Okay, I know I said I wouldn’t post anymore from my fight for Neal’s reputation, but this bothered me (oh, Luna, her name is Melinda Piette). This post is in reference to me talking about the keychain surviving the curse back and this is her response:
Oh also, the keychain survived so Bagel would have a rationalization for dabbling in black magic—and thus forcing Rumple to pay the price for the curse etc, in Bagel’s dying. BagelSwan was never gonna happen. And I think Emma asked for Bagel to remind us he was still a character and reflect on her living in the past. But that’s gone now, she’s living in the present with someone who can actually put her first. And won’t betray or be an idiot

People can get so infuriating at times. This is why I like this thread, because we have bison. You can’t go wrong with bison.

Just wanted to post their response before I go crazy on them. Last comment I’ll post from the argument, by the way.
Wow, that’s a WHOLE lot of sour grapes from just one Bitter Betty right there. BagelSwan was NEVER gonna happen. The show made it completely obvious they’re the past, CS is the future. Even if Bagel had lived (to stand in the background IDGAF), CS would’ve still happened. Because BagelSwan was never really love, let alone true love.
Conversely, it’s quite apparent CS is…and since you’re wrong here and were wrong before, I’m completely confident in that. I only, BTW, mention Bagel dying because oh-so-many posters here insisted he wasn’t. And it, again, reflects on how I was right and they (including you) were wrong.
BTW, you’re really stretching that Bagel did all these things…he did, however, because he was a shortsighted idiot empower Witchee and enslave his father. He was not a hero, he was an idiot. But if it makes you feel better….because I do realize that’s all you have. That Bagel maybe indirectly caused something, while Hook actually achieved results. And, under your logic, Bagel’s still responsible for ruining Emma’s life (just as he always was).
But the one who saved Emma, as he has always done, is Hook. You lose. Again.

I’m grumpy. A few months back, when Hypable was doing their “Battleships” (pitting TV ships against others), I got into an argument with a CSer about Neal (who she labeled as BagelFire) before the Spoiler of Doom came to pass. She had said that CS was certainly endgame and I was there telling how that’s not necessarily true and that it was wrong for her to say that. She then went onto say how the online fandom was a minority and how CS is more popular with the GA. I argued a little more until I realized how there was no point.
Flash forward to four months later. I check my email and saw a Disqus notification. The wench replied FOUR MONTHS LATER just to gloat how Neal was dead and not coming back and how CS was canon (which I acknowledged in my initial arguments, which she said then was endgame. I’ll paste my reply below:
I never said CS wasn’t canon. In fact, I admitted that. I said that CS wasn’t necessarily endgame. One make out doesn’t make them TLs.
Also, it’s distasteful of you to gloat that a character you didn’t like is gone. You may not have liked him, but there are many people who are fans of Neal.
Oh, and to note on something, Emma was only able to get out of the past because of Neal. His definition of home brought back her magic. Because of Neal, Emma a.) got her memories back b.) set out to defeat Zelena c.) got her out of an execution and d.) brought her home. So, am I annoyed that CS is together (right after Emma said she wouldn’t kiss Hook then decided that the only way to save a drowning person is by mouth-to-mouth)? Yes. Do I believe they killed Neal off for CaptainSwan? Yes. But keep this in mind: your ship only got together because of mine. Neal has saved Emma countless amounts of times – even after death.
I swear, these are the people that get me angry.

Even with all of this terrible heartache, just remember this: the last scene MRJ filmed for Neal was a SF one!
Also, if you haven’t heard, EnchantedFan can’t be here right now because she’s dealing with familial issues (may God bless her!). However, she wanted to relay this message to the SwanFire community:
To all the plucky yet gallant SWANFIRE community, I miss sharing my thoughts on the SF renaissance……yes…..I still believe Bae/Neal wil l once again grace OUAT season 3 finale and Season 4. I am focusing on my family, especially my Mom. We are surrounding her with love and happy memories. Wishing RG, DSB, Phee, Slurpeez and the rest of this community a safe and happy summer 🙂
Let’s all pray that her family gets well! 🙂

The entire episode just made me think, “This could’ve been Neal! This could’ve been Neal!!!!!!!”

I just want to comment on three things before bed:
- Hook’s line in the finale (3×21), “One of these days, I’m going to stop chasing this woman.” Neal wouldn’t have ever said that. Neal would’ve let go the minute Emma did, because he loved her wholeheartedly. No snark needed.
- You know that this show has gone downhill when fantastic people like Slurpeez leave the show. All the magic, all the greatness of this show has left (if it hasn’t been retconned). A&E had such a vision…where did it go?
- To touch on this last point, I do hope all the people that are leaving will stay here. Even if I’m not happy about the direction of the story, I will stick with it until the end. Mainly because of this forum. To share a story I have only told about five people: I was almost kicked out of home during the hiatus. Back in May of 2013, my dad beat up my mom (with myself pushing him off). Social Services got involved, and it has left me traumatized since. I was almost put in a foster care system, and I went through hell the entire summer. I’ve lost a good amount of my friends that I’ve known for seven years. It came to a head in December when I told my dad how I felt. We ended up not speaking to each other for a week and I was so depressed. It was during the week before Christmas and, right before the weekend, I left after my family made it clear they didn’t want me. They called my friend’s mom to get me back, and things have been better. But, since then, I’ve called this place home. I come here every day, hang around the chat, and enjoy talking to some great people. When I leave the forum every day for something, there’s a feeling I can’t shake. I just miss it. So please, all those who are leaving this show, remember: this is home.

I really, really, REALLY wish Emma could have some decent character development – not just trying to stuff it all into the finale. Also, after thinking back at something, I just realized…
THE ONLY PERSON EMMA EVER SAID “I LOVE YOU” TO WAS NEAL!!!!!!!! NOT WALSH! CERTAINLY NOT HOOK! NEALFIRE. AND NOW HE HAS TO BE SHAFTED OFF THE CAST FOR FREAKING “BOLD” STORYTELLING. BOLD STORYTELLING MY BEHIND!
This weekend, when I have time (hopefully), I’m writing a small SF fanfic set during the time they spent together when Emma was 18. Current setting: the night before Henry was conceived, with Neal treating Emma to a beautiful dinner.

I’m going to go with…
3 home and 3 out (If I can). This gives me a good mixture of some of my favorite things in Once: the character moments and the action moments!
Oh, and a few questions:
- Is it going to be home/out? Like, if someone writes a “home” chapter, does someone else right an “out” chapter after?
- Can you bring people back from the dead?
- Can you write Rumbelle as an endgame couple since they, well, kinda are…
