If Snow’s simple ring still has magic in Storybrooke, then I would’ve expected to see far more power things also have magic, like Rumplestiltskin’s dagger.

This is close to one of my favorite Lost lines from Hurley, “Dude, you got some Arnst on you.”
Creative idea, but I see a major problem. Even if we assume that Rumplestiltskin’s story isn’t in there, Jiminy’s early story is. Jiminy’s story began about 30 years (or more) before Belle was born.
Kitsis and Horowitz recently said that the book’s origin and how it ended up with Mary Margaret would be a story.

Personally, yes. But I’m only going off of what the writers and producers have said. The producers’ recent comments about Belle and Gold appearing in the finale together, and that Belle’s story will carry over into season 2 have led me to believe that Gold will find out about Belle in the finale.
