I have some family up there. I’ve been going through a lot down here, so they wanted to surprise me by possibly flying me up there (in which I found out). I’m excited!

I have absolutely had it. And i’m coming here to tell you so. Your thread is so full of ugh that it doesn’t matter anymore. I used to enjoy coming here. This used to be the sanest part of the fandom. I’ve been visiting for a long time, and i’ve seen the messages you’re getting from people lately complaining about this thread. Calling you haters. Well i can’t disagree.

Well aren’t you taking the high road! #SARCASM WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE. JMO IS JUST DOING HER JOB. She was ASKED about Neal’s death and she expanded her answer – SHE GAVE HER HONEST OPINION AND THE OPINION OF HER CHARACTER. Because correct me if i’m wrong, BUT JMO HAS SAID BEFORE THAT NEAL’S ACTIONS CONSTITUTE BETRAYAL TO EMMA.
You can fantasize that someone will say, ‘Oh, I love you, it’s great, it’s wonderful, it’s all fine now.’ But in reality, she spent 10 years thinking that he not only abandoned her in some way, but it seemed like he maliciously set her up. Ten years is a long time to suffer through that belief. Also, he found out that the curse was broken and could have come after her and still didn’t, so that’s the second betrayal she’s aware of.

And now Swanfire shippers have been added to that VERY EXCLUSIVE LIST. No doubt you’ll say “blah blah we’re not hating we’re just criticizing!!!!” No. Actually, you’re hating. I’ve seen Swan Queen some hateful shippers say that VERY THING on twitter – “not hate just criticism.” BULL. You don’t like the show, or the direction, or the writing? Stop watching the show. You send hateful tweets to cast members disguised as criticism? You need to start questioning yourself. And i’m pretty sure some members of this thread have sent cast member horrible tweets before. The fact that JMo can’t even talk about her character in a way she wants to (because this idiotic thing of accusing her of playing to ABCs drum is absolutely LUDICROUS, i work in one of the biggest tv channels, DIRECTLY WITH PRODUCERS AND EXECUTIVES, and ALL of the ABC conspiracies you talk about with regards to what the cast say absolutely DO NOT HAPPEN.) is absolutely horrible. JMo is a FANTASTIC actress, with real passion and enthusiasm and LOVE for her storyline. SHE WAS ASKED ABOUT NEAL. She could have just said “Neal is Henry’s father, that’s never going to change, we loved working with MRJ.” SHE EXPANDED HER ANSWER INTO HER OPINION, WHICH SHE’S PERFECTLY ENTITLED TO DO, AND SHOULD NOT GET HATE FOR IT. This thread has become an absolute cesspool of nastiness. Some particularly vitriolic hate is going ignored, isn’t deleted, and for some of us who come here just to love Swanfire (i’ve seen the evidence) it’s absolutely horrible to read. IGNORING HATE IN YOUR OWN THREAD MAKES YOU HATERS. YOU ALL BREED HATE AND SPREAD IT AROUND IN THE WORLD. Some of us just want to read about Swanfire. I hope you all sleep better knowing that your part of the fandom made Jennifer Morrison feel so uncomfortable that she had to release a statement to soothe your delicate sensibilities because you’re so hung up on a fictional story arc. Heaven FORBID she have an opinion about her character or her character’s story. Even if you didn’t send any tweets to her, this thread is an infected one. I’ve seen it NEARLY EVERY DAY LATELY. I’m so disgusted to say I’m in the OUAT fandom today. A show based on the fairytales we’ve love. It should be such a gorgeous environment yet it’s filled with all this hate. I’m EMBARASSED beyond words. AND DON’T DENY THAT THIS THREAD IS PART OF THE PROBLEM.
First, I’d like to say I know who you are. We argued a bit about Neal on Hypable, and now you’re attacking my home base. AND you’re acting like you love Swanfire. Not cool.
Now, we’re not haters. We love the romance that was set-up in two seasons, and the amazing poetry that was the Savior and the Son. But as you’ve stated about JMo (who we love, by the way), we’re allowed to have opinions.
What we’re saying here is that we don’t think she handled it well, that she was picking at a wound. That’s it. We’re not hating on her, bad mouthing her, or doing anything offensive. Just stating our opinions.
However, it is wrong of you to bundle us all up in a collective group and accuse us of such hatefulness. There are radicals in every ship. SQ has plenty, CS has tons (don’t deny it), and so does SF. But, from everyone I’ve met here in the year I’ve been here, we’re all respectful and kind to each other and to the actors.
So, are we haters? No. Are we crazy? Yes, most definitely. But we all have love for each other, many of us still have love for the show, and we still have love for or ship. So, please, don’t come here and attack us just because you don’t like what we’re posting in a thread that is specifically made to discuss all things related to Swanfire.
With that said, it’s very late in the US and I’m tired. Good night!

