HOROWITZ: One of Emma’s core themes was finding her parents, and she found them, and it would be a shame if everything we built for fifty-some episodes went away.

SO, it’s a shame if they do that to Emma, but they totally did it for Bae. Okay. That’s EXACTLY what they did to him. A and E just pretty much said what we’ve been saying!

Showrunners Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz opened up about the love triangle’s remaining relationship and where it might be headed, prepare yourself for disappointment — Horowitz told E!:
“Their relationship is continuing to develop and grow, but right now, both of them are embroiled in something beyond romance. So while they’re dealing with any feelings they may or may not have for one another, the stakes are raised so high now.”Ok sooo exactly what he said during NL. Okay.
Also, extremely true. Emma just watched her first love and the father of her child die — there’s no way she’s going to rush into anything romantic right away, even if his death was somewhat heroic. Because like Kitsis said, she’s always had walls up and between flying-monkey-guy and Neal biting the dust, they’re at least 50-75 feet higher than they were before. Good luck climbing over those, Hook — but perhaps we’re underestimating their connection.
Yeah, that happened in 2×21 too, so…
Hook is a changed man and although he didn’t feel remorse going after Emma in Neverland, he may very well feel remorse now for going after a dead-man’s girl. Especially since he saved Neal’s life way back when and still feels that brotherly/fatherly love for him.
But that’s exactly what he did in NL… went after a dead man’s girl… their words not mine. And… if you save someone’s life just to put it intentionally in danger again and not even care if the person dies… does that still count?
OUAT’s love triangle might be over (or rather, simplified), but Neal’s shadow is going to hang over Hook and Emma for long enough to prevent them from ‘shipping anytime soon.
So basically 2×21-3×11 didn’t happen. Exactly what Quiet Minds was trying to tell us.

Grimm…Once again, it’s not all about Neal. It’s about the show. We would have preferred it if Neal stayed dead in 221. That was a beautiful ending for many of us. It’s really not just his death we are mourning. Really. It’s the character assassination and the complete about-face of the message of the show. Watching season 1-2 would not have been difficult had he stayed dead in 221. An honorable, meaningful death. But this senselessness and seemingly retconned-throw away all that we’ve established-episode just makes it difficult to even watch what has already happened. It’s not just about mourning Neal. We’ve done that before. It’s about this show that made us all feel alive, feel hope, feel wonder… the excitement is gone since they did away so poorly with stuff they’ve already established.

Grimm, I have been seeing people say that since minutes after the show. Everywhere. On twitter, here. In comments on facebook and articles. It’s the argument in general that RG (and really, a LOT of us) was/were addressing. I didn’t even know you were saying it and I’ve been talking about the argument in general too. It’s just one of those things.

It’s not so much that I have hope exactly, it’s more like my cynicism is so extreme that it’s gone full circle and I just can’t believe any part of the situation is believable in any way.

Just spoke to yet another friend who is semi-casual viewer(here and there in the fandom but not much lately). she just watched. She fully believes 100% that he is coming back because of all the set up they’ve done for him and that A and E are trolling hard. (She’s also a crazy tv fanatic and aspiring film/tv writer).
See. It’s not just US… so many people see all the set up they’ve done and see it as absolutely absurd. So much to the point where semi-casual and casual viewers think others’ are crazy for thinking he’s actually gone. THAT’S the story they’ve set up. This is the travesty. The thing is, even in interviews released YESTERDAY, Adam and Eddie still said nothing is going to happen in the near future with CS… she isn’t focused on that. They didn’t admit it would ever happen, but they definitely ruled it out for now. I think people are reading wayyyy to much into what Neal said. She brushed off Hook MORE than she brushed off Neal in the last few eps of 3a. She was actually open to the Neal date. Neal, knowing that she wasn’t really into Hook, wouldn’t be speaking of Hook if he knew she wasn’t into him at the moment. He was speaking GENERALLY. Not specifically.
