Okay, as much as I am not fond of A&E, this has to be said: they are the masters of lines. They rival Jane.

I thought about this earlier… If Emma does get married to another guy (because I’m holding on to a fragment of hope that Neal is coming back), I want her to name the child, “Tallahassee.”

Agreed. I wouldn’t say I’m “excited” for tonight’s ep, but I AM very interested to see what happens, because it should tell us a fair bit about whether or not there’s still hope left for the story.
I’m curious about this episode (pun intended). If they at least say Neal”s name, I’ll be happy. If they confirm CS as TLs, I’m watching for Regina and Rumple. Case closed.

Okay, I’ve been doing some theorizing in the hour that has passed since my dad woke me up (unwillingly). I believe that this episode will a.) confirm who cast the curse b.) give everyone back their memories and c.) confirm whether or not Hook and Emma are TLs.
Now, if they do decide to make CS canon, I am going to be angry. Why? Not only because they put CS together, but because they killed Neal to make it so. This shows that the writers have had no interest in the character since they conceived him. I mean, THEY WERE THE ONES THAT CALLED MRJ FOR THIS ROLE! To quote Agent Coulson (for all my SHIELD friends out there), “This has to mean something!”
For example, we never found out how or why (canonically. Headcanon doesn’t count) Baelfire decided to adopt the name, “Neal Cassidy.” Sure, I believe he chose it to put his past behind him, but I think that’s an important story to tell. Considering that the only Neal-centric episode that was solely about him (2×06 – him with Emma, 3×04 – him with Rumple, and even 3×15 wasn’t solely about him) was the one he died in.
Also, I have done some pondering and have come to this conclusion: 3×11 was a cruel, sick example of foreshadowing of Neal’s death by the writers. I’ll list them below:
- Neal’s now infamous line, “I will see both of you again.” This was to give us false hope. Terrible, horrible false hope. They knew he was going to die (because they must have had this planned THIS far in advance, at least. Do I believe it was story-driven? HECK TO THE NO!), but they didn’t want to blatantly foreshadow it, hoping to keep it a “surprise.”
- The ending scene in 3×11. This was another example of the sick foreshadowing. They a.) placed Henry and Emma in NY b.) played Neal’s song. This all looked good…until the pirate showed up. I believe, however unwillingly, that this was to foreshadow the fall of SwanFire and the rising of CaptainSwan. And, the only way the writers can remove Neal from the situation (because they’re stupid and I stand by my theory that the writers’ names on the scripts are placeholders for interns) was to kill him.
Oh, the interns. They looked so promising…

If they brought Neal back, I’ll be angry. Yes, I’ll be extremely happy for Emma. If Neal came back, she’ll be with him in a heartbeat. But I’ll be angry because the writers have killed him twice just to serve a purpose. It’s terrible storytelling and, honestly, a lack of creativity. Simple as that.