Neal was absolutely Emma’s first love and if he was still alive in the world of ONCE UPON A TIME, he could potentially be her true love. All I said was that It would have been hard for her to find a happy ending with Neal. I said hard not impossible. Some of the most wonderful things in life come from difficult situations. I was referencing what happened on the show. What happened on a show that I do not write. I show up and I do my job the best I possibly can. I cannot change the truth of what has happened on the show. Neal let Emma go to prison. Emma could forgive that because he had good reasons for that in the end, but he did know that she broke the curse and he did not come to find her. I was referencing that as a betrayal because it made her doubt the depth of his feelings. I think it is only human that she felt he should have come after her once he knew that she broke the curse. All that being said, I wish Neal was still alive. I love working with Micheal Raymond James, and I believe that he is such a special part of ONCE UPON A TIME. It was a huge loss for me personally and for Emma when his character died.

Hey guys! Sorry for being MIA in the past week, but the computer I was posting on is owned by my school and I have to return it for the end of the year. But I’ll try to be on more!
Now to my post. I follow a couple of Once accounts on Instagram, mostly because I like the edits. One of them is holding a contest for the best Captain Swan edit. I’m thinking, “Whatever. I’ll just scroll past it,” when I see one of the rules for it, and it was actually Rule No. 1: “It must have the quote, ‘I was an enemy of love. Love had only brought me pain. My walls were up, and you brought them down.”
WHY DID THEY HAVE TO WRITE THIS FREAKING LINE?! WHY DOES THIS HAVE TO BE CONSIDERED A CS QUOTE?! WHY DID THEY HAVE TO FLICKER TO EMMA AND CAPTAIN PLOT DEVICE?!
This show makes me more angry than I should be.

Keep in mind, Emma doesn’t know these things that Hook did:
- Take Milah from Rumple (and it was obvious that he didn’t care about adultery, because he knew she was married) and leave him fatherless.
- Leave Bae to the ruthless Peter Pan, who he knew ripped out shadows and obviously didn’t care whether or not he died because Bae told him that he was like Rumple. (I mean, ONE INSULT and you throw the BOY to the crazy, shadow-ripping man/boy/probably-TL-of-Zelena.
- Completely disregard going back for Emma when he got back to the EF because he wanted his ship (while Neal’s mind was solely focused on getting back to his family).
- When he had the option of being a hero and reuniting a TL couple or committing ruthless murder, he chose the murder.
But no, all she knows is, “You traded you ship for me?” She doesn’t know that Neal sent that message, that Neal only cared about getting back to Emma and Henry. No, and she’ll never know any of these things because, you know, reasons.
I rewatched Tallahassee, Manhattan, and Second Star to the Right. There is no way in HELL that SF was not originally planned as endgame. Do I believe that the writers planned on Hook loving Emma from the beginning? Yes. Do I believe that they were supposed to ultimately end up together? No, and I never will. Because SF was! And now it never will be, BECAUSE NEAL IS DEAD. THEY COULD’VE KILLED HIM IN S2 BUT THEY ONLY BROUGHT HIM BACK AS A SERIES REGULAR ONLY TO MAKE IT CRUEL IRONY AND KILL HIM. SOMETHING MUST’VE HAPPENED BTS. THEY MADE HIM THE OPENER FOR THEIR SOPHOMORE SEASON FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!
I swear, I don’t know if it was drugs, fan pandering, or A&E waking up thinking this was an alternate reality and have thought that up until this day so they can do whatever, but it’s cruel. Cruel, cruel, cruel…

Okay, I just had a quick thought. If the Vault of Eternal Goo contains the DO who last tried to kill himself (which is my headcanon on the stupid plot device), if Rumple tried to stab himself WHILE Neal was inside him, could they have both been transported back to the Vault, health fully restored? It could’ve a.) kept both alive b.) prevented Zelena from succeeding and c.) made everyone happy.
But no, because instead of letting Rumple use logic (which in 3×14 it was established that he had some logic), they decided that it had to be “story-driven.”
I want to use the word puck in some form but it would be mistaken too easily as bad language…

I’m angered about something: out of all the SIMPLE things they could’ve done to bring Neal back, why didn’t they? If it was so “story-driven,” they could’ve easily retcon it (like they’ve done to all their rules and to half of the cast who’ve “died”). Like:
- Preserve his body (just to give hope)
- Have Emma use her TL magic to reverse his curse (because, in all honesty, it seems Snow has more magic than Emma with the whole heart-splitting-love-thing)
- Let Rumple find another loophole
- Create a “life-for-life” rule and use Zelena’s death to fulfill it
- BRING HIM BACK THROUGH FREAKING TIME TRAVEL AND NOT LET EVERYONE HAVE OOC MOMENTS, WHICH ONLY STARTED WHEN NEAL FREAKING DIED.
But, in all seriousness, Neal didn’t have to die for CS. He could’ve a.) just accepted Emma moving on b.) moved on himself. Heck, he could’ve even been turned into a hamster by Zelena for all I cared! HE DIDN’T HAVE TO DIE. RUMPLE WOULD’VE WENT TO HADES (because I’m a good baby bison and I won’t get to mad) AND BACK TO RESURRECT NEAL, SO POST-3X15 RUMPLE HAS BEEN COMPLETELY OOC.
