I loved his ‘sliding sword’ joke, and I do believe he threw the fight. Like mentioned previously, he’s a 300 year old pirate. If he hasn’t acquired masterful sword skills during these years, then we have a problem.
He has a small soft spot for Emma and I would love to see this grow. I agree with Maiqu20, maybe it was his intention to give Emma a head start back to storybrook. He knew he had the bean so Cora wouldn’t rip him apart, but he may have wanted to help Emma without making it obvious 😆
yes Rumple could have stopped Regina at the well, but he didn’t, hmm.
Maybe he has further plans for Regina, because he let her save Emma and Snow from not making it through the well, but then later at the shop his words to her were like a slap on the face.@TimeSpacer wrote:

If, like some fans, we look at it from the Charmings’ point of view, Regina has done a lot of horrible things yet Emma was at least civil to her in saying “Thank you” (a big change from threatening to kill her in the Season One finale). And that hug and thanks from Henry was huge – it was the first time in the entire series that he has shown genuine affection toward her. Despite that affection, his eagerness to leave her and go to dinner with the Charmings was perfectly understandable for an eleven year old kid. He hadn’t seen Emma and Snow since the first episode of the season and he had reason to fear that they were dead and David asleep forever. It was clearly a spontaneous reaction of a kid – certainly not a conscious effort to hurt Regina. I got a sense that Henry is now happy to spend time with Regina – he just wanted to do something different at the moment. After all, he can’t be expected to analyze the emotional needs of all the adults.
On the other hand, if we look at it from Regina’s point of view, it was like a dagger through her heart. She’s waited so long and done so much to earn Henry’s affection and as soon as she gets a few brief seconds of it, he pulls away to go with her enemies and she’s left alone. As several people have posted in this thread, Regina is going to need support to kick the magic habit and this is definitely not giving her support. We know Regina has always had a problem seeing things from other people’s point of view and that look on her face at the end told just how much pain she felt. Given Regina’s history of turning her pain into anger toward others, I think we are about to see a lot more conflict.

Also someone mentioned that everyone is supposedly placing Regina on a pedestal just because she saved Snow and Emma, I don’t think it’s because of that, but because she showed how much she cares about Henry, and she started to show a change of heart in doing what she did to save them. She was conflicted when Rumple approached her with the plan, and I guess everyone just wanted to praise her actions, not necessarily put her on a pedestal 🙂
And this is also just my own bias opinion, but Emma was a little annoying in season 1 when she kept not wanting to believe and all, but it didn’t take much for Regina to change for Henry, but like I said, that’s just in my opinion 😆I do agree that an invitation to dinner wasn’t exactly expected, and noone’s saying that she should have joined everyone, but the tiny bit of gratitude she received was a little rushed, and it didn’t help having Rumple rub it in.
But yes, leaving her alone like that will be the set up of her possibly turning back to her evil ways, so I suppose that was needed ):I agree with EvilQueen. Yes she did try to destroy everyone and their happiness to get revenge, but everyone can’t just ignore the fact that she is trying to change. Sure she was evil, but it would be nice to see them giving her a chance in the near future, otherwise she might go back to being evil again, no thanks to Rumple ): If everyone wants to play the blame game, like what Snow said herself, she was the one who told Cora about Daniel and Regina, and that’s why Daniel got his heart ripped out and Regina wanted revenge and went all psycho-evil. I’m not throwing the blame at Snow, but we can’t keep playing the blame game 🙂
Favourite- When Henry finally hugged Regina. That hug was overdue boy!
Least favourite- having to wait 4 weeks for this break to be over 😥
