Reviews, theories, and talk about ABC's Once Upon a Time TV show
Hmm, what do you suppose would happen if the dagger were to be destroyed?
It seems like a safe bet that Regina acquired her magic through the same way that Rumple did (though probably with full knowledge of what she was doing). But can magic be inherited or given? How do the fairies get their magic?
Just a thought…what if, instead of running away, Regina had used her head and decided to fight magic with magic–turning to someone who’s as powerful as Mama? I would’ve loved to see Cora and Rumple square off for a good old-fashioned fire fight.
After viewing the promo for “The Return” I’m convinced Lissy is right: August is Bae. He’s the only one, I think, who could strike such fear in Gold: if anyone else threatened him, Gold would fight back, but he wouldn’t fight Bae…who, Gold may think, would kill him to free him from the curse.
So I’ll agree that August is Bae AND the librarian…who, having learned the truth from the book, nobly tried to fight Regina and was driven out of town, to return now that the savior has come.
If the promo for “The Return” can be trusted, perhaps Gold will use his favor to ask Emma’s help against August (or whoever it is that Gold is referring to when he says, “I think he’s here to try to kill me.”)

I’m calling that the true way to break the curse is for Regina/EQ to forgive MM/Snow, and for MM/Snow to forgive Regina/EQ. Emma will be the facilitator for this to happen.
And for everyone to stop expecting magic to solve their problems and instead turn to each other for help…in other words, a SB-wide rejection of magic.
Interesting question, Rumplegoldfan. If Emma had believed in Henry’s claim early on, we’d have no series! She’d have grabbed Henry (and maybe her mom and dad) and hit the road–no way would she leave him with the Evil Queen. But now she’s come to care about too many of SB’s residents to leave them in the lurch.

. Maybe that’s the only time he’s mentioned in the book-as the one who made the prophecy about Emma? It could explain why Henry can’t make the connection between Gold and Rumple!

Rumple has played such a big part in so many of the characters’ lives that it doesn’t seem possible to tell their stories without bringing him in. Perhaps Henry hasn’t figured out who Gold is because Gold and Rumple are so different physically and emotionally. Gold seems more Scrooge-like than impish.
Congratulations, everyone–so many of your theories were proven tonight!
