I want to believe that it’s not over for Neal and for SF. Remember, “everything happens for a reason”, I simply can’t believe that the reason for Neal’s death is just the WW’s name. Moreover, the writers have drawn too many parallels between SF and Philora and between Neal and Anastasia from OUATinWL, and it’s all leading to solutions to bring Neal back. I don’t think that H&K’s tweets were meant to make fun of anyone, I can’t remember what they said, but I’m starting to think they’re dropping hints. After all, it is way too risky for them to completely go against their show, against its principles; just look at the petition asking for Neal’s return that gathered more than 1,200 signatures in only 3 days.

We should make a list of all these clues, and you’ll see that all your theories are not that cracked.

Hi everyone,

I ‘ve been away from the forum for quite a long time, I had to focus on getting my baccalaureate (the French equivalent of A levels in the UK, the HSC in Australia, or the high school certificate in the US).

I watched the episode yesterday and… I don’t know, I just need to talk about it. I feel betrayed. I truly believed in this show, in its principles, in the fact that you can have your happy ending, but everything disappeared in the space of ten minutes…

Right now, I don’t know what to think about the creators of the show. I just read their interview about Neal’s death, and I felt that it was a huge bunch of lies. Adam says “Eddy and I, as we’ve been developing the larger story of Once beyond each individual episode, saw where it was going. Earlier this year, when we realized this is the time that Neal would die”

It was indeed the time for some characters to go…but it was never time for Neal to die. Neal has been through a lot during the whole show, and they brought him back just to say “actually he died a year ago, but here’s a little death scene bye”. Kitsis & Horrowitz were laughing at us when Adam added “We did our best.”. So your “best” is to kill the most kindhearted character of the show without his son remembering him. Like I posted on the facebook page of “Once Upon A Time Fans”, if Neal’s death was already planned and if it’s really a permanent death, then Kitsis and Horrowitz are nothing but hypocrites.

However, there is still a part of me that wants to believe that heroes fall only to rise again. There are just so many things that don’t match : A hero dies because he didn’t know the price for his actions ? I don’t buy it. They destroy SwanFire even though we learn in the same episode that Neal & Emma have True Love ? And they don’t share a last True Love’s Kiss ?I don’t buy it. Would the creators do something that goes COMPLETELY against their show ? I don’t think so. I just hope that in 322, Neal comes back to life and that he’s the one saying “There’s no place like home”.

“Quiets Minds” reminded me of an episode of The Mentalist. In this episode, the man who murdered the protagonist’s family was finally revealed, after six seasons of mysteries, twists and theories. There was a lot of plot holes, a lack of respect for the continuity, the episode was terribly written, it just seemed to be a parody. The creator of the show said that the storyline was over, without giving any explanation. But guess what ? In the latest episodes, he started to drop clues again and his crew was forbidden to talk about the Season Finale; they couldn’t even give the title of the episode.

Anyway, I just wanted to stop by and see how you guys were doing. Just hang on and keep believing until the very last second of the very last episode.

I did these 2 screencaps from 2×01 Broken the first one is Regina’s hand that was marked by Rumple’s medallion the second one is Prince Phllip’s hand that was marked by the medallion that he cut off of the wraith.

What I want to go back and check is the back of their hands, (not their palms), to see if they used the same makeup effect through their fingers. If they did, then it’ll be pretty obvious it’s the same thing. But just looking at the back of Neal’s hand alone isn’t conclusive enough IMO.

I found two screencaps showing Regina’s and Philip’s hands after they were marked, and you can clearly see the back of their hands :

I don’t think it’s the same makeup effect…to be honest, I don’t think Regina and Philip have makeup on their hands.

Just saw the promos and I wondered “How did Hook find Rumple in NYC ?”. Then I remembered Disney’s Peter Pan animated film : someone told Hook where Peter Pan was hiding. And Phee said something very interesting about Tamara :

I agree. I think the writers want us to believe they’re a couple. Remember one of the informations about “Manhattan” :

I think the most precious information here is the “maybe it all needed to happen this way”. Maybe Emma will, like us, believe that “Tamara” is Neal’s girlfriend and she’ll be jealous, awakening her feelings for Neal.
But who is “Tamara” ? A “normal” person, or a FTL character ? Well, I have an idea :
If Neal is Baelfire AND Peter Pan, then “Tamara” could be Tinkerbell. Like Phee said, the Blue Fairy could have sent her to spy on Neal, and since she’s a fairy, it would be logical that she’d send another fairy to fulfill that mission. Moreover, the casting call for Tamara said : “she won’t stop until she gets what she wants”, and remember that Tinkerbell doesn’t stop until she gets Peter Pan’s affection. And it would add a nice parallel between Emma and Neal : “Tamara” would be Neal’s guardian angel just like August is Emma’s guardian angel.
