ParticipantPOm, it is not that characters “shouldn’t” get their happy endings. I see you keep reiterating that talking point but I think you are misunderstanding. It’s that according to what is now cannon on the show, if they apply it to other characters, all bets are off.
Also, isn’t there some sort of debate thread or some thread about Neal’s death this argument can transfer to? Because it really sucks to come read everything. POM, If you want to share your feelings you can always do that on the “Neal happy ending?” Thread and who responds will just be who responds and who chooses to read and discuss will choose instead of fans coming here with no desire for this argument to be subjected to it in what is now a Memorial thread. O course I am not a moderator so I mean, you can do whatever, I just think it would be more considerate and appropriate in other threads instead of forcing all of us to be part of something we never came here for.[adrotate group="5"]Keeper Nealfire's/Bae's scarf, Henry and Neal's bribery ice cream sundae, Baelfire's sword, the coconut map, and more.

ParticipantJust to be clear, it’s not like any of us actually have any hope. It’s really not that at all. It’s just that so many things have been fishy, more-so than usual. We don’t think he’s going to pop back up. But even those who do, they do so with reason, not just flighty fantasy. GV’s I and many others have spoken to think we are crazy that he’s not coming back— it’s those loose ends- NOT to crazy obsessive watchers like us–but to the general audience– that makes them have ZERO doubts about Neal’s return. That to me, any way you slice it, is sloppy handling of everything. So, it’s not that those things or fishy articles give us hope. It’s that they’re just off… whether that’s because something happened behind the scenes, or because people don’t know who the actual death is and he is coming back, we will wait and see. But some people think we are burying our head in the sand and are 100% confident he is coming back. That’s not the case at all.
And as I said earlier, it’s not that I think Keck lied about the wedding . I think he thinks he knows. And not even because he was lied to. Things just happen. I do trust Mitovitch. And I wouldn’t blame him if it ends up being wrong. Things just happen, have happened before, and will happen again. No biggie. Doesn’t give me hope, but doesn’t make me stop theorizing, just in case everything is not what it seems.

ParticipantI do remember an article stating and many of us talking about the line in an article that said, “the character will not be available for flashbacks.” I had to stop looking for the origin article the other day, but it was a huge part of all of our theories. A quick search in the forums showed many of us who quoted the article directly. Sure it could have been totally wrong, but it is what was said at one point.
Also, a perfect example is Keck. He spoiled the “splashy wedding”, and proceeded to answer questions on twitter, even saying it wasn’t Ariel and Eric. Adam then tweeted Keck, or at least the person who tweeted Keck, and said he actually NEVER even told him who the wedding was or wasn’t, just that there was one, so any answers he gives is out of his own speculation! That’s the thing with these spoilers- unless they’ve seen an ep, they aren’t usually told the specifics about a lot of these things. Why would they be? It’s a lot of weight for someone to carry, and a lot of trust to put that into someone to not spill the beans. So who do we believe here? Keck, or Adam? You know? This is the same kind of thing IMO.

ParticipantSo now I wish I would’t have quit watching LOST. Quit both when it was airing live around the end of S2 and the same when rewatching on Netflix.
But I’ve done a little reading and in There’s No Place Like Home Part 2, where the Wheel of Time is first introduced, that is when Jack and another are pushing everyone to go back to the island. From what I gathered, it is because there is something in the timeline that needed to be changed? OR something that is supposed to happen, etc? Any losties care to shed some light on that, on why they had to go back to the island? Because as it stands right now, that’s another huge link to me.

ParticipantAll of this is VERY interesting.
Apparently, the first episode of LOST where the Wheel of Time was shown was “There’s No Place Like Home pt 2″ O__________________________OAaaand Apparently there was a character in the Wheel of Time as well who was named Morraine… she had mastered the use of Balefire. Wow. I am pretty much gonna spend all afternoon looking at this stuff lol.

also saw this in the thread that was posted:
Now. Balefire is different because balefire acts upon time. Even the Dark One who lives outside of the Pattern is still susceptible to the power of balefire because he cannot pull someone from death and put them in a new body if they were killed using balefire.
this is just. nuts.
On another note, perhaps they defeat Zelena by successfully balefiring her without it effecting all of their timelines..

ParticipantTotally agree- but that’s subjective. The only one to make that decision is Emma, and she is a fictional character. If you don’t want to move on, why would you move on? That’s what I am saying. We never got a chance to see what Emma wanted, because she is dead. The only thing we have to go on are her own words. Not hypotheticals. A person who wants to be in a relationship with someone shouldn’t be told to move on just because they had a relationship in the past with someone– unless it was abusive, not reciprocated, or the person is married. Just the same as you’re saying, they shouldn’t be forced to stay just because the relationship was once good… if they want out, let them out. If they want to stay, let them stay. We don’t know what would have happened to their development and what Emma would have decided because he is now dead.
