I was pondering this earlier, but with Eddy using the word “Hell” to describe 5B, could that play into the theory that they’re going to the Underworld in 5B?

I could totally see the end of this season being that the Fury comes back and takes Emma to the Underworld. If they do that, and make it her journey back from the Underworld (a proper heroes katabasis) then I’ll forgive them for making this part of the episode feel so random.
That’d be a great way to end the show! I just hope that Emma would be with everyone looking for way to escape the Underworld.

Final Live+SD ratings are in for episode 501 “The Dark Swan” We rose in overall viewers slightly, to a 5.93 million but kept our 1.8 in the demo.
I find it ironic that the story is currently centered on “The Dark Swan” and we’re all singing our swan songs. It’s well-suited, especially since the ratings are declining (never thought I’d see the day we go under 6 million), but ironic and sad.

It bothers me a bit that Emma keeps bumping into people who are magical, tell her about magic, tell her things that are otherworldly and still she didn’t believe a lick of what Henry told her back in S1
I tweeted out the same exact thing when I was watching it! After being left off the side of the road, meeting a crazy woman who said she had magic, and meeting a random usher who appeared magical, she still gets surprised by the most ridiculous things. I swear, sometimes it should be #DumbSwan!

I agree, RG: this is it.
What I wonder is, since Once is declining in the ratings, could they have more creative freedom? I remember an interview Bryan Fuller gave about Hannibal over the summer, saying how since they didn’t get huge ratings, they didn’t have to conform as much as other shows. It’d be cool if Adam & Eddy could explore some darker areas (though, since they are within the Disney brand and have highly marketable characters, I have doubts) during the final season.
Oh, and I think they’re going to start the “final season” marketing in the spring, hyping up the 100th episode and having it end on a solid 12 episodes.

Yes! I wasn’t a fan of JMo’s performance in S4, as I felt she lacked interest in the character. It just looked bland. But seeing this invigorates my interest in Emma, so I can’t wait to see how far JMo will take her!

Questions I now have:
1. I don’t mind an LGBT relationship, but I don’t like the fact that it’s Merida that’s getting one. Her movie was one where she declared her independence from the conformity of her society and made a point of not wanting to be in a relationship, so I don’t see why she needs one.
2. I can’t wait to see Darkness!Rumple. This is a Rumple that I can expect to be dark, so I’m ready for that.

I feel like this will truly be the last season. A lot of returning members, Eddy’s insistence to “please watch,” and focusing on some major things makes me think that, unless ratings go through the roof, Once is starting its final season.

Is this the first season premiere (besides the pilot) not directed by Ralph Hemecker? I know Ron Underwood has directed a number of episodes, but Hemecker usually directs big Once episodes. Intriguing.
