Henry told Gold he wanted the present for MM to be something special and he ended up giving her a BELL. Coincidence? I think not! So now we know that Rumpel had to resist Bell’s love because he needed his power to find his son. The man is torn between two loves 🙁
Exactly. And what makes it so sad is that in the end, he ended up losing both of them anyway. 😥

Wow everyone here has made such good points :ugeek: So did anyone else besides me nearly start sobbing when Mr. Gold gave that heart felt speech and the most sweetest, teary eyed, hug to who he thought was his son? 🙁 And I just about lost it when Rumpel was screaming Bae’s name after he fell into our world.
I loved his speech too. I was very happy to see Mr. Gold own up to some of his evil deeds. Too bad it was for nothing. 😥
And the way Mr. Gold held August in his arms and cried…TOO. SAD. 😥 😥 😥

… ok ok my favourite scenes are very biased towards rumple… for all i know the show for me could be called Rumple’s Tale 😀 hehehe … though can’t wait to see Regina’s story evolve either… I do tend to sympathise with the darker characters… they seem more deep and interesting…
Don’t be shamed. I’m the same way. Rumpel/Gold’s scenes have been my favorites of the season. 😀

Emma can be so smart in some ways and so blind in others. While she obviously is aware now that Sidney is working for Regina and even taking the blame for her, Emma was silly enough to threaten to take custody of Henry away from Regina. Even though a custody battle has been hinted at since episode 5 when Archie threatened to testify against Regina, I would have hoped that Emma would be smart enough not to reveal that plan to Regina. During the entire murder investigation, she told Mary Margaret that the thing that gave them one up on Regina was that she didn’t know Emma knew. Why on earth would Emma suddenly change her tactic? Now that Regina knows exactly what Emma’s intentions are, it is only going to fuel a battle over Henry which could result in Henry getting hurt emotionally or otherwise. Even though Regina loves Henry, she won’t stop at playing dirty to get what she wants. She would destroy Emma even if doing so were to hurt Henry.
Yeah, I was pretty surprised when Emma told Regina straight to her face that she was going after Henry. Emma keeps losing to Regina because she always sees it coming. You don’t warn your enemy that you’re about to attack. You let them settle into a place of security and comfort, and then BOOM!!! Taken out.
I hope Emma rethinks her strategy, because she’s already given up her leverage.
Daniel J. LewisKeymasterWell, we finally have an answer! Rumpel needed to find a way to find his son. This also explains why he wouldn’t allow Belle’s kiss to take full effect. He needed his power to find his son. So, if he had allowed Belle to break his curse, he would have been scrificing one for another. Very sad. 😥
Daniel J. LewisKeymasterWow, last night’s episode was amazing! So heartbreaking and informative. I was glad to see Mr. Gold admit to his mistakes and apologize to August (even though it was all done in vain). And FINALLY! We learned why Rumpel created the curse. Seems like the two most popular competing theories were both correct. He was looking for a lost loved one, and he was looking for a place without magic.
I also loved the scene where Rumpel told the Blue Fairy that he would love no one else until he found Baelfire. This explains why he was so reluctant to accept Belle. He needed his powers in order to find his son. If he had let the kiss take full effect, he would have been sacrificing his son for Belle. Trapped between two loves. Very tragic. 😥
Daniel J. LewisKeymasterYes, I’ll create an additional thread for these “off-site” references. Just have to decide where to put it.
Daniel J. LewisKeymasterActually, we’ve received plenty of great feedback from men who watch Once Upon a Time. It may be that the women are just more vocal about their fandom.
Just remember: dragons and sword fights. 🙂
Daniel J. LewisKeymaster“Nat is a girl. Nat is a girl. Nat is a girl.” I’ll have to keep saying that to make sure I don’t think “Nate.” 🙂
It’s really cool to have you joining us from Brazil! I’ve enjoyed your messages in the chat room.
Daniel J. LewisKeymasterWe’re so glad to have you with us, Scott!
My wife Jenny just finished watching Lost, too. I rewatched a few episodes with her.
