ParticipantI can imagine him trailing along behind other characters, picking up the objects they leave behind. “Rumple’s Salvage Service: for a litter -free Fairytale Land.”

The Blue Fairy: Well, nobody asked, but I thought I would say something now, in case it might be the same evil Dark Curse.
Snow: And you didn’t tell Bae about True Love’s Kiss?!
Grumpy: Let’s show this blue fairy what Snow White and the seven dwarves can really do!
Charming: Where’s my sword?darcyfarrow
ParticipantMe too: watching bunches of RC movies (last night it was Plunkett and Macleane, where you can see the beginnings of Rumple –RC’s character is a schemer who knows a lot about chemicals). I’m rewatching the episodes through Amazon and working on the Rumple Compendium, and I’m starting to make plans for a Once season opening party at my library (episode viewing and discussion, costume contest, Rumple giggle competition, Bake the Storybook). Can’t really make any definite plans till we know the premier date, though. Also reading fan fic– a lot of good stuff out there.

Gold comes to Regina’s office to ask “a favor,” but it becomes a deal instead: in return for her exerting her influence to get the battery charges against him dropped, he will help with her “Mary Margaret problem.” He says ominously, “If you want to inflict pain, you must inflict pain. ” He suggests causing “something tragic” to happen to Kathryn, with MM being framed for it. But there need not be a trial; a jailbreak could be arranged, with something unnamed happening to the fugitive. Regina has doubts about Gold ‘s trustworthiness, but he assures her, “I always honor my agreements.”
Later, Gold asks MM to agree to an interview with the DA. Emma is skeptical, but Gold says the interview will establish an image of innocence for MM. “Our most valuable asset,” he says, is public opinion; “perception is everything…not only in the courtroom but in life.” MM no sooner agrees than the DA shows up. He begins to drill her as Gold listens. Gold interrupts when the questions lead MM into what on the surface seems to be a confession. MM ignores Gold’s advice; Gold rolls his eyes.MM is hauled off in handcuffs as Emma and Gold stand by. Emma wheels on Gold, but he asks her patience and trust: “You must have faith. There is still time …for me to work a liitle magic. “darcyfarrow
ParticipantJust wondering: how would it go over with fans if K & H said, “We’ve reconsidered : it works better for the story if Rumple retained his FTL memories when he came to SB”? I for one would be quite all right with that. How would you feel?

ParticipantOh oh, I forgot Mother Superior’s sweep. That’s a lovely ‘do too.

ParticipantYeah, but she’s been the sheriff a few months, yes? Wouldn’t you expect a sheriff to have a working knowledge of the major public buildings in town, especially one that size, and to ask why a library is chained shut? Since there’s no “for sale ” or “condemned” sign, I ‘d be asking why taxpayer dollars are going to waste on an unused building.
I got to say, though, that reverent tone and the sympathetic look from Gold when he answered the sword question made the phrasing of her question irrelevant to me. Just the thought that Emma was going to jump right in to her father’s dragonslayer role, and get to use his sword, gives me a shiver.

ParticipantYeah, but why didn’t Daniel and Regina make a deal with Cora: you use your magic or influence to give Daniel some royal position and then let us marry. Everybody wins.

Oh, this is an interesting observation. Would changing Charming’s clothing count? He’d already fulfilled his end of the deal and so did Charming. The rest was just gravy. An unexpected bit of magic that wasn’t really necessary. Snow would have had him dressed in rags if he showed up like that, but Rumple decided to spruce him with a makeover. 😉
So he’d look nice for his portrait in the storybook. Here’s a thought: Rumple’s so concerned about the little niceties like that– the memorable details of a story–maybe he was the storybook’s illustrator.
I think you’ve got a really good point, Celesstarr. And I’ve wondered if Rumple’s penchant for dealmaking is kind of his way of making things right with Bae, since the whole dealmaking thing started with Bae. Maybe that ‘s why Rumple is such a toe-the-line guy when it comes to deals–to compensate for the one deal he weaseled out on.

I just want to see a scene where Charming sees Gold and Belle for the first time.
Ditto for Snow and Emma –their concept of who Gold is (and Snow’s memory of who Rumple was) will be altered when they see he’s in love and is loved, and by such a strong gal. Snow probably has never thought of Rumple as a human, and Emma has probably never thought of Gold as a guy with a heart, so it ‘ll be interesting. I can imagine Snow saying something like, “Mr. Gold! You old softie!” and Emma giving Gold a “way to go, Gold!”
