BlockedHey at least now I know what you guys feel like. I can hate watch this show like a lot of you do. It’ll be fun. 🙂

BlockedHOW IS THIS GOING TO WORK!?HOW!?!
Jared and Emilie were not asked back either. Clearly they’re not in the message. So it’s just those three. Unbelievable. I hope it tanks, I truly do.
No family dynamic, no romances, no complex characters, no nothing.
Watch that 22 episode count will be cut in half after the first couple episodes of abysmal ratings.

BlockedI really can’t wait to see the failure of this reboot. It’s going to be so enjoyable seeing the ratings tank when Adam and Eddy realize that plot plot plot and new characters is not what made people fall in love with your show. It was the relationships, the romance, the family complex. Those are all gonna be gone. All the characters that make the villains complex characters, are gone.
But it has been that way for 3.5 seasons, I don’t see why it makes any difference now.
The difference was it had the romance, it had the core family, it had the complex characters. Now it has nothing.

BlockedDon’t ruinÂ
I just hope they explain all these characters absences in a way that doesn’t mean they died. Where Emma is still Hook’s wife and Belle is still Rumple’s.
Agreed. Or permanently separated from one another. Otherwise the “New Beginning” for Emma et al. championed in the last episode will have been a cruel joke.
Permanantly separated would be too cruel. Â They need to do it to where we have hope that they’ll be together one day. Don’t ruin all the happy endings you put in place.

Don’t ruin all the happy endings you set up for 6 years.

BlockedNone of the ships are sunk they will just not be focused on.

BlockedSure CaptainSwan is no more, but the Hook fan base is fairly extensive and Colin has a very big fanbase.
The CS and Hook fanbase are the same thing and many refuse to watch after Sunday.
And yet there was a petition going around asking ABC for a Hook centric prequel staring Colin. Now maybe that’s a small portion of that selected fanbase but the idea that they’re totally going to drop the show doesn’t quite scan because they obviously like the idea of Colin/Hook, Emma or no. Especially if Hook’s story has something to do with saving Emma. Reading through comments on SpoilerTV and Twitter, yes many are saying they are done, but many others are saying they’ll give it a go if A and E does right by the ship by having the story be about the ship (ie: Emma’s in trouble, missing, pregnant and under a sleeping curse).
Most CS fans I know are scared of what a S7 can do to CS. Destroy the last 6 seasons when they just got married, now they kill Emma or end CS. That would just be so cruel and horrible.
What are the chances that you think they’re not gonna destroy CS?

BlockedReboots are never ever successful. See Scrubs, see Sleepy Hallow, see Glee, see The OC, they do not work.
But what does ABC consider “successful” though? As the article in the original post says, OUAT might not do well live but apparently they are bringing in bucks through other means, like Netflix. If ABC is lowering their “cancel” threshold then if the show stays steady-ish (say, doesn’t go below a .6) then nothing is certain. Network TV is just in such a bad place right now. I personally can’t see it getting a S8 either but ABC has different parameters for success.
.6? It’s almost there as we speak. It’ll definitely be there and below that next season. Â This show always drops in ratings and when you don’t have the family unit, the romance, nor the heroine back…what the heck is there to watch for? Nothing.
